And agree on the cottage rule breaking!

    Ahhh, this poor counter again.

So you think 10 Seconds of 100% (or 80% in some AT's) and 62.5% (50% in some AT's) for 10 seconds is equal to and worth the same as 80% for 120 Seconds?

    ... >_>

If it's that big of a deal, fine. Nerf Build Up and Aim too? But the fact you think Build Up and Aim are equal to Rage...

    ...

    Okay.
Never said equal. But if all other +DMG powers increase the damage of other attacks, I don't see why you'd change that for RAGE.

Follow Up and Blinding Feint, Power Siphon, ect...all give their +DMG to every other attack.

I think the nerf you seem to be asking for is out of place. I also wonder if SS is all that in a set combo like INV, and then don't give it Soul Mastery.

Where's does it's ST and AOE damage sit now? How about going the classic route of Laser Beam Eyes and thusly it's AOE attack of Energy Torrent.

Just seems most of the RAGE use takes specific powers to obtain that OMG! Without those specific powers it becomes less of an OMG!

And I STILL think StJ is fine. I played StJ(up to mid-40's) on a stalker. I know what it's capable of. And its AoE simply isn't good enough to make the powerset that much better than others.
And there's a video on Youtube with a DB Stalker hitting 342.

This is not to say I believe Super Strength doesn't need to nerfed. It does. Rage needs to work only for Super Strength powers, which a damage bonus increase to make up for it, since SS with out abusing Rage in Secondary/Patron attacks is pretty lackluster.

Titan Weapons is a set I do think could use some tweaks, but... it's hard to say HOW. Titan Weapons is actually a good set even with out momentum (Superior to Broadsword, at the very least. And Broadsword is considered fairly average). WITH Momentum it's... retarded.

But I'm one of the people that will say Brutes can't be judged in the same manner, but still agree that SS (Rage) needs a nerf, and TW needs tweaks.
Why would you nerf Rage to only work with SS powers, when BU/AIM powers work for all the other powers as well?

Requires going the route of combos. And to be fair, StJ was released AFTER the fact.

If StJ was released in i6 with CoV, it's likely be missing it's Tagretted AOE.

But yes, StJ has to maintain it's combo levels to have that better ST DPS.

Do we know how much MA loses by in the ST DPS?
  6. Not knowing the complete reasoning for your choices (ike I would of most likely gone Body Mastery on DB/WP for Physical Perfection, but I hate redraw, but have gone other epics on it before), maybe something like this...

The starting two combos aren't worth it imo. Also not sure if you're willing to go after some purple IOs.

I also tend to skip Sweep Combo on my build, but it's a good combo.

I admit, I base this purely on the fact that when a new defense set is released, it'll be likely for all (or 3 out of 4) melee ATs. Two of those melee ATs will have a taunt aura in them, and I can't imagine it not making it through beta without people clamouring for the taunt aura not to be added to Scrappers if it isnt already.

With DB as the primary, Im not sure it's needed, but the build would need to be looked at first.

I also still would like to see scrappers get something unique, but my flame protection is wearing thin.
I think we'll see increase in Scrapper love when we see new Defense sets made, Zyphoid.

I imagine new Defensive sets that don't have a dmg aura will have a taunt aura in them that Scrappers can use.

I think it's only the taunt aura issue that really has people going for Brutes.

Also the Stalker buff is new, so it's making people want to play them, but I think it'll even back out after the newness wears off.

I say that with me personally loving the Stalker change, and thinking it's great that they finally do as much DPS as they do, like they should of all along.

I still found Scrapper IO WP build to seem more survivable than an IOed out Stalker build, buuuut, with WP at least it wasnt that big of a difference.

Especially given Total Focus and its incredibly small critical value in a set without any AoE damage at all. Even if Total Focus had a 100% critical it would still hit for less than a combo level 3 Crushing Uppercut (base of 3.56, full critical of 7.12). Plus CU animates faster than TF, costs less endurance, and has the same magnitude of a "better" mez (hold vs stun), with a secondary soft control and longer range being paid for with the longer base recharge.

