Wait, those're your rules? I thought that's how they usually go.
I'm a Unionite and some of my favourite moments in the game have been a team of level 50s wiggling their bum at Requiem and Romulus on the platform in the ITF before running up and pimp slapping them and their army
Yet to try a Keyes, but if it's like that then may have to before it's too late. -
Two more pages of character slots and up to 20 costumes per character.
AND I WOULD USE EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM AND DEMAND MORE. -
Far as I remember, the choke hold procs in existing powers work against AVs (and in some cases, GMs), it's just that it's 1-2 seconds of free time. The PBAoE immob toggle is to keep enemies near you, which of course wouldn't work on an AV but then that'd be lazy so just use Taunt
I did think about putting in a Siphon Life-esque power, where you debuff a single target's Tohit and Damage almost permanately while buffing your own defense and resistance (as opposed to damaging an enemy whilst healing yourself). Wouldn't be great for taking alpha strikes, but once you've got it off you're buffed up and a choice target is very weak against you. 30 second duration, 90 second recharge, doesn't stack with itself?
Edit: Thinking about it that'd be great to see ingame. Charge into a group, no escape from your debuffs then flick an AV on the nose and use the PBAoE heal to softed what the alpha did to you. -
I can definately get behind Dual Blades having axes though.
More on topic, I'd like to see..
Stop sign
Street lamp
Broken Crab Pack
Nemesis Staff
Giant guitar
Shark
Vanguard Scythe
Ruluruu Scythe
Giant claw hammer
Giant cutlass
Giant ornate axe
Really big plank of wood
Really big plank of wood with a railroad spike through it variant
A really big gun being held by the barrel as a club
Giant baseball bat
Giant ornate hammer which can be colour customised if you want something else -
Quote:And it can turn a humorous death ("Hey guys, watch this!") into a mission over in 2 minutes. We're all in this for the fun, right? I agree, it can be ineffective and a team wipe -can- occur between going down and ressurecting (Seen it happen once or twice), but it's also fun. Well it's my kind of fun, each to their own of course and might I just say..it's not like Fallout or Vengeance, which are basically planning for failure without correcting the problem
I find this powerset fun, both in concept and power suggestion, and to me that's all there needs to be.
PS. I loved old Blaster Defiance, so I am biased. Very, oh so badly biased. -

With the reveal of Time Manipulation and Titan Weapons, I think this would be a good time to start suggesting other powersets because what better incentive is there for the Devs to add something than it meaning more money to them through microtransactions? Here's what I'd like to see;
Radiation Aura, defensive set built around enemy debuffs and mez to tank or stay alive.
S/L/E/T res shield
Damage aura with -tohit
Fast recharge, very small self heal based on targets around you (Imagine a 20-30 second recharging self heal like Energy Aura's)
Auto E/T res
E/N/L def shield, PBAoE -dam
Mez prot
Click PBAoE -tohit -dam, chance for choke, self +recov
High endurance toggle (TK high), PBAoE mag 2 immob, chance for choke, self +res (all but psi) for every enemy in range
Weather Manipulation, Blaster secondary
ST/3 target max Gale
Hail Strike (Melee, Punch with Ice Melee fists)
Tundra (PBAoE -recharge -perc, doesn't inherantly aggro)
Lightning Strike (Melee, Haymaker with a bolt of lightning from the sky)
Build Up
Cyclone (Small AoE knockup, minor damage, short recharge)
Slick (Toggle single enemy knockdown, keeps the ground under them frozen)
Heatwave (Targetted AoE -speed -recharge, chance to stun)
Thunder Clap (with moderate damage, only chance to stun)
Martial Manipulation, Blaster secondary
Nerve Strike (Melee, immob and chance to stun, minor damage)
Chi Push (Melee, moderate damage, foe knockback)
Storm Kick
Caltrops
Focus Chi
Debilitate (Melee, target knockdown, chance to stun)
Quickness
Physical Perfection
Crane Kick
Berserker
Wild Nature, Mastermind primary with plants
Attacks would be thorn based. I'm thinking Thorny Darts, Fling Thorns and Thorn Burst from.. Uh, well, Thorns.
Summons being three weeds, humanoid creatues of tangled vines like the Devouring Earth, two Fly Traps ala Plant Control and a large SS/Plant tree ent as the final summon.
Level 18 unique could be Carrion Creepers for ease of transporting, or summoning a large immobile tree which greatly boosts the stats of nearby allies, but y'know, immobile and long recharge.
Riot Control, a natural/tech alternative for Control sets, featuring a grenade launcher.
