I was kind of sorry to let the early bird points go. I thought it was a nice little extra incentive to get people to not wait until the last minute. With the end of the points system I wondered if I should keep the early bird as a way to get a couple extra points to get a little bit closer to an immunity buy for some people. But today I thought of a way to re-introduce the early bird points system with our new format.

If you post your final submission early, you will get 1 vote point which is equal to 1 third place vote. Since I am announcing this a little late I am extending the normal Early Bird time to the 19th. So if you post your final submission before midnight Eastern June 19th, you will get 1 free third place vote in this round. Hope to see some submissions soon.

P.S. I do intend to participate with everyone this month. I have one attempt that I'm not quite happy with, but will hopefully have something better to post before the end of the month.
  3. The weird thing is, now when I'm not logged in it still shows the red villain skin, but when I log in it goes back to the hero skin and I have to do the quick change to fix it again.

    Base Teleporters

And add either a new teleporter, or allow the old ones to be able to port to more than 2 zones.
  5. I have a new place where you can post questions for this hopefully ongoing series.

Got my first question filmed so far, hopefully I'll be able to have the first episode finished by this weekend.
  6. You drank

    the kool-aid
    my battleship
    my milkshake
    the fizzy lifting drink
  7. I've written one guide (Bot/Trick Arrow Mastermind), got a little bit of notice for it, although much of it is eclipsed by someone else's better guide (Luminara's Trick Arrow Enchideron), and there hasn't been much need for updating since I wrote it around i12. I did mention the new batch of IO sets, and the change to the MM upgrade powers (I think so at least), but not much else has changed since then.

I've also considered trying to write a comprehensive guide to fire, but I've still got a long ways to go before I know enough to write a guide on it. I've only got 3 level 50s, and would like to have a 50 in every combination first.
  8. A couple weeks ago, I was thinking of starting one of these up again but never got around to it. Glad to see it come back, will have to participate later on.
  9. Anyone else have this problem? I've been using the red villain theme for the forums ever since we switched to the new forums. Aside from preferring the red over the blue, it also makes it easy to know when I get logged out with the forum bug because the boards become blue. Today when I logged in, the boards were still blue. At first I thought that it was the forum bug logging me out as soon as I logged in, but I saw my name in the upper right hand corner. I thought my options might have been reset, but they still say I'm using the "Villain" theme, but now the villains are blue, not red. Color me annoyed.
  10. Thanks for the questions. I should have enough for a short video to post "soon".
  11. Can't quite do all those kind of effects Backfire, but I did make another go at it. Updated version here. I'll keep them both up for now until I can possibly get some feedback from LaserJesus and see which one fits the best, or make any more slight adjustments.

A couple days ago, I tried to claim a medium orange inspiration from an email. It failed with the same error message, but it didn't go back to my email. I shrugged it off.

I just now placed an inspiration in Wentworth's to test a theory. The missing orange inspiration popped right into my inspiration box as if nothing had ever happened. I used it and got my other inspiration back, and now everything looks ok.

So lesson learned: be VERY careful using the email system to send/receive items.

EDIT TO ADD: all this was just confirmed in a support email from one of the GMs. Thanks to them for the quick response!
I had a similar thing happen to me, only I didn't keep getting the inventory full message. I tried claiming a crafted IO when my inventory was full. I got a popup saying I couldn't claim it. Then I deleted a space for it and tried claiming it again, but it wasn't there. I logged into the original character that had sent it and it wasn't there either. A few weeks later I was playing the character and I got a message saying "item claimed" or something similar and there it was in my enhancement inventory. Strange.
  13. Drakule vs. The Werewolf Bikers from Hell is live! I may do one more editing pass on it, and I've considered adding voices to it, but I'm not sure. I'd love to hear opinions one way or the other.

