  1. It really just depends for me. Something it isnt a lack of imagination, but rather I find the idea dumb

Having to go to a trainer. Nope. Don't care for that idea. Would of been better if it was "You level up" an a box opens up for you to train.

Enhancements. Dumb! Don't care for that idea either.

So obviously stores to buy them seem stupid to me. I ignore those.

I treat Icon as a clothing store that also happens to sell hero wear. I figure anyone can shop there.

Dr Aeon (or whoever it was) making it so powers were proliferated? Also to stupid for me to care for. I ignore it.

Why wouldn't you ignore some things in game? So you get captured, put ina cell, yet they don't take away weapons or put a power dampenner on...or barring all that...kill you? Or tie you up?

Now lots of the storylines I keep wiith when they're in game.

I also tend to ignore players who's characters are some how related to/in a relationship with an NPC. I don't care if they do it, but that seems like a concept that just steps on others toes.

    *shakes fist at Aeon*

So wanted Mally to get that hero salute. :-(
I dont know if that's cheated really. Going for badges was an option one didn't have to do. At most maybe the older villains who had no choice but to play redside due to AT restrictions at the time.

Buuut...I think this is awesome! It means your actionshave a little more effect ont he story, and that is always a good thing!
  3. Has anyone come up with the best DPS strings for these two sets? With and without the use of Gloom?

    If so, mind sharing them?
  4. Something for the devs to consider is to just make Boxing and Kick AWESOME ATTACKS! :O

Okay maybe not to the point of tier 9's...but, instead figure out the average damage to recharge/end of melee sets tier 1 or 2 attacks, set them up as that, and then ATs can use them based off of their own ATs merits for using melee attacks.

So take all the tier 1's or 2's from all the melee sets, figure out the average damage of them, set that as the level of damage for Boxing/Kick, then give them the stardard End/Rch levels.

This would make them useful attacks. Some sets would benefit less from using the melee attack, but others could see it as useful.

What's most often the bone of contention is when the game expects them to grow, often in a very specific fashion, and I simply don't want to do that, or at least not in this particular fashion. Years ago, I complained that I didn't want to use sets I got from Arachnos, and people advised me to "just say you stole them." Well, that's fine, but it doesn't avoid the problem that I don't want to use powers I got from Arachnos. It changes the means of obtaining them, but they're still Arachnos' powers. The final power is an Arachnos minion summon, after all.

The trouble is that HOW a player wants a character to progress doesn't always jive with how the game tries to tell us our characters are progressing. If my character is defined as possessing superior strength, then I want an Incarnate power which looks like it's based around strength. I could make up some cop-out about why said character can now toss fire, but it misses the point that I DON'T WANT TO.
I know how you feel with the judgement powers, and yeah, sometimes it's suckie to handwave the story away to grab Soul Mastery because you (for example) prefere it's visuals over Dark Mastery's.

Though skipping the pet always seems easy enough, so I don't see the problem there myself. But Soul Storm is animation love
  6. Oh, should add though, that I do take concept powers, however. I let IOs pick up the slack for concept driven power choices.

Jump Kick, Spring Attack, ect, powers Ive used and slotted. JK tends to be slotted more for set bonuses, buuuut, it's usually slotted well enough that when Im not trying to DPS an AV down, I'll use it in normal missions just for the fun of it (I like it's animation )

Spring Attack is nice added AOE, but getting to grab it usually means I'm taking powers I don't really need.
  7. Nope. While the story might say incarnates are all that, when done with just SO builds, they don't really feel all that incarnate

And I'm not even looking to play what the game calls incarnate level superheroes. I'm happy with Spider-Girl, Batgirl, X-23, Gambit, Spider-Man, Wolverine level of superhero. Without IOs that feeling just isn't there.

I might be willing to pay for alternate animations, but 800 points, while Im sure I could do it for sets I want them for, seems steep If they were 400 points, Id probably be okay with it.

The problem with that, is they consider alternate animations harder than new sets, so they likely wouldnt go as low as 400 points.
  9. I only use the envenomed dagger and only keep it handy as a just in case. for when the team just can't beat an AV fast enough, or enough (usually this means ITF and Kahn TF)

With IOs, JB might think that Blasters are already there!

No way. He'd have all the awesome moves of Dual Pistols without even having to throw in a punch/kick unless he wanted too.

Also Cyclops comes off as a scrapper as well.
  12. I say go for the redemption of Ghost Widow and Recluse, and the fall of Manticore who now believes all heroes to be the villains, when we see that Statesman is dead and way to many heroes cheering in the streets about it.

