  1. Congratulations. I'm still a looong ways off on my project, but I was definitely planning on writing up a guide of sorts when I was done.
  2. MA all the way, but MA has 2 sections of the forums, just like PVP does. And when you combine them, we have 44,000 posts. And have not been around as long.
  3. Ok, <The Eight Elements> SG is formed, though I'm not sure when you can catch me next to get an invite. But I'll try to be around.
  4. Yeah, I turned off all the annoying stuff that I get from Facebook, that would just be one more thing, though I have no one on Facebook that plays CoX - I keep that one for my relatives and old classmates mostly. I use twitter for my CoX stuff.
  5. Dang, it sounds like this is on hold/cancelled unless the OP comes back. It sounded like fun, I'll be on Vynlana here for a bit, I think I'll try to get up to level 10 and set up a SG for us if he does come back. That way it can be a little bit more flexible, or at least maybe easier to meet up.
  6. They could have a series based on time periods:

    Stone Age

    Dark Ages

    Renaissance Age

    Modern Age

    Future... Age?

  8. This one is really tough, my wife and I narrowed it down to two that make us laugh, and two that are really well done with the materials used, and it's very difficult to decide which one doesn't make the cut. Aha!

    1) Christopher Robin - this was very well done with the materials used, tough to work with sidewalk chalk moreso than crayon. Nice tie in to Earth day as well.

    2) PyroNympho - this made us both laugh and it's very well done also.

    3) Frost - I loved this one the first time I saw it, it really made me laugh out loud for real which is quite rare for me.

    4) JohnnyKat - very well done, and bumped down only because he has immunity so he won't get voted off even if he gets the fewest votes.
  9. If I am a winner, I permit NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited to use my name, likeness, photograph, hometown, and any comments that I may make about myself or this contest that I provide for advertising and promotional activities. I also certify that I am at least 13 years of age and am eligible to participate in this contest.

Teenage girls wear cute and cuddly animals as backpacks. This year, they are trying to up the ante to cash in on the superheroine market.
  10. Nice, now there's just Tartyr and Caemgen left to post their finished pieces. And Bindweed - just grab some cheap crayons from the dollar store (pound store? discount store?) Let's have an elimination and not a drop-out this month!!
  11. Come on people, 7 more submissions to go, I'd hate to see more people left out due to non-submissions. It's kindergarten, it's supposed to be easy people!

Edit: getting ahead of myself a little, but still - only one more day left. Don't miss it!
  12. Oh and it seems like you can submit to the April #CityofHeroes folder now, and May too.
  13. I can post April's voting thread, can't be much harder than doing this post.
  14. Quick review time on another entry that I've been told is soon for the chopping block as soon as they have a new arc ready for prime time.

    Possession #379393 by @ArwenDarkblade

A Hero Loses His Powers: Hero, Villain, Rogue, what have you. It is a barely known hero named Mr. Mysterio, actually a quite recent hero who you find out has lost the stone that is the source of his power, which you then find out that he stole from the Midnighter club and so you have to take it right back from him again. An interesting concept, but looking at the strictest sense of the rules, he's not much of a "known" hero at this point in the story.

Appropriate for the Level Range?: Absolutely, nothing to report here, was a quick and easy set of three missions with non-difficult yet varied enemies.

