Quote:I clearly do, you have a problem understanding me. I have no time for someone that disreguards what I'm talking about so, if you please, read my post, select and disect, If not, do not respond. Kind Sir or Lady!Umm, no, you can put the enhancements back into powers at the end of the respec. Clearly you don't understand the process. Respecing is the process of picking new powers. Given you are only able to access the same powers there is a good chance you should be able to use most of the enhancements you already had. You are allowed 10 slots in your inventory to put those you aren't able to reslot.
-
Quote:So you're saying that each time someone respecs, they lose all their enhancements except for those 10, unless they they want to go through the BS of having to respec multi times(if they can), great! I have no problems with it really, as I have plenty of them. I guess all those new people(with a junk IOd out toon) that the devs want to keep bringing back, that want to respec, are **** out of luckExcuse me? Read out of the handbook? It's a pop up in the tutorial, and just because there are now IO's I don't see how the rules have changed. When you slot something, it should be in there for good.
People complain about there being too much liquid Inf in game and the only substantial sink for this is enhancements. What you are suggesting removes this entirely so that we end up with nothing ever being destroyed.
If people are that desperate to strip their toon of enhancements (to sell, or whatever) then it should be difficult and cost them.
I'm with Umbral below, I think it's a bad idea.
You have to start over because you didn't understand the game! GL newbies
No way to fix it, except to start over!
I really see this as a disreguard of something that's needed, rather than valid reasoning.
I'm not trying to be offensive folks, but in the current game, this restriction is kinda silly given the cost of many sets.
BTW: I could care less what the devs think, that's how we change that game to make it better. (well not or most of the time)
-
Quote:Please link me to that post. This will only be a growing problem as time goes by, I want to make sure I can quote him.The devs have stated (Posi, explicitly) that they feel that, especially with inventions, the 10 enhancements you're allowed to "salvage" per respec are generous. The only substantive influence in this sink is, and always has been, enhancement replacement and loss. The fact that we're allowed to salvage even the smallest number of enhancements from a respec is, honestly, more than the devs could have given us and, where I consider it, more than they actually should have if they ever planned on the economy of this game to matter past level 30.
-
-
Quote:Sorry, but that was way before inventions were put into the game, the devs need to rethink it for recipes, new times, new thinking. When you slot an enhancement for the first time on a new character you'll see a popup saying this can't be removed. Enhancements aren't meant to be taken out, just replaced. Respecs are for changing your power choices, not removing your enhancements.
/unsigned
Edit: please do better than reading out of the handbook from long ago. -
More and more I keep reading/hearing in game that people are having to do 1, 2, or more respecs just to get all the invention recipes out of a current build so they don't lose all those set goodies.
I was just wondering, if maybe, the devs could come up with a system that would allow a super respec (maybe even something deserving in that reguard) that would let those wanting it, to do so. Unlimited slots for enhancements for limited time? Maybe they could let us send our leftovers to WW's or BM for storage?
I'm just throwing this out there. We could have something very hard for those that want to do it, or maybe it could be level 50 req'd and a minimun# of rares?
Any thoughts?
My bad if it's been said before. No search FU tonight. -
Since I've read most of this silly thread I think I deserve to get a post count pad as well.
As far as this game being hard, please. -
-
Hmm, I've still been checking out the builds for this, and I'm making trades back and forth so....... I guess it will be up to my friend what trades she'll want to make.
Again, thanks for the input folks, happy to have it as I've never played the set.
So far this is what I'm posting for her, as she may not like not having a travel power from Kioshi build.
She knows the thread, so it's up to her to decide.
Again, thanks for the input my friends.

My bad on the title, shows just how much I know about the set.
I made the changes you suggested, dumped Havoc for Chain Induction, and picked up the other powers earlier. I tend to just look for the end result in builds.
Now, I tired swapping the slotting in Tough and Grounded and it results in me losing 5% in most of my resists?
Anyway, Thanks for the advice Kioshi -
No feedback, common folks, just a bit of help please. Maybe I should try to work hasten in for Energize? Been looking at some numbers and I'm wondering?
-
Since I have no experience with the set I thought it best to ask for help. A friend has one at 50 she wants to respec, and I'm not sure how the attack chain I have will perform.
Being a resist set I tried to get some defense in, as well as recharge, since I don't have hasten in this build.
Thanks in advance.

As has been said, debuff. debuff, debuff. He's a pushover. I like bringing my cold/sonic to Khaaaaaaan parties.
-
If your CPU and video card fans are spinning great, but your power supply most likely has one as well, If it dies you'll have a problem very nearly the same as with the other two.
-
Quote:I'd also add that the 5830 is the same size as the 5870. Making it a hard to fit card in smaller cases. It also runs hotter and consumes more power than a 5850 as well. It's not that it nails the sweet spot as the HD 5830 and HD 5870 aren't priced linearly relative to the performance of the HD 5850. In the case of the HD 5870 that's OK as the top end part is always sold at a premium.
The problem with the HD 5830 is that measured by performance, it's about 1/3rd of the way between the HD 5770 and the HD 5850 but is priced about 2/3rds of the the way between the HD 5770 and the HD 5850, at least at the time of it's introduction. Now that the price of the HD 5850 is drifting every higher every week, it's closer to half way in between.
It's been said that at some point you'll see 5830 showing up on the 5770 PCB. When it does, and if the price drops, maybe it would be an ok card. Until then, no thanks.
Edit: To make sure people understand. Just because they may, or will, start using the 5770 PCB in the future, doesn't mean it'll will change the fact that it will still take 2-6 pin power connectors, run hotter (compared to the rest of the 5X00 line), and consume the same amount of power as it does on the 5870 PCB. -
I love getting into the middle of a bunch of drones with full fury and hitting Soul Drain and Dark Comsuption. It's like the forth of July

Thanks Umbral. -

Collect 100 and you unlock the indian costume at Icon (think headdress). I'm sure you'd see a lot of archers sporting those. -
Only thing that could get me to buy a prebuilt is getting the OS with it.
Everytime I find a system that looks like a good buy I go to Newegg, price components and see what it comes to.
There may be some good prices for systems out there, but you usually have end up with at least a few parts in the system that are less than optimal. Slower memory, crappy PSU, subpar motherboard, ugly case.......
There's a reason boutique computer builders charge more for their systems. They usually use all high end parts.
For the cost of parts and the OS, I'll bet you could come very close to Alienware or Falcon NW with 2K.
Isn't that worth a few hours of your time. Just a thought. -
Some great info in this thread. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=126983
I used it when I decided to respec. You'll see the build I use on the last page, it's not cheap, but the results have been fun. My tank laughs at ITF, I've also tanked STF with no problem with fort and the occasional luck.
Biospark's is very nice build as well, I just have more recharge and acc in the trades I made in my build. It all depends on what you're looking for. As is mentioned in the thread, energy and negative damage defense are more sought after than fire and cold.
If you're looking for a team build, and aren't as worried about damage, go with the Biospark build. You can use all that left over influence on you next character. -
You'll have to scroll down to class 5 to find that GPU.