I'd say there's a big disparity in survivability (solo wise) when it comes to sets such as ELA, DA, and FA, basically Resist sets. Where an equally build Tanker just has better resists than the Brute.

Still like the idea of raising Tanker's enhanceable damage (so they have to build for it). Lowering Brutes max Resist to 85% also a good idea (and one that shouldnt have been abandoned in GR Beta).

Though having a Tanker able to generate more threat than the Shield Scrapper would be nice too

And this is where your arguement just fell flat.

No, I still haven't been able to represent the scrappers and stalkers successfully from comics, as many scrapper and stalker types have ranged abilities.

Deadpool is a scrapper who goes around with dual pistols. Gambit is a scrapper who goes around throwing objects. Personally, I'd argue that Jubilee is a scrapper that did the same thing when she could use fireworks.

Tankers are considered devastating melee fighters because their attacks originally had higher damage over the other melee AT, Scrappers.

Knockout Blow was HUGE number, while Scrappers had nothing equivalent. Now with the proliferation, they never did change the sets to represent that for Tankers (increase some of those attacks in sets to do more damage while also having higher RCH and END Cost).

And I think everyone is waiting for you to show how the Tanker isn't more survivable than the other melee ATs.

You keep saying the others are as tough as Tankers, but what it is, is that the other melee ATs WITH IOs, can be made just survivable enough and that's usuablly based on getting enough defense into the build, which a Tanker generally does easier.

Solo wise, for survivability the only thing a Brute has over Scrappers is generally more HP. A few fringe cases of having better elemental resist to a specific element due to the Brutes higher caps.

Some things to do though JB is why not call for some changes? I'm still for Brute's maxing out at 85% Resist, putting Tankers are the top of max resists.

I'm also for Tankers damage cap being raised to 500%. The limiting of 500% to damage ATs is a meh idea I'm for the idea of raising certain ATs enhancable damage!

Perhaps Wade had the right idea, but was just a major shmuck about it.
That requires the writers to be smarter than you, instead of going with the story that basically has Prometheus being smarter and stronger.
  17. No, I don't think they're a waste of time! I might actually enjoy using some of the blast sets other than Dual Pistols (which looses out to being such weak DPS) and even buy them if they're sets like Beam Rifle, if the animations weren't more than "stand there and hold out a hand" blasts.

You're totally right! For killing off characters so that your character can seem more special, it's amazing your character didn't get the invite instead.

Only seems if your a character of the ex Developer Jack, you get the axe. :/ Jack was obvious, but Sister Psyche they could of left in.
  20. Wish they had killed someone else off so it didn't become a "Kill of Jack' chaarcters" storyline.

Would it have been that hard to kill off BABs?
  21. I'm not against this idea, however, do you think it will work? I find most people like playing on heroside because either they feel redside is to bleak looking (and I've known some with older computers who keep crashing in GV), and many who'd rather play the hero.

to this day, I've only thought 2 movies were worth the 3D. :/

As to new people taking the Stooges name....well it was tried. De Rita did get Moe's blessing to try a "new stooges" act that bombed pretty hard. Ted Healy tried some "new stooges" in his act after Moe, Larry and Curly finally dumped him, but that failed to. Sometimes it is best to just leave a legend like the Stooges alone and enjoy their classics on DVD. Maybe this new movie will be a hit, but I am understandably dubious. Also the new trailer implying they were the original "jack----s".....well I chalk that up as trying to appeal to the younger fan base.
So far from the trailers, I only saw two parts that had me go..."I don't know..."

When the priest rubs his fingers together and says "We'll need a little of this." and Larry's reply was "How many boogers are we talking about."

That seemed less Stooges and more "Let's make them dumber" to me. Im not saying what they did wasn't dumb, but it's a difference imo.

The other is what looks to be a practical joke to the female with the eyepoke from the box, but context could change that one.

    400%

So figure 136.1% Damage enhancement with Enhancements boosted +5 and Musculature in use.

    160% with double stacked Rage.

    10.5% with Assault.

55% if a Shield user with fully saturated AAO.

That's 361.6% Damage enhancement. Not quite at damage cap. But that's 38.4% away from the cap, so not to bad.

2 +4% to Damage set bonuses, 5 +3%, and 5 +2.5% bonuses would put him 35.5% closer to the cap, but I'd be interrested in seeing this build he has hit the damage cap on 24/7.

Mind you, I'm not against raising the damage cap.

Though if that 400% is with 100% damage at base, so only building for 300% more enhancement...then yeah...passed it and keeping at the cap!

But this does have it going back to be a SS thing and less a Tanker issue.
