  1. My punchy guy (a SJ/WP Brute) is another one of the Elysion, so, like most of my other bird-things, he didn't get a fancy "hero name". He just goes by his personal name.

    He's Anigan.
  2. Z... Have I remembered to tell you lately that you're an evil, evil guy?

    Because you are.

It's not the points I'm talking about, Forbin. I know those should award on my billing date this month. It's the Rewards token timing I find odd. (I really want those stupid Celestial wings for my Electric dom. XD)
  4. Huh...

So, if I have a billing date on the 14th my next token award is going to be in the middle of November? (Since the one extra I started with when things went live last month was supposedly the one that would normally have been awarded in the middle of October? o_0) That's.... bizarre.

    "LRN2PLAY n00bz!"

    I kid, I kid...

Sometimes Liberty's groups do scatter more than they should when trying the choke point method, but often they don't... Which seems to be part of the problem, honestly. Many failures seem to stem simply from having a few prisoners slip through the cloud of auras, AoEs, power FX and other visual clutter without anyone noticing them. It's a just a big, blinding mess when you get that many players and pets in a tight area and if you're not all really on the ball, it's very easy to miss someone. And unlike the doors/paths hybrid method (Which has become our usual tactic lately, too-), there may not be anyone out there to catch those strays.

Anyway, not to derail the thread any more than we already have, I still think communication is the key here. We just need to talk to (and listen to-) each other when it comes to things like how we want trials and taskforces to go. As has already been mentioned, we come from a lot of different servers, each with their own conventions and SOPs, and none of us are quite sure where Exalted is going to settle yet. Eventually, the player community here will evolve its own set of standards, but until then we're all strangers in a strange land.

And I have yet to see a "choke point" run get it...

I mean that seriously. I'm not being hyperbolic. 18 of my 50s are full Incarnates at this point, I've been part of more BAFs than I care to think about, and NOT ONCE in all of those runs have I seen choke points work perfectly. Often when the leagues have tried them they've resulted in multiple escapes. Doors have just been the better option, unless it's a very small, very lightly incarnated league that didn't have a choice in the matter.

As for the Lambda street mobs, they represent a fair bit of extra iXP (Yes. There are people still unlocking slots who care about that-) and they don't take all THAT long to kill... And as someone who almost exclusively plays fliers, I personally think it's nice not to have to dodge the damned turrets and their "no-fly" during the AV fight. <_<

The practice of leaving those turrets in place is the primary reason I don't join OMGSpeedLAMs!11! I'd rather "waste" the two minutes it takes to clear the stupid things than get constantly knocked out of the air every time the fight moves.

The point is, there are reasons for doing things in ways outside of what's become typical for a Freedom speed run. They might not be reasons you like or care about, but that doesn't mean they don't exist or aren't reasonable. As with most situations, a little communication and understanding that Your Way is not the Only Way can go a long way.

If your doing speed runs (and that applies to TFs/SFs as well as iTrials-), just say so. If you're running it more traditionally, say that too. Give potential league and team members that information early on, and it'll resolve a lot of potential conflicts and misunderstandings.

  9. Indeed. o_0

That's just not a Good Thing any way you look at it, and I'm a little surprised that one of the Liberty crew would pull something like that. We're supposed to be the polite people.

You seem to be working under a misconception here, Dark... Those of us who have annual subscriptions only get one token a month, just like people who pay their subs a month at a time.

Yes, the devs and community staff did originally tell us (several times and in no uncertain terms-) that we'd get all of our tokens up-front once the new system went live... But that's not how it worked out. Right before the release they changed their story completely. We're now getting the things doled out one per month, no matter how far ahead we've paid.

The only way to get a pile of tokens at once is to buy a bucket-load of "points" for the market. You can't do it by paying for an annual or other multi-month subscription.
  11. Huh... Maybe I've just been lucky, but I haven't run across much of that at all, Frost, and I'm pretty active on the server. Now, I have seen a couple of arguments crop up on the Help channel and in Atlas broadcast (Ah, the "Knockback Issue". Causing trouble for years and still going strong. o_0), but nothing that seemed unusually vicious or that far out of line.

For what it's worth, though, if you do see anyone getting overly nasty towards the players asking real questions in Help, it needs to be reported. That kind of nonsense just Is Not Cool and shouldn't be tolerated by any of us, on ANY server. I'm not one of those "No random chatting on Help! Ever!" content-police types by any means, but the channel's real function shouldn't be over-looked.

