NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! the end is near two dev post in the blaster forum with in a month!

    DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    And in the same thread
  2. Pstorm cast a confused glance at Darkstorm as he sent her the message.

Burning opened the door, and stepped back in surprise as a wad of goo splattered over them all, no matter what they attempted to avoid it.

"If this is another virus that leaves us twenty-four hours to live, I'm gonna be pissed," said Burning as he tried to wipe some of it off.

The Uniter remained in the back of the group, grimacing he cleared some of the stuff from his eyes, and pulled out a scanner. He spent a few moments waving it in front of himself before he was satisfied. "It's not poisonous. Not sure what it's for, but it isn't going to kill anyone."

Burning looked at the solid brick wall behind the door, and even pressed a hand to the stone to make sure it wasn't an illusion, before shutting the door and moving on.
  3. Pstorm stopped, hearing the familiar voice. She turned to around and said, "Oh, hello Cort." She still wasn't sure why the other girl had followed her so much on that other planet. Blightlord's undead had taken her out of the 'game' pretty quickly.
  4. Pstorm looked at Darkstorm and sighed. If he started to hit on her again, there'll be lightning this time.

Burning looked up as Acid appeared. "Welcome to the party," he said grimly. "If Blightlord's really the one who organized this, we should probably start trying to find him. C'mon."

Burning began walking towards on of the many doors in the large hall, Danica and Pstorm following close behind.
  5. A man walked through the destroyed city, when a woman stepped out of the fog in front of him.

"I told you not to meet me here," he said.

"Why? Worried little Extinguisher will find you?"

"I told you not to mention that name!"

"You're getting weak, Burning. I have no idea why I agreed to marry you," said Danica, walking away.

"Take that back!" he said, his eyes flaring brightly. She casually flipped him off and kept walking.

Burning roared and charged at her, firing a large blast of flames. Danica quickly ducked under it, smirking that she had gotten under his skin so easily.

As her husband attempted to tackle her, she ducked under him, and slammed both fists into his abdomen.

Burning doubled over, clutching his stomach, and was knocked to the ground as a booted foot kick him in the back.

He whirled around, throwing a wide burst that caught Danica off guard, causing her to cry out as she was flung away. Danica quickly recovered, landing on both feet, and spring back at Burning to deliver a vicious palm strike to his face.

He reeled, and fell back. He looked down as something dropped onto his glove.

    Blood.

He snarled, and charged again. Danica quickly leapt up to meet him, fingers aimed for the killing blow. They came together, and everything exploded in a brillaint flash of fire.

The smoke cleared, and one form lay lifeless as the other moved on as if nothing had happened.

    --------------------

"I will stand for this no longer!" said Blightlord, pacing back and forth. "That fool will learn the consequences of betraying his true nature. This mere copy will fall."

"Perhaps we are the copies, my lord," said Grime with an amused smirk.

"Are the troops ready?" asked Blightlord, pretending he hadn't heard the Lich.

"Yes, my lord, though I have to wonder, how do you plan to get there?"

"It took me several months, but while we 'visited' Portal Corporation, I found the codes to this 'Praetorian Earth,' and managed to translate them into a spell," he replied as he threw an orb at the large mirror in the center of the stone room.

Grime nodded, and followed his master as they stepped inside. Little did they know, soon things would never be the same.
  6. "Nice to see your brain didn't rot with the rest of you," Danica muttered.

"If Blightlord did this, I think we'd be locked in a cell filling with poison gas right now. Letting us get together and make plans isn't exactly his style," said Burning.

There was a flash, and a man in a brown duster hat and trenchcoat appeared. He dusted himself off, and glanced at the gathering. "Well, well, well. Who do we have here?" said The Uniter.

A few more flashed, and several men appeared around him, the thugs that seemed to follow him everywhere.
  7. Pstorm was starting to get a headache just hearing this guys random thoughts. She looked down at his hand, and was sure that if she touched it, it would somehow bite her.

She just waved, and said, "Hi," before walking back towards Hal and Essex where it was 'safe.'
  8. Danica crouched low as Toy aimed the rifle at them.

