Quote:I like this idea. Maybe Portal Corp have found this dimension, but don't realise something is amiss because they arrive in the sticks, then the Carnival happens upon one of their expeditions, interrogates them, then sends their duplicates back to investigate Primal Earth, thus kicking off the whole debacle? It might also be quite cool if their are Captial Carnivals, similar to Captial Cities, and the further out from them you get the less circus-y everything feels. Primal Earth characters crossing over into Carnival Earth might notice less differences until they start to travel closer to the Capitals.

Also, the Carniebubble Harlequin Troupe is ready to invade, though their true allegiance will depend on whether its CarnieBubble or CarnieMental running the show. -
Reported through the static around Underground Imperial
PPD picked up another seer this morning near the park - same as the others, no injuries but mind totally gone. RD found another one down below, ghouls got to her first though. Recruits are starting to talk, say there's something down there, something more than just the ghouls. RD is going to see what the PPD know before taking anyone down for a look. -
Hands up anyone who would seriously allow Bubble anywhere near the well of furies?
This little cookie is simply going to get even tougher and more awesome than she is already. If she ends up facing incarnates IC and comes out on top, well clearly its because a> she's the most awesome hero in the entire universe, and b> she isn't stupid enough to take on that kind of threat without backup -

Mircala the evil resistance member (currently wanted for attempting to blow up one of anti-matters reactors, attempting to blow up neuron's tower and collapsing part of the tunnel network under Neutropolis) decided to try and infiltrate the syndicate. Luckily, powers division learned of her fiendish plan and Sound Bite, the heroic saviour of the people, was able to intercept her.
After despatching two groups of evil syndicate criminals, the stalwart Sound Bite confronted Mircala on the roof of a skyscraper where she was attempting to flee on a helicopter. Knowing that a mere resistance member was no match for a proud warrior of Praetoria, Mircala called in a swarm of syndicate underlings in an attempt to overwhelm Sound Bite. It was a futile effort, however. Always thinking one step ahead, Sound Bite had called for backup and the indestructible Warforge arrived in time to crush the syndicate and save Sound Bite.
The two confronted Mircala, but the cowardly resistance member fled, leaving some strangely clad person to fight for her. He was easily despatched by the two valiant heroes, who then daringly teleported onto the helicopter as it left to finally capture Mircala. Alas, it was not to be. Too terrified to face her pursuers in person, Mircala left a robotic duplicate of herself behind and rigged the helicopter to explode. Luckily, Warforge was able to smash a hole in the side and escape before it exploded, aided by his impervious armour.
The coward Mircala lives for today, but the people of Praetoria shall not forget the sacrifice of heroes such as Sound Bite, who will always be willing to risk their lives to make the city safe. -
Paragon Hero Goes Rogue?
In breaking news this lunchtime, the Kings Row Meta-Youth Detention Centre, home to some of the cities redeemable superpowered delinquents, has been raided by a small force, led by a hero of Paragon City.
The former hero in question, going by the alias of Air Razor, is said to have produced disruptive weather around the facility, before leading a team of mercenaries inside to rescue one of the inmates. Several guards were wounded in the attack, and one is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
A PPD spokesman said that no effort would be spared to bring Air Razor to justice, however he cautioned that civilians should stay away from him if they encounter him, and allow the PPD to handle the arrest of this super-powered threat.
There has been no official comment on the possible reasons for Air Razor's actions, and the PPD are refusing to identify the prisoner who was rescued, however they have issued their assurance that the facility is secure, and no other inmates escaped during the attack. -

Ransom Demanded for Fashion Designer
A militant group have claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of fashion designer Louise Elegia. Miss Elegia owns her own fashion design and modelling company, and was hospitalised on friday night during a failed attempt to kidnap her. On saturday, however, an ambulance transferring her between hospitals was ambushed and hijacked. Despite the best efforts of the PPD, the kidnappers escaped with Miss Elegia, and executed the ambulance crew before setting fire to the vehicle. The group have since announced that they will only release their hostage once they receive a ransom of $5,000,000 and Miss Elegia and her company agree to a list of demands.
Though approached by our reporters, there has been no official comment on the kidnapping on behalf of Miss Elegia or her company. -
Reported briefly in the Rogue Isles, but not making the headlines:
Council Battling Street Gang
A street gang calling themselves the Fifth Finger found themselves under threat this week as the Council struck out against them in a number of operations. While the motives behind the Council's attacks are unclear, they have left the gang all but destroyed, with all of their former bases now either burnt to the ground or occupied by Council troops.
Though not a major player in the politics of the Rogue Isles, the Fifth Finger were outspoken supporters of the mutant supremacist Indefatigable, who was planning to meet with gang leaders, as well as other mutants, at the Mercy clocktower on Wednesday. Indefatigable has stated that he will not bow to Council intimidation, and he will continue to rally mutants to his cause.
This is not the first time the Council have clashed with supporters of Indefatigable, leading to rumours that there is some hidden history between the two.
----
Short notice this time i'm afraid, but there is another IC meeting of the mutant supremacists at the Mercy Clocktower, 8pm UK time on Wednesday 7th. All welcomeThere is an IC mission planned to follow on from the meeting.

