    FYI

    Castle,

I appreciate the response, but the impression your giving is that User documented bugs in a friendly and well thought out format only get attention from developers willing to put in an extra amount of overtime out of the goodness of their hearts rather than having dedicated resources to address these very serious concerns.

At the very least you give the impression that the community doing these things is pretty much a wasted time and are/have been likely ignored for a very long time as player concerns are basicly being/have been ignored.

Like I said, I very much appreciate you looking at these issues Castle, but to me this just re-enforces the notion that the dedicated users are being ignored. It certainly explains why the fact that Controller Storm powers have been operating at Defender Strength or better for over a year.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not it at all. Many of the issues in the list already make it into our bug database. Most of the things I am looking at are considered fairly low priority in the grand scheme of things. Yes, I know that there are some fairly egregious issues on the various user compiled bug lists, and they should probably be higher priority than they are -- and that is why I take time during my lunch hour and when generating data from spreadsheets to look at issues that are important to you guys, rather than just looking at our bug database.

As for other community reps, that's on the "Things to do" list. After CoV beta ended, we decided we wanted to continue the idea, but being short on personnel, especially those who have an in depth knowledge of the powers system, we've not yet decided how to go about it. It will probably happen at some point in the not so distant future, but it is also possible we never get a properly trained core group to divvy up the responsibilities effectively.

In the meantime, I do what I can.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just curious, do they have a Blaster rep in mind yet? We wanna know if anything is being done with the secondaries yet

It's all so confusing!! Anyone else happen to notice that in Issue 3 of the Top Cow comic, Recluse says "My sister sends her regards" but how the heck would he know?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe she turned evil, died and became Ghost Widow?

    [/ QUOTE ]
No for one thing GW was in the fight when Recluse said that and the other thing was her name is something Italian, I just dont remember exactly what it was.

Odd...I went to my local bookstore and they said the book wasn't coming out for another 3 weeks!

    Don't trust them.

I went to Books-A-Million, and they said they didn't have, and weren't expecting, any copies. I was looking in the fantasy/science fiction section for something else to read, and I saw it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I went to Waldenbooks (smaller book store owned by Borders) and they said it wasn't in their computer as Web of Arachnos. I found it in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section and it turns out that the book is listed as City of Heroes not the actual book title.
  4. Oh yeah and all hail josh for the luddites and jetpack jokes!
  5. [ QUOTE ]
You guys need to add Josh to your permanently favourite Dev list because Cap au Diable was his zone and he did the dialogue for the Gold Brickers and Luddites.

And he is, in fact, quite hilarious, even if he doesn't have a cool board name.

However, if anything in Mercy, Port Oakes, Siren's Call, Nerva Archipelago, or Bloody Bay made you smile - then I'll accept compliments.

Josh and I did a tag-team effort on St. Martial. (Actually, Sharkhead, too, since we took it over once it was already populated, but we did do the dialogue.)

He did Cap and Warburg solo.

    Just to clarify.

    WW

P.S. I'll definitely be passing on along your compliments. He'll get a kick out of that.

If War Witch got the Crey Scientist to say

"Haha! Those codes are useless without the proper decoding information!

    ...

Wait, I wasn't supposed to say that"

    , then I agree with you 100%

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Stop all the talk about PSP's & DS's!

Last thing we need is for Statesman to get a hold of one and say "now THIS is gaming, I gotta call positron up and institute a new set of nerfs so CoV is more like my PSP...Maybe we should restrict the screen size to 3x2 inches!"

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Rofl.
  11. The DS does have potential. A touch-screen game is, if done right, really fun. But Nintendo, although they are trying to change their image, mostly makes kids games. Maybe if Microsoft made a touch-screen attachment for the 360 we might have some interesting games.

Soooooooo, Is anybody gonna tell us what PSP means??

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm gonna guess your kidding but humor you anyway
A PSP is a Handheld Playstation. Costs a lot. And is making the DS look RREEEEAAAALLLL dumb.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Something I heard a Luddite say tonight: "Just say NO to the Orange Pipes of Doom!"