"I didn't do this," Burning protested. "How do I know this wasn't your idea? This place definitely looks your style, Archlich."

Pstorm glanced back at her parents, and the two villains, when Hallucinogen appeared beside her. "Hal?"
  9. "Begin," echoed a voice across the large stone cavern.

Liches raised hands high, and began speaking the words of a spell. A series of short barks, and wails. The walls shook as their chanting grew faster and louder. An orb of energy hung in their circle, steadily growing larger.

Finally, it exploded. The Liches were consumed in the blast.

A man stepped down from a large throne, and grasped the orb in his hand. "Let the games begin."

    ------------------------

Burning Brawler quickly ducked under Jurassik's arm as it swung for his head, firing a blast up at it's face before rolling away to the edge of the cave wall.

Danica ran up along the arm, at delivered a strong kick to its head that cracked the stone.

"Are you alright?" she called back down to her husband, quickly leaping off to avoid being smashed by the car Jurassik carried.

    "Yeah! Pstorm, soak it!"

Rachel nodded, raising both hands to the sky. A large rain cloud formed, soon drenching the rock monster. It howled in annoyance, but its howls soon turned to cries of pain as a lightning bolt raced down.

The Obsidian Arrow quickly spun around the creature, dropping several small orbs. He ran up onto a ledge, and shouted, "Stand back!" before pressing a button on his wrist.

The orbs detonated, and Jurassik came tumbling to the ground.

The monster howled as it sat, its legs fully destroyed. It flailed at Danica with the large car it used as a club. It smacked into her, and sent her flying into a wall.

Burning winced and rushed over to help her, not noticing the rocks shaking as they began to piece themselves together.

Pstorm quickly swung her arms out wide, sending a whirlwind at the stones. They were caught up and launched into the ceiling, smashing into dust.

Jurassik howled and attempted to smash her flat, but was stopped as a grenade-tipped arrow slammed into its face.

The headless rock monster stopped, and fell to the ground.

Danica shook her head as she chewed the green 'gum' Burning had given her.

The two stood and looked at the broken mound of rocks. "Task Force complete, guys," said Burning with a grin.

Pstorm looked at the shiny badge that appeared in her hand, an equally large grin appearing as she slid it into her pouch.

Arrow sped down to them, holding a large rock. "Souveneir," he explained, pocketing it.

"Alright, let's head out. Numina will want to know how we did," said Burning, pressing a button on his medi-porter. The others nodded, and did the same.

Arrow appeared outside the cave, and looked around. "Burning? Danica? ... Anyone?"

"DEVOUR HIM!" shouted several creatures as they charged.

    "God damnit, not again!"

    ---------------------

Burning, Pstorm, and Danica looked around. They were inside a large stone hall that looked straight from a medeival fairy tale.

    Or maybe Dracula.

They looked about, readying for a fight, when several flashed appeared around them.

    The others were arriving.

    -------------------

((Welcome. You knew this day would come. Not one soul has ever evaded his revenge forever. Now, it is about to be taken on you.

You claimed your victories, relished in his defeat, though few they were. Now, the game is set, and you will get exactly what is coming to you.

May your last few moments be filled with terror, and despair.

    -Blightlord

(One hero and one villain per person. Send me a private message first with who you wish to enter. This thread won't remain open for long. You must have encountered Blightlord, and fought against him, to enter that character. Standard Roleplay courtesy rules apply.

    Good luck.)))
  10. What I'd really like to see (but don't ever expect to get) is a reduction to the Nuke recharge time.

I miss that quick recharging, kill 20 things at once Inferno *sighs*

In an upcoming patch, here are a few things you'll see:
Increased EDIT:Maximum ranges for attacks like Blaze.
Some improvements for */Fire (No, no powers were switched out. No Fiery Embrace, I'm afraid. )
    Some improvements for Fire/*
A very minor improvement for Gadgets...I mean, Devices! (Yeah, it was a dumb mistake -- typing in haste and all of that.)