In the newspapers of Paragon City:
Hero Statue Destroyed!
Late thursday evening, one of the statues of the city's heroes was destroyed by a group of mutant activists. The bombing coincided with a riot that swept through the streets near Galaxy City, preventing the PPD and heroes in the area from discovering the bomb in time. Although nobody was hurt in the explosion, the number of visitors to the other statues in the area has declined sharply, as people stay away for fear of further blasts.
According to PPD sources, the bombing was carried out by a group of mutant activists who believe that mutants are persecuted by the government and that heroes are a symbol of the government's tyranny. The activists used a peaceful rally organised by the Helix Society as cover to move their people into place, and then whipped the crowd up into an angry mob, providing cover for their operation. All available PPD forces in the area were forced to respond to the resulting riots, along with some longbow officers and a number of heroes.
There has been some criticism of the PPD for its decision to employ its heavy robots against the rioters, and a spokesman has stated that the PPD would have been unable to contain the riot without the robots, but an internal investigation into the decision would take place.
The Helix Society, who's Party in the Park on wednesday was also marred by the presence of mutant activists, have publically condemned both the riots and the bombing, declaring that their sole aim is to help mutants who are struggling to come to terms with their abilities, or who find themselves with nobody to turn to because they are misunderstood.

A printed flyer distributed across Paragon City:
The Truth
The world is changing. Evolution made mankind the most powerful predator on this world, but evolution is a beast that never sleeps. A new species is evolving, a new world order is rising. Weak men cling to their fragile rule over this world, oppressing those few who are born as greater men!
They call you mutants, we call you the future!
The world is your inheritence, and all that stands in your way is the corrupt government, and the 'heroes' who uphold its oppressive laws. The time for action is upon us! Act now, and you can change the world! Tear down the idols of tyranny, bring low the heroes of Paragon City!
The world is changing, and we shall be the heralds of a new dawn! -
Leaflets have been distributed throughout the slums of the Rogue Isles, with some starting to make their way into Paragon City.

((Meeting is planned for 7pm UK time on sunday. This is a recruiting drive aimed at grabbing young, relatively inexperienced villains. Though the core group is aimed at mutants, they welcome the help of all origins, except naturals. They also despise non-humans. People not interested in joining can still turn up to heckle

In the newspapers of Paragon today:
Supervillain Walks Free!
The outspoken mutant supremacist known only as Indefatigable walked free from prison today, after serving twelve months for his part in pro-mutant riots in Paragon city last year. Born with a mutation that renders him almost invulnerable to harm, Indefatigable is well known to both state and federal authorities, as he is an outspoken 'might makes right' supporter, as well as a believer in mutant supremacy, the idea that ordinary people are somehow inferior to those granted powers through mutation.
Prior to his arrest, Indefatigable travelled widely across the United States, and pro-mutant riots followed in his wake. The incident in Paragon City, however, was the first time anything was definitely proved to be due to his influence.
The release of another villain onto the streets has caused some murmers of discontent, however an official spokesman has responded, saying that Indefatigable has served his sentence, and there are no grounds for further punishment.
It is believed that Indefatigable will depart the city almost at once, and travel to the Rogue Isles. -

Attempted Bombing Leaves Three Dead
Late last night an attempt was made to detonate a Rikti bomb inside the main research facility of Paragon Future Technologies, the company whose head offices were destroyed just a few days ago by a similar device.
A bomb threat was called in, and police arrived to find what they could only describe as a warzone. The group planting the bomb seems to have been interrupted by another, similarly uniformed, group and they were fighting each other for control of the facility.
After the building was set alight, PPD bomb disposal officers and firefighters managed to force their way inside and disarm the bomb itself, however parts of the building suffered extensive damage.
Most of the bombers managed to escape in the chaos, however the police have stated that three of them were killed in the fighting, and a fourth is critically injured and being held under guard in hospital. Thanks to the valiant efforts of firefighters and paramedics none of the emergency services staff on scene suffered more than minor injuries, mainly due to burns and smoke inhalation.
Paragon Future Technologies have declined to comment on the possible motives for the bombing, stating that they will wait for the police investigation to be completed. They have, however, indicated that they will not be hindered by the damage caused as they can transfer their research to their second, more secure, facility in the short term. -