That made me laugh. Did you write that, WW?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Hehe yeah thats a good one to
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    *smiles* I didn't write that.

    Can I be your second-fave?

Its a list so of course you can still be on it! Alot of the areas in CoV look really cool! Can't wait to see Grandville. From the descriptions I've heard on what it will look like it reminds me of one of the Drow cities from the Forgotten Realms books. Something that starts with a C i think....
Also, just curious who did write the PSP line? My bro wont stop asking >,<

You guys are probably way into something already, or are already are working on something similar to this but, how about a 2nd tutorial? One that starts you in the Rogue Isles. Since some people like to say no one has ever caught them.

    How It Begins

Starting out with the Hero's bio.

    The Obsidian Arrow
Donnia Marks walked down the dark street when a hand grabbed her and yanked her into an alley. The Hellion pulled her close and laughed at her frightened expression. He began teasing her with his knife. He reached as if to stab her, but instead cut the handle of her purse. He made a break for it and stopped all of a sudden. As he fell down, Donnia noticed an arrow was stuck in the thief's heart. A dark figure slowly levitated down to the dead man. Donnia thought her luck couldn't get any worse, now she was being attacked by a super villain! He reached down for her purse then turned to her. As he walked forward she almost cried out in fear. When he raised his hand she feared he would strike her down but instead, he gave her her purse. She opened her eyes to say thanks but the mysterious hero had dissappeared. That is the way of The Obsidian Arrow.

    The Nemesis' Tale

    The Red Sword
Donnia Marks walked through the streets once more. It had been a week since her mugging and being saved by that mysterious hero. She almost laughed when another Hellion tried to take her new purse. She stopped laughing when he told her he was a good friend of the Hellion who died mugging her. He cut her wrist and she fell on the ground in pain. He laughed, kicked her, than ran out of the alley with her new purse. He jerked to the side and cried out in pain. Donnia opened her eyes and saw what she though was yet another silent savior. He picked up her purse then started moving towards her. She smiled and stood up to greet him but when she looked into his eyes, she didn't see the kindness she saw in the hero. She saw a cold hate-filled look there and she started to run away. He teleported in front of her with his sword pointed straight out. Donnia ran right into it. The killer watched her shocked expression as he yanked out his sword and she fell to the ground. He turned to walk away but then had an evil idea. He grabbed a black arrow from a pouch on his cape and put it into the sword wound. It was time to have some real fun.

    CoH/CoV Teaming

    [ QUOTE ]
How about a TF where you are fighting a bad guy so bad that it threatens the whole earth or something. Like the new X-men Xbox game. Brotherhood and X-Men fighting Apocolypse, etc.

    CoH/CoV Teaming

    [ QUOTE ]
I read this in a Q&A, forget which site. The reason this isn't in the game yet (if ever) is because it would be too easy for players to grief each other. Villain quits team and attacks heroes while they're resting after a fight, leading them into a trap, playing poorly on purpose, etc. If they can figure ways around this, it could be added.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think that would be cool. It would definitely make me feel villainous to betray you suckers... i mean good buddies... But I spose you could make something like when you get kicked from teams or dropped off a tf where youre auto kicked outta the mission
  23. But if he's missing.... WTH IS GONNA MAKE THE NEXT UPDATE!!! HE PROMISED! PROMISED I SAY!!!!!!!!!!
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Clarification - Monsters in TF's do not count towards the badges for those monsters (Adamastor or Jurrassic for ex). It has been this way for some time.

Also - after much pushing and shoving - we were told that there will NOT be data mining for TF badges. So if you did a TF before I5 - when I5 goes live you will not get a badge for it auto-magically.

I know - it stinks - I'm sorry about that.

**edited to read correctly - note on top of all that - Babbage that is in the TF will give you the badge - IF your group does the most damage to it - if someone helps you defeat Babbage - you may not get it if your team does not do the majority of the damage**

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cuppa, you DO know how long and painful those stupid Shadow Shard tfs are? you cant even datamine those? ugh ill never be able to sit through those tfs a second time.