  15. You know what would be great? To have someone create an arc that uses a bunch of trademarked names that aren't in the filter, and also has a bunch of references to the common names that are blocked by the filter. Also, it would be nice (but somewhat time consuming) to see a complete list of common words blocked by the current filter.
  16. my biggest complaint is that the AE rewards window and recipe window somehow use the same window so I can't have them both open at the same time so I can check which salvage I need and buy them with tickets without having to close one window and open the other.

made a slight adjustment to the points - lowered "Saved" from 70 to 65 based on final points stadings, so instead of only 1 person having enough points to use it, the top 4 do, even though one of those 4 have eliminated themselves.

Also, if I haven't mentioned it before, there will be no more points available to earn, and points will be allowed to use until we are down to the final 3 artists.

  19. Results:
    Liz with 41 points
    Lady Judgement with 22 points
    Lousy Day with 17 points
    Airhead with 15 points
    Defiance Jones with 12 points
    Tartyrsause with 3 points
    Darth Delicous with 2 points
    Christopher Robin with 2 points

congrats to all, and good luck this month with your tarot themed pieces!

Airhead gets 2 bonus points this month for having no one guess him as an artist, since Lady Judgement was a surprise entry, he doesn't get bonus points for the guessing portion.

Final points standings! These points are what you have to use to buy bonuses like immunity, extra time, head starts and more. If you have any other ideas for point items, let me know and I'll consider it. The rest of this competition will be decided by eliminations. Currently, only Liz, Techbot Alpha, and Lady Judgement do not have enough points to buy immunity before voting, and only the top 4 have enough points to save themselves after voting. Defiance Jones proves that being consistent is just as important as getting a lot of votes, as he is third in total points. And Darth Delicious shows how helpful the early bird points are, helping her catch up to 5th place in points after missing the first month. And Christopher Robin has a pretty nice lead, by being both consistent as well as placing high in the voting most months. Feel free to use your points as you see fit, whenever you see fit. They will no longer be allowed for use when we get down to the final 3. Anyway, enough discussion, the points standings are:

    Christopher Robin 83 points
    Lousy Day 69 points
    Defiance Jones 68 points
    Battlewraith 67 points
    Darth Delicious 60 points
    Tartyrsause 59 points
    Henri 57 points
    Airhead 57 points
    Liz 35 points
    Techbot Alpha 34 points
    Lady Judgement 9 points

submitted (Bubba could've scrambled the posting order if he was being really clever).
I had considered doing that, since people following the thread would realize that Darth Delicious almost always posts early, and Christopher Robin always posts as close to 11:59 on the last day as possible , but that would mean holding all the pieces until the very end, and I'd rather keep the posting thread visible throughout the month.

Just got home from work, will post full results shortly.
  21. Went to bed early last night. Don't have time to post full results this morning, but here are the artists.

    Artist #1: Darth Delicious
    Artist #2: Liz
    Artist #3: Lousy Day
    Artist #4: Airhead
    Artist #5: Lady Judgement
    Artist #6: Defiance Jones
    Artist #7: Tartyrsause
    Artist #8: Christopher Robin

And yes, Liz got the most votes, congrats! I'll post the full results when I get home from work later this afternoon.

That's probably a combination of luck, the last update, and authors changing their arcs to work around the filter.
  23. Or have corrupted enemies in it being replaced with a 5th column Mekman or a Hydra? How quickly would you expect the problem to be fixed? How much dev feedback would you expect to see on the topic?

This is a very rough estimate of what happened to the Mission Architect with the 4/26 patch which made dozens of common and/or CoH-related words invalid, or technically "profanity or copyright detected". So far we have seen one post saying that they are aware of the problem. One week later we saw another post saying that there is still no ETA other than "soon". Another week later there's a post saying that some of the problems were fixed, which turned out to be false. Another week and a half later and at least 13 words are cleared up, though it seems like not many more than those 13. And now over a month later, we're only in slightly better shape than we were before.
  24. I've considered entering this for a while, and since I see there's no one from Liberty (at least as of the last update to the list), I'll go ahead and enter my Brute Burnt Matchstick. The pic is old, he is 50 now, I brought him with me to the AEnvasion.

  25. Just wanted to pop in and share this. It was from the recent Beta Keyes test with Zwillinger having some fun.