The Arc as an Arc: The story was interesting, but the arc felt a little rushed. As in I really rushed through it. The second mission had some chaining, but it was pretty simple. Also Mr. Mysterio is mentioned to be working for someone, but that thread is simply left hanging at the end. There could definitely be more to this arc, but the point is more or less moot as the author let me know that they are unpublishing it as soon as their next arc is ready to be published, since this arc didn't win or place in the contest.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA And another one tonight: Possession #379393 by ArwenDarkblade
Bubbawheat #CoHMA Contact is Azuria, and she's asking me to check on a new hero, Mr. Mysterio who's been going after the Hellions when his signal cut--
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Hey, wasn't I just here? (burning Hellions map, used in M3 of Fred's arc I just played)
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Mr. Mysterio had the source of his power stolen - a jewel. He gave me a key for Azuria to divine a location for me.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: The key goes to the Midnighter Club (have to watch that first step), which does not bode well.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: The Stone of Cassandra? I thought I was looking for the stone of Mr. Mysterio?
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Found the stone, and had to rescue Mysterio once again. Now off to negotiate with the raid leader. Aren't I the one raiding?
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: "negotiated" with PsiBorg who told me that Mysterio stole the jewel for his boss, then decided to be hero for a day instead.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Nice payback joke by Azuria " What kind of organization are they running there, when their vault is so easily compromised?"
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Off to fight Mysterio this time, and possibly his boss, along with some Skulls.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Place is practically empty except for the occasional Skulls patrol.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: That was it? pretty anti-climactic just fighting Mr. Mysterio and then we're done.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Seems unfinished, especially mentioning that "Mistress Vex" is still out there. Would have liked to have seen her in this arc.
  15. And today's a two-fer with

Is That A Club In Your Pocket Or Are You Just Happy to See Me? 374975 by @FredrickSvanberg

A Hero Loses His Power: DJ Zero, the contact, has lost his power as a plot by the Wailers wanting his dimension controlling powers. They had an agent convice DJ Scratch - who was guest DJ'ing at the time - to play a tape that zapped his powers away. In the end you retrieve the tape and play it backwards to restore his powers.

Appropriate for the Level Range?: Yes, it was doable, but Red Caps can be quite difficult, especially since they work around the no-boss difficulty. Snaptooth also shows up twice, but mission completes after his first death, so you don't have to defeat his EB version to exit, and the second time he's optional.

The Arc as an Arc: It was a good bit of fun, with a bunch of nice little easter eggs and funny dialog, especially between DJ Zero and Sister Psyche.

    As usual, tweets below.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA Running Is That A Club In Your Pocket Or Are You Just Happy to See Me? 374975 by FredrickSvanberg, Aeon's 2nd challenge
Bubbawheat #CoHMA Contact is DJ Zero of Pocket D, he's lost his powers and all the big names are stuck in Pocket D unable to help. Is it Snaptooth?
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: While looking for Snaptooth, I see redcaps coming out through Cauldron portals?
    Bubbawheat #CoHMA Bah, stupid redcaps.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Redcap bosses are tough, luckily there's no ceilings and I can fly.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA I don't know if they changed things, but I'm freely attacking the cauldrons without going for the defenders first.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Snaptooth has arrived! Now where is he?
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Not bad - soloed EB Snaptooth. Not too tough out of melee range.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Sister Psyche is contacting us mentally. Parsley! Red Caps invaded Pocket D and no-fight rules don't apply to them.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: They take some random hostages to Croatoa, and we're off to save them.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: A black and white - physical War Witch is up front to come help me.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Ganymede tells me that it looks like DJ Scratch is the one behind this whole mess.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: An interesting and fun mix of characters recognizable as hanging out in Pocket D.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Off to fight DJ Scratch in the burning Hellions map. But instead, he's being attacked by his own Hellions.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Ambush! The place is being overrun by Wailers!
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Bah, I didn't know wailer bosses rezzed. I defeated the Blue Meanie once, but the rest of them got me before I could again.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Don't have exact totals, but only got about 1 bubble of XP for the whole arc.
  16. Back on track with the next arc from AbiterFabulous, here's

Past Echoes Tomorrow #379399 by @Equation

Supers Lose Their Powers: The supers in this case are the Nuclear 90, having some process done to them to remove their powers and set their hearts on overload, creating a small nuclear explosion if not treated - and the only treatment several of them found was from Dr. Vahzilok - which was to remove their heart and place it in a vat of coolant. This arc also serves as a pseudo backstory to Fusionette, showing her penchant for superheroism as well as reckless behaviors.

Appropriate for the Level Range?: Yes, I did have slight problems with the main antagonist which you fight several times, but adjusting my tactics won out with only one death per encounter - or less. Vahzilok are also occasionally tough in their automatically larger than normal groups.

