Or not. But it's still funny. -
A LOTRO fellowship maxes at six people, not four.

Quote:Um, no.If investors looked at the books of NCSoft, they'd see that City of Heroes was making a steady profit.
Quote:Investors don't generally want the companies they put money into to cut out pieces of the pie that are bringing in money.
Quote:This might have been a business decision, but that doesn't make the decision a good one, or even a financial one.
Quote:It would be nice if people kept their conspiracy theories centered around the facts we know, rather than pulling something out of their posteriors, but we all know that's not going to happen.
Here are the facts, as far as I'm aware:
Revenue:
CoH was making about $10M/year in gross revenue.
Costs:
Paragon employed roughly 80 people.
Servers were run in Austin, not part of Paragon.
Support was run by NCSoft, not part of Paragon.
Web development in Seattle, not part of Paragon.
There are no facts available about the profitability of CoH. -

Quote:Thanks Feycat.16 - it's in the your dad was a hero and left you a bequest and you have to find the key quest-series.
Here's the wiki entry (spoilers, if you plan NOT to play a charr through... but serious, this is effing HILARIOUS when you watch it play out) -

Ironic. I expected you to mean what you were saying, which was an obvious faux pas on my part, given your history.

Quote:If you're able to say, authoritatively, who has and has not sent in a mask and cape, then you have access to personal information that you shouldn't.Aaand, maybe not so many cool points, after all.
I am not a member of the Titan Network and the idea that they collect a ton of personal information is straight out of Brillig's mind, who has no idea what he's talking about.
That's so blindingly obvious you should be able to see it through the ignore box. -

Quote:That's cool, you clearly weren't paying attention anyway. I'll just watch you continue to do damage to the cause you think you're helping.Hey, knucklehead, I'm not a member of the Titan Network, and even if I was, I'd have no clue who all sent in their masks and capes unless they posted publicly about it on the Titan Network boards.
But, yes. You're welcome to quote me, and sue me while you're at it. Have a splash, you're on my ignore list. -

Hmm, did I miss this? What's the (rough) level of the quest?
-
Quote:In my experience, that's not the way I've seen it work in small companies. There is actually zero reason for the former Paragon employees to be left in the dark considering that their future employment situation would be directly impacted by the negotiations. There's huge reason for them not to tell anyone else, of course, because that could mess up negotations - but for Paragoners to be left in the dark makes no sense.I think you're wanting to misunderstand this, and you're overcomplicating the way news spreads. For one thing, you don't even know whether former Paragon employees are allowed by contract to talk to each other about these matters. For another thing, some former employees who know ML can be trusted have thrown that hint our way, because it's all they can give us without doing something really stupid. Some of us are taking it with smiles. Some of us are throwing it back in ML's face.
Quote:For your case, what you SHOULD be doing is tracking down any redname who has given ML a good word on this forum or the Titan Network, and dressing them down for not giving you news directly right now. That might sound silly, but it's a helluva lot more sporting than trashing the messenger in a public forum that she can and does read.
Quote:Lastly, NCSoft doesn't care that you're impatient for news. -
-
BTW, if that's actually true, it's pretty damn dysfunctional. If I want to know what's going on in my company's negotiations, I just call my CEO (or pop my head into his office). Unless ML is a party to the negotiations (in which case she's screwing up by the numbers), doesn't it strike you as odd that people who've been working together for years are suddenly not speaking to each other?
-
No problem. I'll do that. Right after you admit that you thought Google owned Facebook.
-
Quote:That's hilarious. You said Google runs Facebook. Go ahead and try to weasel out of it, it's entertaining.who said google runs face book? I put that in there as an example that is another service I avoid. Never said google ran it.
And name three google servies that are unavoidable then?
Or you could, you know, man up and admit you made a mistake. -
Hit Streak,
While you're asking questions, could you ask if anything will be done with Paragon Point balances? Aside from the post-8/24 refund clause of course.
This:
Quote:kind of implies that 'outstanding purchased paragon points' would be refunded, but it's obviously unclear if that's really intended. Will I receive a refund for game time I acquired through the Refer a Friend program or free time acquired via a retail copy of City of Heroes, City of Villains or City of Heroes: Going Rogue?
Unfortunately, we will only be issuing refunds to players who have outstanding purchased subscription balances or paragon points. -
Quote:So you're willing to follow people with the "Authority" label even when what they say contradicts established facts. So the rednames trust her, but you don't.
Okay. Got it.
I'm sticking with the rednames on this one.
Oh well, so is most of the rest of the world. -
Celebrity is useful if you're trying to get a message out to mass media. Unfortunately, best-selling fantasy author doesn't have as much reach as it might.
Isn't it sad that we would have been better off if Snooki were the huge CoH fan?
But no, celebrity doesn't correlate with credibility. On the other hand, it does correlate with capital. Which Paragon might find itself in need of if it turns out that they are able to work out some sort of deal with NCSoft. -
Quote:You played CoH, right? Just checking.not entirely. Dont have to use their search engine, youtube, facebook, G+, their chat sites, email system, and anything else that google directly controls.
That is why I check the policies on everything and if it's look solid, I'll go. If it looks fishy, then I walk. Google looks fishy to me so I avoid them as much as possible. Google owns alot of things but they dont own the internet.
And no, Google doesn't own the Internet. But if you think you can spend any significant amount of time on the net without touching Google services, you're delusional.
But hell, I already know you're delusional, you think Google runs Facebook.
None of which absolves you from being too damned lazy to punch two words into *any* search engine. -