Let Bitter Ice Blast be your guide in adjusting the high-damage attacks. Never made sense to me why BIB was so much longer than the other attacks in the first place.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What is Ice's exchange for not having a snipe then?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Two single target holds probably. Also, the best animation times of any set and one of the best secondary effects on its blasts.

Snipes aren't that hot anyways, haven't been since ED. Anyhow, Archery's Blazing Arrow (the archery 3rd single target blast) already outranges BiB, and Archery has a Snipe too. I don't know that theres a spreadsheet where having a snipe is equated to other powers in some sort of numerical fashion. I suspect that there isn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Have you ever used the Archery snipe? Not quite worth the interruptability.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All the snipes are interrtuptable. I wasn't making any kind of point about the specific value of Archery's snipe. The person I was responding to was obviously putting forth the idea that Ice Blast's greater range on its third single target blast, Bitter Ice Blast compared to, for example, Energy Blast's , is a compensation for the lack of a Snipe in Ice Blast.

Archery, as I point out, has both a third single target attack, Blazing Arrow, that outranges Bitter Ice Blast, and Archery also has a Snipe.

Therefore, the range on Bitter Ice Blast is not necessarily something that was based on the lack of a Snipe in Ice Blast.

And this is all a very long way of explaining what my original post already freaking said!

I do hope you get it now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*peeks up* Ah, I see your confusion. What I meant was, Archery's snipe does very low damage for a power of its kind. With the interrupt inside it, for a lot of people its not worth even using situationally.

  13. Well, what about Blazing Aura? I don't think I've even seen a Blapper with that power, but I could be wrong. The only possible use it could have would be to keep enemies away, but since it doesn't have a fear effect, all you accomplish is getting them to attack you at melee if you get close enough to hit them with it.

Tons of people still play on the U.S. servers and haven't switched over when they became able to because of the friends they made.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, what I meant by that was, in the post by Lighthouse that was mentioned earlier, he was speaking to the entire forum, correct? Would that not include those people?

Or did I miss read something.... again... >.>
  15. Tons of people still play on the U.S. servers and haven't switched over when they became able to because of the friends they made.

Back on topic, I'm really glad to see you posted here _Castle_, and it's nice to get a response from a Dev. After several un-replied to PMs I was starting to wonder if anything was even planned on.

I'll remain optimistic til I see what the changes are, and we are at least getting something. Really curious what the change to the Fire sets will be.
  16. I've sent PMs as well, but I have never received a response either. Lighthouse has been on a sort of roll lately with answering questions, I was thinking he might see this and let us know what's up.
  17. A while back, the Devs were discussing examining the Blaster Secondaries to try to make them more effective. I know that Electric, Energy, and Devices get a lot of use from Blappers or mine + TP-foe'rs, but you don't see that many /Ice or /Fire. I believe that was mainly why they were checking out the Secondaries.

Just curious, but was this dropped, put further back on the schedule, still working on it, but not mentioned much?
  18. Burning_Brawler_NA

    RPvP planning?

    Sounds interesting to me.
  19. Burning_Brawler_NA

    Attention all.

    Soviet's back!

  20. I once though to 'continue' my main's story, by combining him with a Nictus. I really missed using fire, so I wrote a story in where the Nictus revealed it truly had evil intentions.

Burning Brawler forced it out through willpower, and now Nictus Brawler is added to his extensive list of arch-enemies.
  21. Hmmm... I can't think of any off the top of my head. Have you also posted in the Guardian forums? I know it's not as active, but there are some pretty good people over there who check it regularly.

I also play on Guardian, so if you need anything, send @Burning Brawler a tell.
  22. *Blightlord reaches out to a passing zombie* You! Why have you not returned with my regeants yet?

    "Zombie": Rofl0l dud3, y0u 1ook so g@y!1! Wh0 you supsed to be?/?

    Blightlord: *eye twitch*

*Kids cry out as their candy flies away from them. Void Brawler appears in an ally with the bags* Void: "Halloween rules."
  23. Here's what I think on Masterminds in Roleplaying threads, especially in fight threads.

Masterminds should be able to put up a fight, but of course, the player should be using personal judgement on how strong to make them.

