That aside, +1 for the Crows idea. I know I'll build new bird-things between now and next Halloween, and I'd hate to have to wait a year to get them that CCE.

I didn't mind the PvP, honestly. My sorcerer gave as good as he got when it came to that sort of thing. What I hated was the game allowing higher level griefers to rift into lower level zones with what amounted to an automated slap on the wrist.

I didn't resent the similarly-leveled Ranger who made a game out of trying to stalk Kae while I was out collecting crafting materials, or even the guys who would wait until I was in the middle of a fight with some critter to try a hit-and-run. I expected to have to deal with that kind of thing, and it was fun.

Having a group of six who were obviously more than a few levels higher than me rift in and gank Kae while I was talking to a PvE mission contact... and then stay there camping that contact to flatten anyone else who came near them? THAT ticked me off. And that kind of crap happened all the time.

I've already run the HoH mission on all 30-some of my bird-things just to get that CCE for them (So... Many... Zombies... ), but even so I'd give this idea a big +1.

I'll want it for Papageno, too, see. <_<

Which probably won't be until some time after the Halloween trial goes away. >_<

There have been times I've wanted to use the Roman armor or the Rularuu swords on a character right out of the gate, long before they hit the level they can unlock either of those things. It would be nice to be able to have them on everyone somehow... even if it was something you could only buy for all of your characters after you unlocked it the "old fashioned way" in-game on one.

The game was just beautiful, Aura, and there were bits of it that really were great fun in spite of the short-comings. (I wish my winged fliers in City were animated half as well as Kae was in the air, on those rare occasions when he did get to fly-) Those, and the fleeting hope that the Korean dev team might actually listen to some of the Western players' suggestions, kept me there.

That, and a certain affection for Kae himself... Sorcerers had some interesting powers and effects, and I took some satisfaction out of having the firepower to blast the crap out of rifters who saw him as an "easy kill".

Agreed... (Although it was those evil, evil Asmodians gunning for my poor, fluffy little Sorcerer. )

I started out with Aion during the first closed beta, and wanted so badly to like the game... I tried. I really did. I stuck with it for quite awhile after launch. I put up with the obnoxious PvPers, and the griefers, and the RMT spam. I tried to work around the forced teaming and the endless grind that was the crafting system. I took to gliding every chance I got just to have an excuse to use Kae's wings. (It really is unforgivable to make a game about winged, flying things and then deny them the ability to fly in 90% of the game. >_<)

In the end, though, I just... couldn't. Losing Kae's name when they did the server merge was the final straw. (I created him literally five minutes after the game went live on Day 1, and yet my appeal to get his name back was denied. I never have figured that one out.) I cancelled my subscription and haven't gone back.

I don't think NCSoft will ever make the same kind of mistakes with City that were made with Aion as far as playability goes... The starting point is too different, and unlike the US Aion crew, Paragon seems to have a fair bit of autonomy when it comes to their game... But that experience hasn't given me much confidence when it comes to any bits that NCSoft DOES handle. Like the billing and CS end of things...

Same here... I like the Rikti a lot (and bought him a few minutes ago-), but the Coralax has always been one of my favorites.

I've been PUGing it almost exclusively while getting the CCE on all of my bird things, and the queue has come up with a few... interesting... combinations.

The most humorous one was on Union. My KM stalker ended up grouped with three Controllers. I've been giggling about Adammas being a tank ever since.

(He did, in fact, successfully tank the Abomination. )

I ran the arcs once with Anigan just to see them. I haven't run them again with anyone else, and I don't intend to. I'll stick to DfB, street-sweeping and radio missions... Or just letting my new characters spend their first 20-odd levels in Praetoria.

And, by that reasoning, we shouldn't have had female bovine heads in the Animals pack. After all, the minotaur was male. <_<

Sorry, but I'm just not convinced that's a "good enough" reason to gender-limit costume pieces.

I figure Anigan stuck around just to keep "those dang-fool kids" out of trouble. The guy may be a gruff old bruiser, but he's still got a protective streak, and that bunch seemed pretty hopeless. <_<

That's really the only problem I had with Twin Shot... The automatic assumption that my character was some young pup.

I was running those arcs with Anigan. He's old enough to be any of those kids' father. It was just face-palm worthy silliness to have him constantly addressed as "kiddo". >_>

Now, I know as well as anyone that it's impossible for the writers to account for even a fraction of the character designs we come up with, and that often their "default" choices can lead to some grumbling (See the massive number of dialogue points that refer to all characters as "human", for instance, even when many of us play things that obviously aren't-), but it seems reasonable to me for them to at least make *some* effort to avoid that kind of thing where possible.

But they don't.
And we end up with something ridiculous.

Yep. I just checked my Talisander account and it's the same for that one. Billing date on the 19th, just like the main account... but got its 400 points on the 12th. o_0