For what it's worth I have a single Street Justice Stalker (StJ/Nin), but she's only level 29 so doesn't have CU. She'll get an ATO proc (because that's what's really causing most of the post-i22 "zomgStalkers" issues with the huge DPS numbers) eventually, but really I think that the devs were only okay with the performance - specifically of Crushing Uppercut - since it's basically a "pay-to-win" set. Because you have to spend points to get it, not everyone is going to flock to it... and the history of what gets placed on the market thus far (things like attuned IOs, but also including Titan Weapons) seems to indicate that they have no problem with giving higher performance to people willing to give them more money.
But to obtain that higher damage, didn't you have to build up the 3 combo points before using CU?

Using CU at 0 Combo points, is less damage isn't it? I don't recall, so serious question. When I played my StJ Stalker, I always tried to build for 3 combo points before using it.

to me the complaints now seemed to be based solely on the ATO Proc which helps StJ out alot, with AS giving 2 Combo Points (which i dont think should be removed) then with the Proc putting one in a good spot to get a crit on CU.

also likely is that StJ wasn't probably made with the new Stalker changes in mind. If they had these changes in mind when StJ was created, they might not have given AS +2 Combo points.

Same. Have bought all the Melee sets, none of the other sets (BR and BM). Mind you, I'd by the blast sets if they didn't have you just stand there (I bought Dual Pistols because I love the animations...and I basically bought it twice).

    • titan weapons
    • beast mastery

That's nearly one powerset a month. (It IS one a month if you count Darkness Affinity -- which I don't.)

Some of you will protest that not all of these were retail. That is irrelevant. Free to VIP's or not, they still took resources, personnel and testing. Now ask yourself this: from a business point of view, which is more effective? Releasing TWO powersets the same day (one retail, one free) or spacing them out? Even something as popular as Street Fighting would have seen FEWER sales if it had come out the same day as, say, Time Manipulation. With TWO shinies competing for people's attention, some potential SJ buyers would play with Time instead and might not get around to buying the retail set before another one was released.

I am NOT trying to justify releasing a bugged powerset before it's ready. I'm just saying that we've gotten MORE stuff more QUICKLY than we have in the past and all the "I want it nao" posts don't change that.
That could be some of it.

But remember some of the people clamouring for Staff Fighting, likely didn't buy the following...

Darkness Control, Dark Assault, Dark Affinity or Temporal Manipulation. Why? Because they were free.

Then there's those who likely didn't go to those AND they skipped Beast Mastery because MM is not that popular of an AT.

Add in that, there does seem (and I could be wrong, it's just observation) to be quite a few players who prefere to keep to strictly melee ATs.

Also add in that Staff Fighting has been requested long before Beast Mastery, one of the reasons being that people wanted a weapon set that was more smashing hurt and less slicey, maim, kill the criminal feelings.

Now admittedly, when I say that last part, I believe people can assume they're not killing enemies with their lethal style weapons. But that's me. Others can be less forgiving. Personally in comic book worlds, the only ones who seems to stay hurt with those weapons are minions when the plot calls for it and civvies.

Seriously, put those resources to high quality costume bundles like Carnival of Light or even the Sci-Fi pack or to new powersets.

  21. Let me ask, before the changes to Assassin Strike and the intro of the Hide Proc, did anyone think CU's ability to do so much damage on a crit was bad, when it hit combo level 2 or 3?

Now admittedly, I have a StJ Stalker at 50, but seeing as how I don't play it, to the point that's it's transfered to another server, it's not like I'm trying to say "No! Don't mess with my OPed, IOed build"

I see it more like this.

    Here's the set. Street Justice.
    Here's the sets abilities.
On three of the melee ATs this doesn't make it an all that set, but on this one AT with how it plays, it does become all that.

To me that last part isn't bad at all.

As for the other sets. I never did agree with the idea of just because it's a tier 9 it shouldn't crit for 100% damage. That's a fix that should be made to any ST Tier 9 attack, for Stalkers AND Scrappers.