Web Grenade
Taser
Wide Area Web Grenade
Glue Grenade
Water Cannon (Cone knockdown, chance to stun, a mystery stream of water is fired from behind you out of nowhere)
Choking Gas Grenade (AoE hold)
Sleep Grenade (Elec's patch sleep, replaces end drain with -def)
Rubber Slug (ST high knockback, mag 4 stun)
Summon Riot Team (Summons 3 Riot officers who only have Grant Cover, Phalanx Fighting and a ST stun shield bash which contains a small AoE taunt)
Power Armour, Dominator secondary
Wrist Burst (Wrist-mounted gun pops out, minor ranged damage)
Wrist Heavy Burst (Two-handed minor ranged cone)
Rocket Punch (Rocket powered uppercut, ST moderate damage with just enough knockup so they do a backflip)
Taser Grip (Melee stun, high Energy DoT)
Power Boost
High Powered Laser (Shoulder mounted gun pops up and charges it's shot, Superior energy damage snipe)
Power Release (PBAoE moderate Energy/Smashing damage, chance for knockdown)
Surveillance
Missile Barrage (Cone high Lethal damage, chance for additional damage like Full Auto, long recharge)
And finally, I would pay a king's ransom for the ever elusive Melee/Support Archetype.
Broadsword
Katana
Titan
Axe
Mace
Claws
Dual Blades
Spines
Electrical
Kinetic
Fire
Ice
Stone
Energy
Dark
Martial Arts
Super Strength
Dark Miasma
Radiation Emission
Storm Summoning
Empathy
Forcefields
Sonic Resonance
Traps
Kinetics
Cold Domination
Thermal Radiation
Trick Arrow
Poison
Obviously trim it down to what's balanced, but who wouldn't like to have a Katana/Trick Arrow Ninja? Fire Melee/Dark Miasma Demon? Martial Arts/Empathy Monk? Spines/Poison science experiment? What's that, survivability? Give them an inherant where their support powers give temporary +def and attacks temporary +res/regen. I'd imagine damage modifiers of the Tanker and support of the Mastermind.
What would you like to see, powerset or that kind of gameplay wise, in the store that you'd buy? -
Quote:Unless the intelligent thing you can do IS die. How many Tanks or Scrappers do you know with a giant, one-hit AoE stun? I've purposely grabbed too much aggro as a /Dark Scrapper before so I can make use of the self rez's stun so the team can catch a moment of peace to overcome an extra pulled group or accidental AV.but if you are going intelligently, there are only a handful of things out there that inherently deserve use of a desperation defense
On topic, I still want this set. While arguably Regeneration could gain the same effect of the reckless brawler who claws survivability from the brink of death, I think what can be considered an offense-driven Regen playstyle would be immensly fun to play especially with this being very toggle based allowing for more SMASH with whatever Berserker weapon you're wielding.
I wouldn't mind paying for this in the new PPoint store. -

On top of almost everything else suggested, I wouldn't mind;
50-100 points for a full set of any IO, untradeable so you can't just spam it out and destroy the market. Recieve it ingame via E-mail.
100-200 points for a full cosmetic unlock for one character. All 5 costume slots, all level 30 Auras, all level 20 Capes, everything here which isn't from a pack or pre-order and 5 costume tokens.
150-250 points for 12-24 hour buffs for one character. Acc/Dam, Res/Def, Rech/Recov, Mez/KB prot
50-100 points for 5 bars of Patrol XP for all characters on a server
200-300 points to unlock an Incarnate branch for one character.
100-200 points for double Incarnate XP for all characters for 24 hours. -
-
Longbow and PPD for Heroes with branching sets (Nullifier/Ballista, Seargent/Hardsuit with perma assault gun gloves and backpack like the Crab Spider), Nictus and Ruluruu for Villains with shape-shifts (Lobster/Squid, Natterling/Brute).
Once that's worked out, I'd love to see more uh.. Specialised/neutral concepts shown as an EAT, perhaps unlocked by getting an existing EAT to 20/50.
Swashbuckler gun/sword/defense for the pirate or dashing rogue characters
Magical set with high damage, buffs, debuffs, anything and everything the classic spell caster can do
Power suit with robot pets, rocket flight/jet pack based attacks, lasers, missiles, rocket punches etc
Time control/teleportation/reality manipulation, lots of buffs/debuffs and control and REALLY REALLY cool looking attacks
[Archetype] Incarnate, unlocking Incarnate content as they level with pumped up base stats compared to their AT counterpart. Dominator with constant Domination, Blaster with critical hit, Scrapper with Tank HP/defense scales, Brute with higher base damage/bigger Fury bar. Unlocked once you unlock the Omega slot maybe? -
New level 50+ zone with fresh Incarnate content. The alternate reality/prison that the Banished Pantheon were banished to, accessed via the Midnight Club. Looking a cross between the Shadow Shard, Dark Astoria and the Tiki Bar it would be a vast zone full of magic enemies and.. Something more.
