That really stinks, but don't let the ******** get you down. I really enjoyed this arc when I played it, I think it's worth saving.
  2. Happy Happy Joy Joy!
    Another year, birthday boy!
  3. Thanks LittleDavid!

And finishing off the 2010 Player's Choice winners is trailer #6!

A Hero in Need... is a Friend Indeed! #375018 by @Wrong Number
  4. It changes the closer we get to the final elimination. I may change it back up to 3 if we get any returning entrants in June, but I'm predicting we'll be down to about 5-6, so this month it will be the top 2 remain.
  5. I'm posting this a little bit early since my internet connection is in doubt over the next week or so as I'm in the process of moving. And I thought this month's theme and prize might be enough motivation to make sure people get into June's battle and not get eliminated.

    July's theme is the Movies

It's summer movie season in City of Heroes! Now this theme is a little more specific than just the movies. Your task is to make a movie poster. Not only that, but write up a paragraph describing a short 1-2 minute teaser trailer for this movie. The winner will get their teaser made to the best of her abilities by... Samuraiko / Dark Respite!

    Rules

All types of visual art are acceptable for this month's theme. Screenshot manipulations, sketches, graphic design, etc. So long as they incorporate this month's theme into the work.

    1. Use City of Heroes/Villains Characters- This is, afterall, a CoX Fan Art competition, so I expect you guys to keep that in mind. If there's nothing relating to City of Heroes/Villains in your entry, you will be disqualified.

    2. Keep It PG-13- All entries this month must be postable to these boards without a 2 click.

    3. Deadlines- All entries MUST be submitted to this thread by Tuesday July 26th by Midnight Eastern US time. Voting will begin by Wednesday July 27th, held here on the CoH boards. The pieces that I put up for a vote have been personally verified by me, so if you disagree with their qualifications, please take it up with me rather than the artists.

    4. There will be eliminations this month instead of points, you may use the points you have accumulated through this point as you see fit, either privately or announced in this thread. At least 1 person will be eliminated through voting. If you don't submit this month, and don't use your points to save yourself you will be eliminated. The top 2 artists based on votes are safe from elimination no matter how many people use their points to save themselves from elimination.

    5. Early Bird Points- If you post your final submission early, you will get 1 vote point which is equal to 1 third place vote. If you post your final submission before midnight Eastern June 15th, you will get 1 free third place vote in this round. Hope to see some submissions soon.

    6. Prizes- The artist with the most votes each month will receive 10 million inf sent to them through in game E-mail plus the teaser trailer of their fictional movie created by Samuraiko. The overall winner of the year will receive 100 million. Thanks to Draggynn and Amerikatt for their donations to the prize fund.

    7. Uses for points:
You may announce your use of points in this thread, or privately through PM to me. Privately used points will be revealed in the voting results with the adjusted points totals. You may use points until we are down to the final 3 artists.
5 points: Head Start - find out the next month's theme in advance.
15 points: A Little More Time - Allows an entry to be submitted and/or modified up to 2 days after the deadline. No adjustments will be made for any votes already cast if applicable.
30 points: Overruled! - If your piece is judged as not being within theme, you can overrule the judgement and have your piece placed in the voting thread anyway (This cannot overrule rules #1 or #2)
40 points: Immunity - Grants you immunity from elimination for that month - must be declared before voting begins, and can be declared in private. The top 2 based on votes cannot be eliminated due to a large number of immunity buys.
65 points: Saved - Also grants you immunity from elimination for that month but can be declared after voting is over. You can also declare it before voting begins to avoid elimination due to non-entry.

Honestly, when I was writing this both of you were in my mind as the people who would have the easiest and hardest time respectively.
  7. does anyone have a list of server names they have blocked off? I saw a few of them in the early stages of the global server list merge, and looked around and found a big list of like 80 of them, but can't find it again.
  8. If you opted out of the VIP service for whatever reason, how would you pick your 2 characters? I know for some people, it would be pretty easy, but for many of us alt-o-holics, it would be quite difficult.

For me, I would probably pick my Burnt Matchstick tanker on Pinnacle, which is my most tricked-out character as far as IOs and Incarnate stuff. And I would pick maybe one other lower level character for me to advance on, maybe my Tundra Spider crab on Virtue, but that second character would be a very tough choice indeed, and I would really want to get back to my VIP service, or buy more F2P character slots ASAP (which probably wouldn't be an option if my reason for dropping was monetary.
  9. I think we should get enough people to agree with "Freem" that they would have to accept it. On Ustream, Positron said it was too much of an in-joke to use.
  10. Here's something for Wrong Number to hopefully cheer her up a bit during this time. Finally finished all of the trailers for the 2010 Player's Choice Awards with this one. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, though as always, I appreciate feedback and can always make changes. Next up is a trailer for Zamuel's Dhahabu series. I'm still available for reviews, so sign up anytime!

    June FArt Battle

Also a reminder - last day for the Early bird point!

Next month's theme will be posted mid-this week. I'm also moving so other things might get delayed a bit while I get things situated in my new apartment, unless someone (not in the contest) wants to volunteer to post the voting thread/next months thread in the case that I don't get my internet switched over in a timely manner?
  12. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
  13. Luckily mine was all done in layers so very easy to re-create.

  14. As someone who heard about this situation a while earlier, I'm glad to hear all the positive news and hope the situation continues to improve.
  15. Hope your hand feels better soon. Fun night! Don't have the pic myself, but here's the arcs we ran:

A Clone of Your Own? #453091 by @Bubbawheat

A villainous arc with lots of dopplegangers, Freaks, and a mad scientist obsessed with cloning... and sea creatures.

The Curse of the Emerald Parakeet #1567 by @Lazarus (Cobalt Stinger on the team)

Another villainous arc where you steal the artifact that every enemy group around wants.

And finally the first three missions of

The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805 by @Elizabeth Bathory

An time-travelling origin story of the Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Some great looking customs throughout this arc.
  16. quick correction: RWZ 2 AE building, so you can bring your villains too if you feel the need. (And if you really wanted, they could be yellow )
  17. I had the right idea, but the wrong person. I somehow missed a lot of the descriptive text when I made my guess.
  18. Finally!

Seriously, thank you for this. My suggestions are the winners of my 2010 Player's Choice awards, the best arcs nominated by and voted on by the players themselves. Links go to YouTube trailers that I've made for them.

Against the Wickerwork Khan #346904 by @Clave Dark 5

Drakule vs. the Werewolf Bikers from Hell #340316 by @LaserJesus

Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society #344596 by @Wrong Number

    Talos Vice #338380 by @PW

A Hero in Need... is a Friend Indeed! #375018 by @Wrong Number
  19. Create a "guide to Memphis Bill guides" post in the guides section with just a listing of all your guides and link to that.

edit: which I see now is exactly what you ended up doing.
  20. I thought that was all speculative by the players, and the devs never actually mentioned anything specifically referring to cross-server anything but might have worded something in a way that cross server had a possibility of maybe being attached to something they were working on sometime in the future.
  21. My only guess is the guy in the relationship is gone away to war or something similar, and she's waiting for him to come back.

Also, I'm not sure what it is about it but to me, the sword blade looks more like a cylinder than a flat blade.
  22. My current goal is getting all of my Burnt Matchsticks to 50. I've gotten 3 out of a possible 13, I think I've still got a long ways to go. Congrats on meeting your own goal!

Yes, but the OP was inferring that they were using /getglobalname to see if the person was online at the time. You get their global name no matter what, but you get the same message if they're offline, or if they're online but hidden.
