Those are two very different beasts you're trying to lump together.
  2. My suggestions:

Consolidate Multi-media with Screenshots and Fan Art section and just call it "Multi-Media and Fan Creations" which encapsulates Screenshots and Fan art as multiple forms of media.

Forum Games needs to stay where it is, there's few threads, but tons of posts, and we need to keep them over there by themselves.

Consolidate European and Oceanic into the European and Oceanic Lounge.

Remove the Player Events category. In my experience, things posted there get very few views, the calendar can be used more or the appropriate server threads or city life.

Remove the Supergroup and Villaingroup category and suggest that people post in the respective server forums where appropriate.

Remove the News etc. discussion forum, place those threads in the Developer's Corner forum.

Remove the Archetypes and Powers general discussion forum and consolidate those threads to either the respective AT forums, or the Player Questions forum.

Consolidate the PvP forums and place in the "For Fun!" heading.

If all my suggestions were taken, the new forums would look like this:

    Development
    Announcements
    Calendar
    Dev Digest
    Community Digest
    Developers Corner (also news/announcements discussion)
    New Issue Bug forum
Bug forum (also Mac bug forum)
    Test server
    Character Copy tool

    Player Help
Player Questions (also gen AT discussion)
    Badges
    Bases
    Mission Architect
    Market/IOs
    Incarnate System (new forum)
    Player Guides

    Archetypes
    (in this order)
    Melee: Brute
    Melee: Scrapper
    Melee: Stalker
    Melee: Tanker
    Ranged: Blaster
    Ranged/Control: Dominator
    Ranged/Support: Defender
    Ranged/Support: Corruptor
    Control/Support (Premium AT): Controller
    Pet/Support (Premium AT): Mastermind
    Epic AT (VIP): Kheldian
Epic AT (VIP): Soldiers of Arachnos

    For Fun
    City Life
    European & Oceanic Lounge
    S&I
    PvP
    Comic Culture
    Roleplaying
    Multi-Media & Fan Creations
    Forum Games

    Servers
    as is
  3. Yes, for a good while when the system came out, he was writing arcs on a weekly or near weekly basis, using other people's accounts to post them before you could buy new slots.
  4. I think it's great that the Keyes trial exists. But the extreme difficulty in getting a team together for it, combined with the fact that many people have avoided it so they don't know how to run it, and the many ways in which the trial can fail or become disasterous. Just makes it a nil issue at the end of the day.

I would even like to run it, but I've never seen it being formed outside of the first couple weeks of it going live. I only ran it once during the early beta preview of it.
  5. Updated guesses in first post. Seems like a popular choice is BaBs killed by Marauder.
  6. The thing I'm curious about is how one thing that was said by the devs at some point in a UStream or on the forums somewhere is taken more to heart and seems to be more well known than the official page that lists all the information describing the differences between the player options?

    Here you go
  8. Actually now that I think about it, there was a discussion about which zone was next in line for a revamp. My thought is that they should destroy Skyway City and revamp Steel Canyon or vice versa. The two TF contacts are Positron and Synapse. Posi got a TF revamp recently, but Synapse could use one. He would make a good candidate to get rid of.
  9. I've been taking guesses and so far BaBs is well in the lead, followed by Statesman and Manticore.

Dr. Graves does it, Alistor does it, and I fear more will do it in newer content as it comes along.

"Power" is too general a concept to offer. I get that the idea is for it to be generic so it fits every concept, and this I appreciate, but the MEANS of obtaining this power still need to be set in stone. Sure, I want out-of-context power as much as the next guy, but I need to know what has to be done and I need to be sure I'll actually get it. I don't want my contacts sitting on my back, dangling a carrot on the end of a fishing line in front of my face, having me do their bidding blind to any knowledge or understanding.

Put it this way - if a stranger sends me a tell out of nowhere asking me to team with him for "mad XP" or some such, my initial reaction is to be suspicious. I want to know what he intends to do, what level he intends to have me fight at and how he plans to go about acquiring this "mad XP." I would assume that a career criminal and card-carrying villain would be even more suspicious than I am as a real person who's lived a fairly easy life.