If, let's say, Burning Brawler is going against Blightlord alone, Blightlord should have a good shot at taking him down by himself. But if Blightlord happens to have his full group of henchman with him, once the henchies are out of the way, the Mastermind should be in trouble, and need to make his pre-planned escape or fight as best he can, and hope the hero has been weakened enough by the minions to be finished off.

My own personal opinion, which may be biased.
  24. This is just a thread to outline some of the rules or suggestions of what to do (or not do) to avoid annoying or alienating people in the threads here, or really anywhere on a forum.

If you know one I missed, please, add it, just remember to stay constructive and not to point fingers. Perhaps this can get stickied if we keep it so.

One thing that can ruin you from the first post, or impress people greatly, is your grammar and spelling. If people see every other word lookn glike ths then they'll likely think you're a roleplayer to avoid. It doesn't matter how great your ideas are if we can barely understand them.

Another thing is basic grammar. Periods, commas, posts that aren't just one very large paragraph, things like that will make the difference between an easy to read post, and the self-gouging of your fellow roleplayers' eyes.

Another thing I needed to be taught myself: don't assume. Yes, typically in game when you use Noxious Gas the enemy bends over and loses his lunch, but we have characters here who may be incapable of such a reaction. And just because typically an unsuspecting Defender can be killed by a Stalker in two or three hits doesn't mean you can write it so. Let people respond to your actions, which brings me to the next point.

Don't auto-control, as in, don't roleplay other peoples' characters for them unless they ask you to. Some other boards let you do that for the sake of getting the story moving more quickly, but here at least, we don't do that.

And if someone has an odd time zone compared to yours, be patient and wait for them, because they will likely be waiting just as long for you to respond.

A rule in nearly every thread, is don't god-mode, which has more meanings than just your strength. True, you shouldn't be able to one-shot any enemy, blow up entire cities in one large attack, or survive said city-destroying blow 'just cause', but you should try to avoid making your characters omni anything. No character should be all-powerful, or know literally everything about everyone, or be everywhere at once, at least not without reasonable explanation.

Now, there is nothing you can say that will make people okay with you having every single attack in every powerset (over-exaggeration but you get the point), but if you say you know this has happened because the spy bots you sent to scour the planet a few pages ago picked up on the conversation, that's fine. Just remember though, that if someone is trying to develop an arc, and they make it fairly clear they need something about their conversation to remain secret, then common courtesy would say you missed what they said.

Technically, if you have some sort of portal, you can get across large distances fairly easily, but if someone says they have an anti-teleportation shield up, don't expect them to let you get away with saying you got in.

Now, when you explain why you can do something, or why they can't, make sure you have an honest reason, and not something you just pulled out of the air because you don't want to lose the fight or don't want to be bothered.

The last thing I want to bring up is how you act towards other players OOC. Once again, this is not a thread to name names, merely a guide to things to try to avoid doing. If a new poster comes in, seems to have no clue what they're doing, and write posts like IM's, don't yell at them to go away. Calmly explain you really don't think this is the place for them via PMs or try to give them advice on how to fix their posting.

Discussing issues with one another in Private Messages is a lot better for both of you, because the rest of the boards won't sit there and read your conversation, saving the one you are talking to some humiliation, and you from the potential of looking rude or flat out mean. When you do correct someone, re-read what you wrote, and make sure it doesn't sound overtly angry. You'll only make yourself look bad if you seem impatient.

And please, if someone spends the time to give you advice, or tells you you made a mistake in your post, and what you wrote really couldn't happen, don't just say, "K, thnx, I'll leave it, we'll work with it."

If someone tells you you can't do that, then click the 'Edit' button on the offending post, right next to the 'Reply' button, and fix it. It really annoys people when another roleplayer does this sort of thing. If your edit time has expired, then tell them OOC what happened instead, or tell them to disregard that section of the post all-together.

These, and any other helpful suggestions you guys have would be great. Even if you know you're guilty of them yourself (I know I am of at least a few on my list), post them.
  25. Burning's mouth went open as he heard a toilet flush inside his hood.

He gaped as Sienna fluttered away, and felt where she had been, searching for the mini-bathroom.
