Another possibility for your collection question. If your only objective on that mission is the collections, you can use the mission complete clue. If you have other objectives, you could also have the first collection clue be a reminder that you need all four and will look at them after the mission is over, and again use the mission complete clue (which also has much more text space).

Lots of references here, as well as an old sketch from you.

Quote:I ran into the problem last time that at least a couple of the finalists are no longer active players. Also, many of the nominees weren't even aware of the contest until very late in the process (which I take responsibility for). But there is still the other category for the single character that you can nominate from any arc(s).Quote:

Absolutely, edited the rules to reflect this. -
That's right kids. You liked it so much that I couldn't wait until next year to have another run through. But I'm not crazy enough to go though such a huge list like last time, so I'm limiting it to much fewer categories. Also, this time around, I want to see lots of pictures. That's because this month's contest is all about the customs and I want to see them in all their glory! Enough jibber jabber, let's get onto the categories!
Best Custom Group
- You may only nominate custom groups used in your own arc(s).
- Please choose a single <group name> plus up to two unique bosses.
- The group can be made up of any combination of full custom, recolored/renamed standard, and standard enemies.
- Post between five and ten screenshots featuring your group.
- Screenshots must be unaltered besides cropping or lighting changes.
- Screenshots must be no wider than 750 pixels.
- Any combination of group shots, action shots, single shots, with or without bios can be used.
- List any and all arcs that the group is featured in as well as which missions within those arcs they can be found in.
- You may also include one paragraph describing your group (250 words or less).
- You may select up to 2 keywords that voters should keep in mind when judging the group. Examples: Challenging, Fun, Comedy, Serious, Balanced, Themed, Varied.
- Submissions will be accepted until December 20th at 11:59pm EST.
- Voting will be held in a new thread from December 21st through December 31st at 11:59pm EST.
Best Character
- You are only allowed to enter one character per forum account.
- You may nominate a character from your own arc, or someone else's arc.
- You may nominate any type of character from an arc. Hostage, Ally, Boss, Contact, Custom costume, Standard character, or any combination of these.
- Post up to 3 screenshots of the character, including any applicable dialog in speech bubble or text box - especially if it is a standard character (use "/screenshotui 1" to include the UI into your screenshots).
- Screenshots must be unaltered besides cropping or lighting changes.
- Screenshots must be no wider than 750 pixels.
- List any and all arcs that this character is featured in, as well as which missions within those arcs they can be found in, as well as in what capacity (ally, hostage, boss, contact, etc).

Good luck! -
Thanks for the new review, it helps a lot with giving me some extra direction on the new mission 2. I still need to think on how best to integrate it into the plot. I think I like the idea of turning it into a case of mistaken identity recruitment mission - where the women think you were at the first base for reasons other than stopping the fire, and I can shift the clues and dialog towards that angle possibly.

Both amazing pics, as have been all of the pieces from these two artists up until this point. My vote has to go to the one that really conveyed the theme of "epic": Toxic Shia. The thing that clinched it for me was the mise en scene because I can't think of a simpler term for it. Foo's is really great, I love the color scheme, but it just feels too claustrophobic and closed in. Shia's feels wide open and hence, more epic. And to make it a little easier for TA:
My vote's for Shia -
Looking forward to seeing how this goes. Hope everyone has fun!
-
Congratulations! I also enjoyed this arc quite a bit. Glad to see more dev choices out there!
-
For both of those that sent PMs, thank you. Hopefully I'll have my internet back on early next week. I'll keep an eye on this and my PM box and see how things go. I'd like to have a minimum of four article writers before I try to move this to the next step. Counting myself, there's 2 writers, and 1 proofreader.
-
I'm a member of the City Scoop, which is currently in transition and I'm not sure how long before it is back up (though we do still have people, and it *will* be back... eventually) so I thought I'd do something within this forum and would like to see if there is any interest in helping out.
What I need:
Editors/proofreaders: I know many people here are good at catching typos, and we can have more than one person as a proofreader, in fact the more that would be willing to proofread, the easier things would be.
Review columns: I don't want this to become filled with just arc reviews, but I would like to have a couple a week, especially focusing on any newly posted arcs possibly.
Tips/tricks columns: Taking something that few people know about and write a tutorial/article on how to do it. Like a good non-combat mission, or the best use of chained events, etc.
Events columns: Something focusing on any events going on out there, like Dr. Aeon's contest, or my Player's Choice contests, or even any server specific contests out there.
Interviews: I imagine Dr. Aeon could possibly be amenable to an interview at some point, depending on the subject. Any other personalities that would make for interesting interviews? Possibly even just a focus on an author and their body of work.
Any other ideas are welcome, as well as suggestions for logistics. Like the format: Should we just make it a weekly forum post? Or host it on another site and link it? Also, where should we co-ordinate? Here on the forums? In the social group section? Or possibly off-site somewhere? -
I'll just list up the experiences that I've rolled with:
TA/Ice - I like this one pretty well, I call it my blastroller - it's got a couple blaster level damage powers with the two rain/pet powers, and it's got extra holds to pair with Ice Arrow (although it's kind of disappointing when you realize that the /Ice hold is around twice as good as the TA/ hold)
TA/Psi - This one is pretty nice too, though my experience is with a superteam full of Trick Arrow teammates. It was my first experience with Psi and I had a lot of fun with it. I did have a bit of trouble everytime I took her out solo though. -
Been without internet due to moving (am on public computer at the moment), but nice to see this stickied. Next contest will run through December, will be smaller, and will focus on custom groups and characters. See you then!
-
Thanks for running Whack-a-Mole, it was actually pretty fun on a team (though much easier), especially this version which has much more decoys spawning with a larger team.
-
Time for a short update: Been playing my dom the most lately, with a few brief stints on the scrapper and tank, I'm really enjoying the MA teammates. Added some screens to the dom and scrapper posts.
-
My local rock/alternative radio station had the Nirvana/Rick Astley mash-up in light rotation for a bit when that came out.
-
Don't really care about the numbers aspect, just was curious. Am definitely interested and will try to be there. Awful about scheduling though.
-
What about Traps/AR defenders?
-
Is that all it takes to get an awesome sig banner? Maybe I should ask for one sometime....
-
I believe Ozzie will be there to host a team at 8pm tonight.
-
Yeah, $target can also do things like: "You'll never get me Oil Slick!"

Quote:QFT! I had someone in my time there, he was literally spamming me with dual requests (or possibly guild charter request) so hard that I couldn't click on him to /ignore him. I couldn't do anything until I had to type /ignoreNot to mention that everyone I know who plays Warcraft hates the whole duel challenge idea. Generally, some jackass will walk into town and challenge everybody (especially those weaker than him) to a duel until they accept, and will otherwise get in their way and impede their progress.
It's a form of trolling that I definitely don't want to see in City of Heroes. -
Nice, was hoping to see another Dev Choice today, but this is almost as good. Be sure to post your entries here or in another thread so us players can check them out too!

Quote:Dangit. I thought I left a feedback tell about the contest when I played the arc. Sorry about that. Hopefully things like this will work out smoother next time. (coming soon)Wow! I didn't even know about this contest until today. I'm really honored that I was nominated at all (for my arc "Seeking Men" for Comedy), and very flattered that I tied for 3rd.
The best part of this contest is that I have a huge list of great arcs to play through! Grats to everyone and thanks Bubbawheat for organizing this! Also thank you to Lazarus, who nominated me and who, if I remember correctly, must have been one of the first people to leave me feedback or even play my arc.
And thank you, Liquid, for telling me that I won a contest that I didn't even know about!
That made my day.