A tear has formed from the Pantheon's attempted escapes and minions of Ruluruu have bled through. Heroes are sent in to investigate closing the tear to make sure the Banished Pantheon do not escape, Villains are sent to find ancient items of power used by the Pantheon for their own gain (think like Zeus' lightning bolts, Villains are sent to find Lughebu's actual idol, or Tomdala's Dagger).
Enemies in the zone would be invasion-level coded EBs and AVs and glyths of levitation (Magicy Jet Pack temps) would be purchasable. GM+1 incarnates of the various gods would spawn which drop 3 Astral Merits on defeat and grant 5% Physical and Psychic XP.
There would be two storyarcs and repeatable missions available. The first Hero arc would be about investigating what happened at the zone, the second would be on how it could be fixed. The first Villain arc would be on what the area is and what forces could be at play, the second would be on underhand tactics to find information from the Hero contacts/NPCs to use for personal gain. Completion of an arc would award 25% of a bar of Psychic of Physical XP or an Empyrean merit.
Repeatable missions would be a choice of a Defeat All or Defeat AV and split between BP and Ruluruu, with enemy groups being level 50 Boss and Elite Boss Ruluruu or Banished Pantheon (suped up BP to be on level with Ruluruu), all of which can drop threads. The defeat AV would not be able to scale down to an EB, but completion of the mission would award 1 Astral merit +5% of their respective XP. BP give Physical XP, Ruluruu give Psychic XP.
Hero Taskforce would send the team to finding a myriad of items used by the Pantheon to enact a spell to close the tear. Villain Taskforce would be to gain the same items to bring back to the Isles for use or profit, believing the Heroes will fix whatever the problem is. Completing a Taskforce gives the option of an Empyrean Merit, 50% of a bar of Physical or Psychic XP or an alignment mert (if you've got your alignment set for such).
I would have the taskforces randomised to be leading up to fighting a different god from the Banished Pantheon so they're fresh enough to be able to get Judgement, Lore, Interface and Destiny without it feeling like grinding. By doing both arcs and one Taskforce, you would be able to unlock one new Incarnate slot with a head start on the next, with a choice of repeatables to try and solo or a randomised Taskforce to complete for the rest. -
I think the WP regeneration is more supposed to show pure defiance against being taken down, but I see most sets open to interpretation. I've taken Willpower's regeneration to be forcefields, actual regeneration, repairing power suits. Punisher's avoidance of what would normall kill a normal person (WP's defense to E/N/F/C), his body armour (S/L resist) and tenacity against being slowed down/stopped (regeneration/+hp) is how I see it, similarly to Batman and Joker.
-
I picture Wolverine as a Claws/Willpower Brute, since his regeneration works in bursts, plus he's just generally tough/resistant to damage and does try to get out of the way of things which'll really cause damage, all of which are shown through the powerset.
I also count in the likes of Joker (MA/WP Scrapper with alternate animations), Rorschach (MA/WP Stalker with alternate animations), Green Lantern (kinda, if Energy Blast/WP was possible. I guess Energy or Kinetic melee would work), Punisher (AR/WP would be sweet), Lobo (WP/SS Tanker), more MA/WP scrappers by way of Wildcat, The Question, Batman (sometimes).. -
Quote:Blue Steel*SS/Shield is boring and silly. Martial Arts/Shield is good, bouncy fun and visually more in keeping with the Captain America concept.
Do show respect for your, and all our, superior.
I would suggest MA/Shield if you want to try and get into a Shield character. I'll also second the Dark/Fire Brute suggestion. -
I've six slot mine with Mocking Beratement for the 1.8 end, 2.5% S/L defense and 7.5% recharge, as well as Taunt. Helps keep a single target on my Tank just by keeping the Bruising effect on, plus with them being Inv/SS the above bonuses are really good -especially- since all 6 enhancements cost me about 40m

Quote:Every Player Is Creative.EPIC
Yes, in all capital letters. If you write it as "Epic," or in a font that isn't considerably bigger than the surrounding text, you must be talking about something else. I'll leave it to everyone's imagination to try to come up with some kind of ret-conned acronym (retronym?) for which it stands.
So yeah that'd work -perfectly- -
I'd also like to add that there be a 6th power added to epic/patron pools for having three other powers, so only available at level 49 if all your 41+ powers are from the pool.

Can you see it?
Taken 5 minutes ago on Union, it looks so lonely just standing there, staring at the Talos station like a lost puppy. All it's friends left the poor thing behind