The Arc as an Arc: I really liked a lot of stuff in this arc, it's very well written with the exception of the occasional typo, with several interesting arcs playing out throughout the story. The Fusionette arc - meeting her as a simple hostage named Annette all the way to seeing her take on her infamous Fusionette costume at the end (though thankfully, she doesn't actually accompany you with her wild ways). Numina as your contact is very well written and treats you as a hero, but also as a hero of the appropriate level. And The Red Threat has his own arc as the main antagonist, it all weaves together in a very satisfying way. There are also a few minor quibbles with some of the mechanics, and some might not like Atta's cave, but he does provide a map. Be sure to check this arc out with your lowbies... well once the ally XP fix hits - it's a real killer in mission 4.

As usual, tweets below in order.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA Running Past Echoes of Tomorrow # 379399 by @ Equation aka @ArbiterFabulous. Entry in Aeon's 2nd challenge.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Numina comes to me and asks for help "But I'm only Security Level 5?!" (Psst, I'm actually up to 10 now, but I won't tell her)
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Really liking the tone of Numina's dialog so far, has me interested off the bat.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Off to stop a robbery, aka a prologue to something greater! I can tell it's important, because of all the exclamation points!
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: Something odd going on in the vault, let's go check out what these Outcasts are up to.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M1: So Shock! actually had lost his powers and I didn't even fight him. I think Outcasts shouldn't recruit people with pacemakers.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Now the Hellions are acting strangely, and five heroes sent to investigate haven't returned. Also hinting at Nuclear 90?
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: It's the five floor green fog map, though the briefing did warn of the five floors beforehand. This will prolly be it for tonight
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: And my guess is confirmed by Hot Pink, of the <Nuclear 90>.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: I wonder if Spark! was also one of the Nuclear 90 before joining the Outcasts...
    Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Rescued a young Fusionette.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: He was talked about as a spirit, but he looks pretty corporeal to me. Still 2 heroes lurking about as well.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: This Mysterious Figure is quite tough. let's try this again.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Black Eye? I'm pretty sure I rescued him. Did he not rescue, or is it a typical MA bug?
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: Yep, stupid bug, hits my Matchstick Women arc as well, found Lady Tomorrow on floor 3.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M2: total xp for this mission: 800 @lvl 11 (forgot to check for M1) time for unconsciousness to take me 'till tomorrow.
    Bubbawheat #CoHMA Continuing Past Echoes of Tomorrow # 379399 by @ Equation / @ArbiterFabulous

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: I hear about possible Nuclear 90 victims all over the city, and some have turned to Dr. Vahz, and so must I.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Annette who will become Fusionette is guarded by an embalmed cadaver, if that's not an accident waiting to happen.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Zombies are much easier when I remember to load fire ammo.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M3: Dr. Vahz couldn't save the heroes that went to see him. He did, however, save their hearts. You know, for later.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA @ArbiterFabulous Yes, the letters from each of the heroes I met in M2 are a nice touch.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: They gathered up all the Nuclear 90, but the Hellions managed to kidnap some of them and take them to... Atta's Cave.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: Also, it's mentioned that I've been chosen... "For some reason." Never hurts to cop to the randomness.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA continuing @ArbiterFabulous's Past Echoes of Tomorrow once again, here's hoping to finish the last two missions tonight.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: Atta's cave with 30 Nuclear 90 (all named "Nuclear 90" so far, except for a Fusionette up front) to rescue, all optional.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: I can tell random civilian was used for the Nuclear 90, since I know that group includes Tsoo tattoo artists for some reason.
ArbiterFabulous @Bubbawheat Did you like the clue you get from Fusionette?
Bubbawheat @ArbiterFabulous #CoHMA M4: Nice, I hadn't checked that one out yet. Let's see how well those directions hold up (tedium was starting)
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: The other problem with "random" civilians: I've seen the general with the cigar about 5 times already.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: Oh, and the recent XP change hit this mission HARD. 3 xp for a minion @ level 11.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: 18 bottles of beer on the wall, 18 bottles of beer. Take one down, pass it around...
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: Fusionette's directions worked like a charm, when I actually followed them correctly. Though my first wave was unsuccessful.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: And the mysterious figure is down. Want to finish arc, but also want to see if I can handle Ultra Mode... Will finish tomorrow!
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M4: Turns out he's the Red Threat, the cause of Numina's see-through-ity. Wonder how close all of this is to canon.