Police Seize Blackmarket Weapons
Investigatons by the PPD have led to the arrest of fifteen individuals and a the capture of a large stash of illegal weaponry. Among the finds were several Rikti rifles and a Rikti sword, identified as part of the cache stolen from the police armoury last week.
A police statesman said that they would do everything in their power to keep these dangerous weapons off the streets.

Bomb Destroys Head Offices
An explosion last night marked the complete destruction of the head offices of Paragon Future Technologies, a small privately-owned think tank corporation that has been involved with research into Rikti technology. A spokesman for the company said that although the blast had destroyed the office building completely, they had sufficient off-site backups of the information stored there to continue operating, though it would take considerable time to bring things back to normal.
Police have stated that the explosion was caused by a Rikti bomb inside the building, thought to be one of those stolen in the armoury raid last week, along with extensive use of accelerants which prevented fire-fighters controlling the blaze before the building was completely destroyed. They have confirmed that nobody was hurt because the building had been evacuated as an anonymous phone call was made to inform the police that the bomb was due to go off.
Bomb disposal officers searching the building have reported that they encountered a small group of masked females who overpowered them and teleported them, unharmed, to an adjacent building.
Police are currently looking for clues as to the identity of these individuals, and have asked all heroes to be on the lookout for any clues as to the whereabouts of the two remaining bombs. -

Rikti Weapons Stolen
Earlier today police confirmed that there had been a break-in at a police armoury over the weekend. The facility was being used to store Rikti weaponry recovered during a raid and awaiting collection by Vanguard forces.
It appears a small group of super-powered villains used psychic powers to get the armoury guards to open the facility, and then made off with a cache of Rikti swords and rifles, as well as three Rikti bombs. A spokesman for the police said that the raid was clearly well planned, and targeted specifically at the Rikti weaponry, as the police department's own weaponry was left untouched.
The alarm was raised by a member of the public who reported suspicious activity around the facility. Police intercepted the getaway vehicle, however the thieves pinned the pursuit officers down in a firefight long enough to teleport themselves and their stolen equipment away.
Vanguard are working closely with the PPD to track down those responsible and recover the stolen equipment before it can be used against the city. -
Tuesday 6th May
The PPD release this artists impression of a suspect who fled the scene of a highh-tech burglary. The girl, thought to be in her mid or late teens, made off with a number of advanced components before teleporting away when cornered on a rooftop. Though several security staff were incapacitated while trying to apprehend her, all were disabled with psychic blasts and have suffered nothing worse than a mild headache after regaining consciousness.
The police have stated that the suspect may be mentally unabalanced, but is not considered dangerous unless provoked. Anyone spotting her should call the PPD at once, and any local heroes attempting to apprehend her should proceed with caution. -

Arachnos in King's Row?
Police are investigating rumours that a number of Arachnos agents are operating in the King's Row area of the city. A number of witnesses have come forward to report on suspicious activities and police are attempting to create a profile of the suspected villains. Local hero Buccaneer Blaze, who operates from a hidden base in King's Row, has indicated that she does not believe Arachnos could have got this far into the city undetected, but warned all citizens to be extra vigilant. Despite this reassurance, people living near the reported sightings are clearly more nervous than usual. -

DATA Agent Reported Missing
The police have asked all heroes to be alert for a DATA operative who went missing after leaving work last night. The man's wife filed a missing persons report when she discovered this morning that he had not returned home. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the agent may have taken a datachip out of the DATA facility, containing information on a number of the cities heroes. The police have confirmed that they are considering the possibility that the agent has defected to Arachnos.

Missing DATA Agent Found Dead
A DATA operative who went missing two days ago has turned up dead. Police discovered the body during a routine search of an abandoned warehouse. Initial reports indicate that the man was stabbed, and then the body burnt to try and dispose of the evidence. One police officer, who has requested to remain nameless, stated that the crime was unusual, as the man was stabbed twice with two different weapons, and the fire left no marks on anything else in the warehouse. Meanwhile, DATA has refused to comment on rumours that the operative had been transporting a datachip containing information on a number of the cities heroes.
