Person with the most votes cast: Lazarus with 7

Total Number of votes for those authors (counting first and second separately): 21
Biggest lead for first place: 3 points -
Yep, read the rules. You couldn't nominate your own arcs, but you sure can vote for them.
Oh, and Valor: Voting's still open until Nov 5th. Still plenty of time. And depending on how many people feel like they don't have enough time, I may extend that one more week. -
Whew, finally played all the arcs in a category (haven't played many of the arcs that got pushed through with multiple nominations and didn't need to be judged).
Best Short Arc (though many of these are funnier than the comedy arcs I've played and/or heard about)
1st: Forget the Rose, bring the Thorn. (had me literally laughing out loud several times, very funny)
2nd: Becky's Revenge. (Very well written and very fun)
Those two and Celebrity Kidnapping are all really pretty equal to each other, but I know I'll be voting for PW in at least one of the other categories. -
Best Use of Mechanics posted. Congrats to the finalists and to the honorable mention: Constantinaple's Jones' Family Secret #91838 @Hero2. Thanks to Airhead for helping me with the judging.
And a big congratulations to all the finalists, honorable mentions, and players for everything. This has been a really great experience so far and I will definitely be doing it again sometime. -
I can't see an explosion shot anymore without thinking of this.
-
Congratulations! Like you mentioned to me before, it's too bad that we're up for the same category, but at least that doubles the chances that someone awesome will win!
-
Yes, congratulations. Glad you got recognized. And I believe she submitted several arcs under different categories. But I definitely think that Teen Phalanx is the best fit for Heroic.
-
It's been a while since I've asked for a review, and I like this thread, so I'll request a review for:
Matchstick Women #3369
lvl 25+ (all custom fire mobs)
You come across a mysterious flame that draws your attention like a moth. It has a story to tell, one of destruction, fire, and pain. Follow the smoke to the source and reveal the secret of the Matchstick Women. -
I don't think that's the review of the specific arc, just general advice. I believe the specific review comes later. But once he announced the arc, it is definitely "too late"
-
Oh, I think I'm vaguely guilty of #2 and #6, and definitely of #3 and #5.
-
1) remove self destruct from the tray. (and shift a couple more powers)
2) play -
Yeah, I posted here asking for some nominations, but it dropped down quickly with no replies. There's still two weeks left for voting so it's time to get quite a few arcs in. Also, several of the nominees in the Player Awards also made it as finalists in the official contest. Shows that we've got good taste over in the Stories and Lore forum.
-
Only 9? That's actually lower than I would have expected.
Wait a second, you're talking about the official architect awards. I've been spending way too much time and thought on my own awards I almost forgot about those.
*checks announcments*
*sees name*
*squee!*
And gratz PW on your own nom too, as well as those other 7 regulars who are also nominated in the player awards. It goes to show that the devs and players do share some good taste. -
That's awesome! If you haven't got it in the pipeline already, feel free to use your favorite Matchstick costume rather than the one I submitted.
-
And Comedy arcs posted as well today. Thanks to Grinning Spade and Airhead for the judging in this category. And congratulations to all the honorable mentions that didn't make the cut, they're all great arcs as well:
Aeon's Nemesis #161865 @Darkonne
LOST DOG #9882 @6x
Females for Hire 110723 @suedenim
Best Mechanics is the last category waiting for me to judge them. I should be able to get through them by Friday, unless there's another tough decision to be made. -
Serious arcs posted. This was so close between two of the arcs (all 5 judges played them, 2 favored one, 2 favored the other, and one was undecided) that I decided to include them both. So congratulations to our six finalists, as well as our honorable mention: The American Revolution Remixed #31700 @Silenex. And thank you to Eva Destruction and Grinning Spade for judging, and also to Wrong Number and Airhead who helped me try to decide the last spot before giving up and including both.
-
You are quickly becoming my favorite Dev! Hope you enjoy it enough to make it a regular thing.
Matchstick Women #3369 -
Quote:Nope, I want to stick to 2 picks. Unless you want to change the order yourself, I'll give PW 1st place, and Cheshire Cat 2nd, leaving it to your subconcience to decide for you (or the default listing order) Though I will use this post when I do my final analysis - checking to see if a different scoring method would affect the final results in any way, for curiosity sake.SO-range arcs....wow tough call. Can I cheat? Since we're voting with points (two to the first choice and one to the second) can I just vote for three arcs to get one point each? If I can, I choose:
Teen Phalanx Forever! #67335 @PW
Astoria in D Minor # 41565 @The Cheshire Cat
Escalation #6143 @FemFury
These are all excellent arcs, and all completely different, so it's pretty much impossible to say which is "best." -
Name: Afrogator
Origin: Mutation
Class: Corruptor
Primary: Assault Rifle
Secondary: Pain Domination
Pool: Super Jump
Appearance (have also added red bat wings):
Battle Cry: It takes a lot of work for a cold-blooded creature to look this hot.
I just can't get a handle on a good bio for him. I want something semi-serious, and not too disco. Inspiration partly came from Nabeshin from Excel Saga (hence the AR). -

Old Dog, New Trick #81318 @Wrong Bird
Pro Patria Mori #1173 @WhatRoughBeast
The Horrible Mr. Caractacus #10721 @Lady Sadako -
What about the "Markies" M-arc-ies?

Victors Online #97980 @Hellguard
The All-Seeing Eye #57352 @Steele Magnolia
The Omega Reports: Scavenger #159672 @Luminara -
Honestly, I don't have any regrets for my characters. They all fit with my concept of the character.
