Holy crap! Did not see that coming. Very nicely written. -- so when is a new City of Heroes novel coming out?
In any case, sounds like we have a fun event coming up soon!

Quote:My guess would be several days to (at most) a week. New issues are generally pushed live early in the week in case Something Bad™ happens and they have to spend the next few days fixing it. Devs like having weekends too."*Well*" meaning what, a week? Two weeks? A month? (Guessing not the latter at this point.)
Just sayin'... I usually don't take the day off for issue releases, but if I were going to, I'd need 2 weeks notice to put in for vacation time.
In any case, they won't specify a date until they know they can make that date with a product that's stable and working on all platforms. Once they feel they have a stable product, there's not point is delaying any more than they have to.
So my guess is that Issue 21 will go live the Tuesday after they feel they have a stable product.

Ah, good. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one seeing these issues. Two evenings ago the BAF escapees were rubber-banding all over the walkways and, even in non-trial solo missions, my attack power animations would sometimes be shown and sometimes not.
Using /netgraph 1, I saw many more solid red bands than is usual.
Hope this helps,

Heh. I like the singe mark left on the ground by the Overcharge power.
I'm looking forward to playing Beam Rifle. I have two character concepts in mind and no, neither one of them is Master Chief.
Maybe with Beam Rifle I'll finally get a non-melee character to level 50. Well, it could happen!

Got the Trucker badge on my shiny new level 50 brute (did I mention how much I love double XP weekends?) but still can't ski worth a lick on the slopes. I've got the bronze medal on both courses and and am unlikely to do much better.

Welcome to City of Heroes, Fansy!
Watch out for the villains, some of them bite. Some of the heroes do too, come to think of it, but that's a different topic...

Wow... Those are frickin' sweet! They look much nicer, er, much more menacing that the CoT bathrobe-types we've been fighting for years while still clearly being CoTs.
Death Mages are the stuff of nightmares.
I can't wait to see these guys in the game. Well done art team!

The Paragon Store looks very cool and I have a feeling I'll be using it more than I should.
(But I *NEED* more character slots and costume slots and super duper inspirations and... )
Anyway, one concern I have is that the description of items to be bought seems a little on the terse side. I would like to see a "More Info" button that brings up a window with more information such as:
- Is item for one character or account wide
- Numeric stats where appropriate, e.g. super inspirations duration/percentages, travel powers's speeds, etc.
- List of power sets' powers, damage types, etc.
- In-store (not just in costume creator) pics of costume parts
- etc.
I can't wait for this to ship!

My expectations were pretty low on the new Thundercats. I never saw the original (don't judge me!) so don't have the original to compare with it but I have to say I really enjoyed the new series. I'm looking forward to seeing new episodes.
Now if only COH came up with a quarterstaff melee powerset like Cheetara used. That'd be cool. =)

Quote:You can stop being disappointed. As others have said, the Devs have confirmed that the new powersets, Beam Rifle and Street Justice, are purchasable via the Paragon Store. I don't recall and official answer on Titan Weapons which makes sense since it's a post Issue 21 powerset.Well I asked - TWICE - about whether or not the new powersets (excluding time manipulation) would be restricted to those with T9 only, and no answer, so that pretty much confirms it as far as I'm concerned.
Very disappointing.
The latest known information on Issue 21 is available on the Paragon Wiki at http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Issue_21

Yeah, I'm disappointed too, BUT I'm very glad they found the problem and are fixing it now, before double XP weekend starts. I'd much rather have a working double XP weekend in two weeks than a crappy, non-functional double XP weekend now.
But if the Devs want to make it up to us with another double XP weekend in 3 or 4 months I wouldn't complain either. Just sayin'. =)
-Buxley -
Um... will this be handled like Incarnate Trial testing and costume code giveaway of a few months ago where some of us ran a bunch of trials and then found out the costume codes only went to those who stayed and partied with the Devs in Pocket D?
Not that I'm still bitter or anything... :-P
-Bux -
I agree completely: especially now since we miss two or three safeguard/mayhem missions going through the Praetoria content.
Another solution to this problem would be to, once you unlock a safeguard/mayhem mission, you get to choose which bank you want to save/rob from a list of banks available at your current level. But I guess that wouldn't take temporal scaling into account. Hmm. Yeah, better make it through Ouroboros then.
-Buxley -
Very cool, Leandro. Thanks for taking the time to put this all together!

Quote:Tough decisions and sacrifices had to be made. We had to destroy First Ward in order to save it.Couldn't Tyrant and Anti-matter have come up with a plan that didn't involve the deaths of thousands of citizens? Like, say, using people with superpowers to evacuate the people?

Has anyone ever seen the Slender Man and Null the Gull at the same time? They both seem to have shown up at around the same time...
Just sayin'.
-Buxley -
I'm loving having the Carnies Lore pets as an option. My one disappointment is that all but one of the Carnie lore powers includes a Strongman and (for concept reasons) my toon wants female Carnies. The pretty much limits me to the Radial option...
Is there a way to fix that?

Quote:Well I gotta say Protean, I was mighty pissed when you blew up my gorram cloning facility that I had stolen fair and square! It is always a pleasure to hear people enjoying the stories we tell and that the heart strings we pluck are making sweet sweet music. I'm especially happy that many of the emotional beats we aimed for with Going Rogue resonated so well. I'm having a good time reminiscing with you all as story arcs are mentioned (and smiling when an arc I wrote is mentioned).
Thank you all for the kind words.

Power Set Proliferation 3.0 is *not* going to help my alt-itis.
(This isn't a complaint, merely an observation.)
Issue 21: best issue or best issue ever?
-Buxley -
Quote:Really? Sorry, I have to call bull on this one. Why doesn't BAB have the same look of "both shock and fear" then? Why not make BABs look like a scared little blowup doll? Because he's a guy and guys have to look strong even in the face of "a world threatening event" but it's okay to make women look scared and weak because, you know, they're girls.Sister Psyche's expression is one of both shock and fear, which we consider an appropriate reaction to an apocalyptic storm of death and destruction hurtling at her from above. As a member of the Freedom Phalanx, nothing short of a world threatening event could evoke this kind of reaction from her.
The above being said, we have been paying attention to your thoughts. We'll be making some very subtle adjustments to the image which address these concerns while still preserving its artistic integrity.
I'm really looking forward to COH:Freedom but, that said, I think you guys dropped the ball on this one.
Disappointed,
-Buxley -
Quote:Thank you! Your Invulnerability guides are very helpful -- dare I call them... awesome?None of the numbers have changed; the only real change that effects the guide is the inherent Fitness pool change in issue 19. Incarnate buffs also are a factor but obviously only for level 50 players.
-Buxley -
Great post, as someone new to tanking, this will be of great help to me as I try and create a SS/Inv tanker.
Are the numbers given in the original post still current or have these sets changed since August of '09?
Thanks,
-Buxley
