So for the people that bought CoH and CoV what do we get.
[/ QUOTE ]
Debt wipe and free prestige.
[/ QUOTE ]
And for those of us who already have both CoH/CoV, have zero debt, and aren't members of Supergroups?
Out of curiosity, what do we get?

I found a pretty serious bug in the closed Beta already: I can't log in to the test server nor are the beta testers-only forums showing in my list of available forums.
Like I said, that's a bad bug. Please fix.

Actually, the way I'd handle it is that any tell containing the word "PKPKG-EIEIO.COM" (or whatever) would automatically *not* get sent, the teller would be instantly and globally lose their ablility to send tells until someone could check them out. This would ESPECIALLY apply if the toon were under lvl 10 or so...

Now, back to the design grind... anyone know a good way to pick a handcuff with a mechanical pencil, a Hero Clix, and a poker chip?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure. DC or Marvel?

Can we get one thing clarified, please. If I'm doing /ignore_spammer because of an RMT tell, is that enough to get the folks dealt with or do you really want us to send a /petition too? I can understand needing the follow-up petition for other types of "disruptive behavior", but for things as blatant as RMT tells I really don't think anything beyond /ignore_spammer should be necessary.
[/ QUOTE ]
A petition to follow up, in whatever case, is always ideal.
[/ QUOTE ]
So what's the point of having an /ignore_spammer command then? Previously, I'd type /ignore then send in a petition and now I type /ignore_spammer and send in a petition. This hasn't saved me any time and gotten me back to defeating those evil villains/do-gooding vigilantes any quicker.

See, everybody whined and cried about the red alerts being annoying, now the new alerts are damn near invisible. Personally I didnt mind the old alerts and wish they back the way they used to be.
Whiners once again win . . . a sad trend indeed.

Add me to the agreement list as well.
An invasion event is supposed to be a potential "your world is ending" event. So it's posted in green? The same green as the "Now entering the Gish" messages we've all trained ourselves to not bothering to look at?
Please put them back to red.

Not to wish harm on Paragon City, but... I hope the Rikti fleets return in force again soon -- preferably on weekends so us working stiffs can fight and fight and fight some more...

San Diego ComicCon was, as always, great fun. Somehow it seems like they were able to crowbar even more people into the convension center this year than last. While this made getting to some panels difficult, if not downright impossible (curse you HEROES panel!) this just served to rev up the atmosphere down on the floor.
Kudos to Lighthouse and the other people running the NCSoft booth for their always upbeat mood despite long hours and endlessly having to answering the same questions over and over. I was lucky enough to meet Lighthouse and he's just as friendly in person as he is on these boards -- even if he wouldn't spill the beans regarding details of the upcoming Publish 11...

I wasn't aware California constituted most of the world.

On the road, heading for San Diego ComicCon. Save me a few of them scrawny-looking Rikti things, I'll be online tonight.
To Battle!

Anyone from Cryptic and/or NCSoft coming to San Diego ComicCon next week? All the cool kids will be there....

Lighthouse will be in attendance at both Comicon (San Diego) and PAX (Seattle) so rattle his cage or make suggestions on a place where you all can get together and talk about trowing tings.

Cool, cool! I'm looking forward to stopping by the NCSoft booth. At least this year double XP weekend isn't the same weekend as ComicCon!

Okay, thanks for the response. I think you're absolutely right, there should be room in my build for both jumping and speed. Jumping is so cool anyway. I was just trying to figure out if there was something I was missing.
-Buxley -
Thanks for the guide! This is exactly what I was looking for.
One question I have is what does an Archery/Devices blaster do for defenses? It appears that Cloaking Device is the only thing we have. Is that right? I'm level 13 and I'm getting tired of the Council (and others) knocking me down.
BTW, my travel power is going to be Super Speed, so Acrobatics won't help...

When you get the vandals are trashing the city , if you're quick you can actually arrive well in advance of them. best to wait for them or get some altitude to see where they're coming from and intercept them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really?!? That's very confusing then. If the message is "Vandals are trashing the city" I assumed they were already there and I had best get there quickly.
If the Vandals have not yet arrived, I can see two problems:
<ul type="square">[*]The police dispatcher knows where the Vandals will be attacking (either they know the future or are on the take), and,[*]If I have to wait a minute for a spawn that only gives me an extra 90 seconds on my mission timer, what's the point?[/list]
Ah well. I have great faith that the Devs will have this all resolved quickly. The problems with this publish are minuscule compared to those I've experienced on other MMOs. (For example, publish day on Star Wars: Galaxies generally broken more features broken than added.)

When I claim my Preorder Sprint Power reward, the button doesn't get removed from the badge window. I can keep clicking on it and seeing the "Veteran Reward Claimed!" text pop up over and over again.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this is intentional. I think in test when one of the Veteran respecs was used the veteran sprint award would disappear and players would have no way to get them back. So to counter this, the devs set it up so that players can claim the sprint reward as many times possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yuck. I don't like having these non-badge reward "badges" cluttering up my list of badges earned. I wish the veteran reward claim buttons could get moved out of the badge info pane when I look at other characters (or when they look at me).
For example, it's nice to be able to look at some Hero/Villain and see that they've explored such-and-such a place. I do *not* need to know that the have a slide reward they can claim.
In fact, I find the whole notion of seeing how long the PLAYER has played displayed on a toon's info sheet rather... what's the word? Immersion breaking? OTOH, I know people are proud of how long they've played.
Perhaps the veteran reward badges (Faithful, etc.) could be moved from the top of the Info panel to the bottom? I know they're at the top 'cause they're the new thing, but they aren't the most important badges... (IMHO of course)

I ran my first Safeguard mission last night with my lvl 7 archer blaster. The mission was in Atlas Park despite being gotten in Kings Row from Detective Frietag. (I assume all his missions are true, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent
).
I got to the bank and got the expected "a bank robbery is in progress" message when I got a hundred feet away or so. I went inside and was immediately jumped by a spines villain and vazilok accomplices. Defeated the villain and got the "mission success" message.
So far, so good.
Killing, excuse me, *defeating* random bad guy spawns on the streets didn't add to my timer, so I quickly ignored those. Perhaps I should get 30 seconds for each one so it's worth it to me to be defeating them.
BAD BUG: Periodically I would get "Vandals are trashing the City" messages. However, when going to the red dot on my map there was often (roughly 2/3rds of the time) no Vazilok there to be kil... er, defeated. That was very annoying. As my friend watching over my shoulder said, "Wow, what a bad bug." So I ended up having no good way to add to my rapidly dwindling timer.
I did find a side mission, prevent a vault door from being blown, but mismanaged aggro on the spawns near said door and was killed. I woke up in the middle of the street (near my original entrance point I think), went back to the mission, and saw that the vault door was already open. I assume that means a side-mission failure, but never got and message confirming that fact.
All in all, I will certainly try Safeguard missions again, but hope some of the problems get addressed soon.
Oh, and being a badge-completeist, I hope that my lvl 37 scrapper will soon be able to easily take safeguard missions in zones he has outleveled.
