    You can't please everyone ... and some folks in the Forums seem to think that all content and all in-game changes are meant solely for them, and then take it as a personal affront if they don't like what they see. And then are often slow, or even completely reluctant, to give kudos to the things they do like

    Blaster Damage

    Distance = lousy defense -- just ask bubblers how useful they rate force bubble to be for defensive purposes. And then ask a bunch of blasters if they would rather have The Big 3 bubbles (insulation, dispersion, and deflection) on themselves or if they would prefer to stand in the middle of Force Bubble without The Big 3.

    I would add:

    3) don't allow players to reset missions. Even if you quit, when you return to the game, everything is the same as when you left the mission. The defeated mobs are gone, the undefeated mobs still there, and so forth.
    4) give players the ability to ditch missions.
  4. OK. I've got the Goth look on my bubbler, compelte with tatoos on her arms. She has her SG costume.

    But ...

    Can't ... control ... self ... must ... make ... cute ... costume ... pandas ... giggling ... fainting ...
  5. Add a flag to certain missions so that they cannot be reset. The state of the mission (what glowies and mobs are left) is saved whether or not you switch missions or log out. Boom! No more saving those special missions for farming (Nem. staff) or herding (wolves).

    Just a thought.

    I wish the board archived all messages from the devs ... permanently. It'd end an awful lot of posts along the lines of, "I think Geko (Statesman?) explained this a while back. Something about how smashing / energy defense from fire primary stack? No idea why I don't seem to have any defense; I get hit so much more than a stoner. Must be a bug."

    Boss Changes

    Hi Statesman,

    I just sent in a /bug (with mission name + contact + boss's name) about a Family mission that included a named boss with no indication from my contact that there would be anything other than the usual minions and lieuts. On the second mission (same contact) I did, there was a clear indication of a boss.

    I could be wrong (and forgive me if this has been brought up before), but it occurs to me that there's always indication of a boss when defeating the boss is one of the mission objectives. But, when the mission just includes a named boss whose defeat is not an objective, he isn't always included in the description.

    The first time my powers are nerfed to satisfy PvP, I am done with this game. I dealt with this in SWG and I will NOT tolerate it under any circumstances ever again.

    I notice you say "my powers". If it turns out that, say, someone else's powers completely rock your toons, will you be calling out for those powers to be nerfed?

    And sometimes, bugs are not found until a product goes live / ships because one's users are often a much more creative bunch than one's testers. Typical, casual users will often do things in ways seasoned users and testers wouldn't dream of doing.

    The CoH codebase is probably hundreds of thousands of lines long. I know from working in software development that sometimes making an innocuous change in one part of the code can have a tremendous, unanticipated change in others.

    For some things, the developers deserve some slack.

    Although, I'm still miffed that the respec didn't go out with Issue 3. My fire tanker is currently without sleep protection because she hadn't taken Plasma yet.