Haven't run Graves yet, but especially in this one, there isn't even the promise that you can share or have the power. Alastor just wants the power and as far as I can tell, you're just there while he's talking about it pretty much.
  12. It was a topic that literally came up in the S&I forum every month or two. In fact, I think I also posted the idea when I first started because I wanted the angel wings for a character. I'm glad they finally implemented it, and I think it's a good system. The only change I would like to see is the ability to skip some options completely. Like if tier 5 has 6 different options, you only had to pick 4 of them before being able to choose from tier 6.
  13. As a sidenote, I think it's ridiculous that they don't want you to ever be able to invite yourself to a supergroup. You already can do that, it just takes one extra step. Or two if you then also remove the helpful person that helped invite yourself.
  14. Some feedback - I don't understand the initial motivation to work with Alastor. I could have overlooked it, but Alastor is absolutely wanting to get the obelisk for himself. I'm just a means to an end, and he doesn't give me a single good reason to want to work with him.

Maybe no-one is looking because they're not interested in player-written storyarcs.
I have personally heard from many people (over a dozen) that they checked out AE once or twice, everything they searched for came up farms, and gave up.
  16. I had been meaning to post this for a while, but a recent thread reminded me of it. I know you can't have custom music for your arcs, but if you could, what would your arc's soundtracks be?
  17. Didn't get Time Shifter, I was hoping to restart this thread.
  18. I remember that, but I don't remember if Aeon was one of those arguing that BaBs *was* a member of the FP or wasn't a member or stayed out of it altogether. All I remember was that it was Positron that was adamant that BaBs was not a member of the FP.

I believe there's two camps even within the devs - those that believe that BaBs is not a member of the FP and have done some updating to try and show this in-game (Positron), and those that believe that BaBs is more or less an unofficial member of the FP and lump him in with the others just because (possibly Aeon?)
  20. And I'd also like to make a couple reminders based on posts here just in case.

    1. You can only enter through in-game e-mail with the included inf entry fees.

    2. You can enter as many times as you want as long as you pay the correct entry fee. For example if you make your first three guesses right now, the total fee would be 35 million inf. 5 for the first guess, and 15 each for the next two.

    3. The list on the first post are the only official entries to the contest along with the date of when I last updated the list. If you don't see your guess, contact me. Also, you can make any brand new guess, or you can copy someone else's guess.

    MARTy and AE

Unlikely, I don't believe it's been triggered on Live yet. It's meant for true exploits, not current farming, which is considered "aggressive gameplay". They did make a minor adjustment for farming where resurrected enemies don't give xp when they're defeated the 2nd time.
  22. Played the heroic version of the arc and made a slight change to the entry fees. There is some very minor clues. Entry fees will likely go up every time a new arc is introduced.

Your first entry from here on in is 5 million inf. Each additional entry is 15 million inf.

If you have already made a guess at the reduced entry fees, you do not get to make a new first guess.
  23. Guesses are on hold (very) temporarily so I can check the new arc for any information. Depending on what is revealed, the entry fee may be increased from here forward.
  24. All this will do is have farms remove any revive powers from their customs and replace with a different random power that will make sure the mobs give 100% XP and they will have to run the mission twice as often.

Oh, and it will also clog the system with a ton of farms with the revive powers that don't get deleted while old and new farmers create a whole bunch of new farms instead of just fixing the old ones.

PvP, on the other hand, is more a case of resource and time allocation issues. As I said earlier about the base system, the best way to handle PvP would be to have a semi-permanent team devoted to its development. This would prevent situations like the I13 changes, where what was implemented did not reflect the full extent of what was intended, and time/resource allocation became largely impossible due to much larger projects entering development.
I'd rather see an updated search/rating function way before custom maps. I don't mind that there are farms out there, but it's annoying that there's 2 dozen farms for every story and no way to filter them out. And for farmers, they have no way of filtering out the story arcs and end up giving them 1 star for whatever their reasons without even playing it.