Bubbawheat #CoHMA M5: Finally going to finish this one. Numina goes off to finish the Red Threat, but doesn't want me to come, except a day later...
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M5: And her "house" is the Midnighter Club, which is a bit buggy by the way. Sometimes that first step drops you off the map.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M5: And the Red Threat surrounds himself with Spetsnaz commandos.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M5: Disrupted the objects needed for the Red Threat's resurrection, all quite interesting.
Bubbawheat #CoHMA M5: A nice little souvenir for a wrap-up, as well as some author's notes. Though with the current XP, I don't see anyone going 5->10.
  17. I think "size matters - making the most on 100k" is somewhat redundant, and outdated. For one reason - it's no longer 100kb, but 200kb (well, soon), also this was written before there was better compression on the costume files, and so the specifics could very well be wrong as well especially for the costume tips. At the very least, it could be linked in the resources sticky and then unstickied.
  18. Recap:

    Earth: @Bubbawheat - Vynlana - Willpower/Stone Melee Tanker
    Fire: @Premonitions - Flarebeast - Fire/Fire Scrapper
    Lightning @Saice - Mu Outcast - Elec/Elec Blaster
    Void: @Masquerademonster - Recumen - Illusion/Force Field Controller
    Air: @Phoenix Feather - ??? - Force Fields/Psi Defender
    Water: @Om Nom
    Ice:
    Light:

Looks like we're making a pretty balanced team, so anything goes for the last few spots.
  19. Just made Vynlana - Willpower/Stone Melee tanker, will be around for a little bit - levelling up to 4.

    - Made it to 4, and already starting to get a little personality out of her. She's a vengeful minion of the Earth Mother, though much more friendly to those she considers her allies.

The Earth's Blessing on you, until next week! Hopefully we can get things rolling then, looking forward to it.
  20. I agree with Rose. The animation bug was just the icing on the cake, and the cake is not a lie.

Also, if I don't catch you before then, prizes will be e-mailed shortly after i17 goes live.
  21. Quick reformatting of choices people have claimed interest in:

Earth: Bubbawheat, Cat, Garjzla, General Drake, Robertroid (5)
    Air: Garjzla (1)
Fire: Premonitions, General Drake, Substrate (3)
Void: Bubbawheat, Paradigm Shift, Substrate, Robertroid (4)
    Water: Robertroid (1)
    Ice: Cat (1)
Light: General Drake, Bubbawheat, Garjzla, Paradigm Shift (4)
Lightning: Substrate, Cat, Paradigm Shift (3)

Taking the single choices out of the equation

    Air: Garjzla
    Water: Robertroid
    Fire: Premonitions
    Lightning: Substrate

    Ice: Cat

    Leaves the choice of

    Earth: Bubbawheat, General Drake
    Void: Bubbawheat, Paradigm Shift
Light: Bubbawheat, General Drake, Paradigm Shift

Finally, if General Drake's is listed in preference order, each of those first choices ends up with

    Earth: Bubbawheat
    Void: Paradigm Shift
    Light: General Drake

Of course, this is open to change, since it doesn't include any of those that were interested but didn't list a preference, as well as Reflection himself, who I'm assuming would step in to fill any open role, as well as any of the above who have lost interest, or who may run into schedule conflicts depending on the final teaming choice. So look at this as just another point of conversation I guess.

*Added bold to those who have agreed on their final choice.
  22. In order to claim his inheritance after the death of The Siete, The Ocho had to live up to the conditions of the will. Namely to spend the night in the haunted mansion of El Diablo Tres.

    Multi Arc

There's the Galactic Protectorate series that I've seen a couple reviewers take on several parts of. It's currently 6 arcs long with more possibly on the way.