    Same here.

Liberty is my home server, but I play on several others as well... Union, Virtue and Exalted... and I haven't noticed the last being any "worse" than any of the others as far as the jerk-to-fun ratio goes. I'm sure there are elitist pricks out there, but so far? I can't say I've teamed with any of them, or seen them take over the chat channels any more frequently than they do elsewhere.

I tried for that one and missed it... 'Had this vague idea about a silvery lady-bot.

    Role Players

I haven't run across many RPers at all on Exalted, to be honest... 'Only a couple of people who mentioned it in the course of a costume contest and asked if my entry's SG was a roleplaying group. (It's not. It's a personal group with all of two members. Both mine. ) I'm an occasional roleplayer at best, though, so I haven't made an extensive search.

Given the general "feel" of the community so far? I seriously doubt it's going to be an RP-heavy server when all's said and done. Watching the conversations that come up, I'm reminded more of Freedom's community culture than Virtue's or Union's.
  15. You're making me sad that we don't have the right costume parts to do Bakesman (The over-dramamtic culinary crusader and pastry god of Iron Chef Earth...) any kind of justice.

It would annoy me on principle if they did that... But you know, damned if I wouldn't buy the thing anyway. I want the mage pieces for Nemissary that much.

I honestly don't care if they clip with x-number of bulky boots, or if they look goofy with Martial Arts animations. I really don't... Boots can be changed and I'm playing a Dark defender for cryin' out loud... It's not like he (or most other characters-) will be busting out the acrobatic kung fu any time soon. o_0
  20. Bringing this thread back from the grave, because I really liked this one:

Whisper and Savage say, "Anyone ELSE want to try ambushing us? No? 'Didn't think so."

So far it hasn't happened with any of my vigs or rogues, but I did notice it last night with one of my Hero-side stalkers. She was left in Atlas, and showed up on the character selection list as being in Mercy. (And for what it's worth, this charcter has never even been to Mercy. She was created very recently, and has been a hero from the tutorial on. )

I'm curious if this is a "one-sided" issue with originally red-side ATs that are hero-side, or if I can eventually expect my villainous tank to claim he's in Atlas...
  22. Like I said in the other thread, I do like the pieces we got... and I'm sure I'll get good use out of some of them... but they're just not the bits I was really looking forward to playing around with.

Not giving us any of the mage parts takes this set from an "Oh yeah! That's excellent!"-thing to an "Eh. It's okay, I guess."

That's what minions are for. XD

    That aside...

While I do like the pieces we have in this set and I'll probably get plenty of good use out of a few of them, I am disappointed that the parts I wanted most (Yep. The longer skirt and at least one of the tall hats-) aren't there. I was looking forward to building my own "semi-reformed" Death Mage character a costume that really reflected his origin and occupation... but that's going to be pretty-much impossible without the mage parts.

I can't do my poor Nemissary proper justice with these bits, as nice as they are.
  24. FCM and I duoed this arc with his Bots/Time MM and my bi-form "blaster build" Peacebringer (native levels 31 and 40 at the time, with both running on mostly-SO builds). Just taking it at regular play speed, not going out of our way to either speed things or clear the maps, it took us slightly over half an hour to complete.

The first and last missions gave us no real trouble, in spite of the Voids and the unfriendly-to-pet-pathing maps. The ambushes in the second, though? Those were a freakin' pain in the rear. The pummies didn't manage to kill either of us, but I wouldn't call what we had to deal with Super Simple Easy Mode. If I'd been trying to solo that mission with my PB, she would have been squid-pulp after the second group. o_0
  25. Steele's idea of mentioning who she's playing is a good one... I know I've run across a few of you guys over there, but recognizing each other isn't always easy. XD

My Exalted alts are the Unquiet Bride and the Nemissary (Zombie MM and Dark Defender, orignally from Union), Starlight (Human-only PB), and Raksha (Archery/TA Cor)... along with a trio of my usual Rularuu "bird-things"; Merlin (Dark Blaster), Whisper (Claws Stalker) and Shakti (Emp/DP Defender). They're all currently in their 20's.

And as I mentioned upthread, Brightfires (lvl 50 Rad Defender) herself is also over there, but she's an inactive character. I don't play her.
