I've considered doing it myself, but thought better of it. I was on the way back from the hospital, the temps were at 10/9 w/ over 5 mins on the clock. I knew it was pointless to go into the labs, but I decided to wait by the doors instead of in the cutscene area. I also thought it was pretty funny the first time I saw it. Now it feels kinda tired already.

In my opinion, it's just as bad as Friday musically, but it's not so bad it's funny-bad lyrically like Friday was.

I call it stockpiling and not grinding since I believe that most people who had large stockpiles of shards prior to I20 were not grinding them, they were simply running level 50 TFs a lot.
Grinding is a somewhat loaded word and I don't think I've ever seen an agreed upon definition for it. One person's "grinding" is another person's "running content I love". With that in mind I've come to define grinding as "Repeatedly running content that you don't really like solely for the rewards". Now most people who engage in something they consider "grinding" tend to stop as soon as they have accomplished their immediate goal (which in the case of the pre-I20 shards would presumably have been a T4 Alpha boost).
Someone who hated running level 50 content (and level 50 TFs in particular) would be unlikely to continue running them after getting their Alpha boost up to the desired level. Therefore I figure most people who had large shard stockpiles had accumulated them incidentally in the process of running level 50 content either because they enjoy running level 50 content or because they were grinding it for non-shard reasons (i.e. merits or purples).
I could be wrong, but I think the number of people who were grinding content specifically for the purpose of stockpiling shards was probably very low. -
Dr. Destiny on deviantArt asked for some character references to do some free pieces for. And he picked my character as the 4th one out of 5, and it turned out great.

And this one came together very quickly, which makes sense for such a short arc, and one I'm already quite familiar with as I've already done a text review for it back when it was newly published.

I remember this thread which is very similar.
Others which I have thought of but never fleshed out.
A Back Alley Brawler hero patron-type arc (In fact if you check out my AE Q&A you can see that I still have it saved and unfinished on my computer.
An arc where your contact is a 5 year old, and the objectives play out as if told by a 5 year old (And then a giant robot comes out! And you have to save a werewolf, but he's nice. And then they find the treasure chest, etc.)
An arc where the objective gets longer as you go along, until I get to the max objective text length. ("Get the treasure." You find a box, but it's locked "Find the key, get the treasure" You find a boss who won't give you the key unless you defeat someone first "Defeat the boss, find the key, get the treasure") -
Hey hey now, don't forget there's a two click rule for that kind of stuff!

I haven't given up yet. But I did move, and was without internet for about a week. And then when I got it back I was just in the mood to play and not make videos just yet. But now I'm ready to get back in the swing of things. I did some shooting today, though a lot of that may not come to light for a little while at least. I've got to postpone Zamuel's trailer due to the filter bug, and I'm working something out with the Blood Countess arc. I may do a short review for the short Storming Citadel next while I work out what exactly I want to do next. Hope to have something to show soon!

I saw it at the store, but couldn't justify paying $9 just to read the one article I was interested in. And I'm not one of those people who will pop open the plastic bag - and there hadn't been one of those people there before me.

It might be a bit of a wait (or just a possible second or third costume) but I've heard there's some previews of CoT-type costume pieces featured in the PC Gamer article about City of Heroes.
