Quote:that 227 is about where I was with Dual Blades/WP build set to run BF-> Attack Vitals-> Repeat with t4 Reactive. So I worked on my build a bit more and did another run. I added Assault, removed my need to cast Barrier, and started my run at 70% fury (my 198 was starting at 0%) among a few other things. The chain was still PS>SR>PS>SS.
I got 227.41 dps. (6:25). This could be improved if I added makos bite procs to Precise Strike and Sky Splitter and a SBE Decimation proc to Serpents reach, i may or may not do another run later with those but it would mean cutting out some IOs that I would normally have in my build, and I don't think making those sacrifices just to pump up my dps a little makes for an accurate view of Staff's DPS.
227.41 is better than before, but it's still quite low. Most other sets are still going to be eating staff alive in dps.
Not sure what the difference would be with a DB/SR running the best chain for DPS (but I dont recall BF-AV being that far below).
But you're also using a chain that it would seem many consider not the best for SF, or is it in fact the better chain in the long run? -
Congradulations on the child!
Be prepared many sleepless nights! -
Quote:Well it's not me. I don't mind there being outliers. For one, part of what makes those outliers is a combo of two sets.This.
To me, it doesn't sound like this thread is giving credence to a buff for Staff... it sounds more like a needed nerf to StJ and Titan. But that's just me?
Maybe not in the case of TW, but I don't mind there being a top set.
What makes SS/FA so awesome is what the two powersets can do together, especially with added Fury.
StJ isn't a top set for Scrappers, it's a top set for Stalkers. With Scrappers, the tests showed it to be equal to MA in terms of ST DPS. As for AOE, there's still people who prefere MA's PBAOE over StJ's Targeted AOE and Cone. -
Quote:Wasn't that the plot of Escape from LA?Eh, I'm sorry but an "explanation" like that just isn't enough to help me get over the idea that this movie is just a sad attempt to give us "Escape from New York... IN SPACE!" Guy Pearce is appealing, but he's no Snake Plissken.
I'm sure this movie has a few cool looking scenes and action sequences. I'm just not in the mood to give it the full price of a movie ticket. I'll catch it later when I can see it for free on cable or some-such.
That said, I thought it was worth the mantinee price, but the mantinee price for me is 6 dollars.
Guy Pearce and Joseph Gilgun is really what makes the movie imo. Especially Guy Pearce! -
Did DD really die, I didnt get the impression, though I got the impression that was suppossed to be the impression. Maybe it's just me thinking DD should be stronger than that, and enemies dieing left and right is just a terrible thing for a comic book game

Quote:But he also didnt use the best chain by the sounds of it. Did you use thebest Claws chain?Yeh but see my later post of my Claws/SR doing 244 dps with T4 Reactive, which I think would go to like 260 if it had included the Brute ATO fury proc. Shinobi's had both.
260 is meaningfully better than 198.
Need the answersNeed more testing. But I don't think full testing will be done untill later.

Quote:I disagree on that. But I don't mind the outliers or Rage working how it does. But then everyone seems to compare average to the best.Again, TW is the obvious outlier, as well as the SS/Fire pairing. Find any other SS brute build in the pylon thread, you will not see these kinds of numbers. Comparing the set to the two outliers as "standards" is silly. Honestly, though people may not like it, this is more of a story of TW needing a nerf and rage needing to only work on powers within it's own set (as in, not gloom and not burn).
But then I might be guilty of comparing average to upper middle. *so wants DP improved* -
Quote:Was the TW/SR Brute using Incarnate abilties? As for the SS/Fire/Soul...I'd consider that an outlier case, top of the line (and as mentioned likely using gloom). My TW/SR Brute was getting 345dps on average (with some runs of 355dps).
Tommy just posted his SS/Fire/Soul took down a pylon in 2.30, which is 383.5dps.
Now I know I prefere to see sets have decent DPS when fully IOed out (not including Incarnates), so it's not like I want to see Staff come in and be bottom of the list. And likely like to see it somewhere in the upper middle (doesnt have to be top 5), buuut, I wonder if it's added survival may be a reason for it (Defense Power and a way to give +Resist) being lower.
Basically, Id just like to get all the numbers known first to know where it stands and not base it on one Brutes run (no offense to the one Brutes run though). -
Quote:I'm kinda wondering if Incarnate abilities are involved with the Fire/Fire/Fire Blaster.I team more with my blasters than I do with any other AT. They are off the wall awesome when all I have to worry about is pumping out as much damage as possible.
My Sonic/Devices solos very well, but I doubt I'll be taking down any GMs with him.
And I would really like to see video of that Fire/Fire/Fire blaster taking down a GM. As far as I was always aware they just don't have the tools to pull it off, and I'd love to be proven wrong on that. (because I have one myself, and I may be shortchanging him if it is indeed possible) -
This was a Brute who was getting 198 with T4 Reactive.
My DB/WP Scrapper was only getting about maaaaybe 20 more DPS than that.
Last I recall, Brutes generally did less DPS than Scrappers when it came to attack chains that didn't involve using Gloom.
In fact, I don't remember there being a weapon set on Brutes that wasn't better on Scrappers, with the exception of Claws, which had to be ported with Brutes in mind, and even then I recall Scrappers still winning (barely) in ST DPS, while Brutes were top in the AOE for Claws.
I'm curious to see the Scrapper time, with them doing better on the +DMG bonuses than Brutes.
And of course Stalkers win out on ST DPS, new Assassin Strike should assure that, not to mention Form of Body free, with BU use!
So it'd be best to see those numbers (IOed Scrapper no Incarnate) even if it's going by MIDs, which hasnt even put out SF yet to check out. -
When was 198 DPS when fully IOed out, bad? o.O
It's not. But then you forgot to mention he also had T4 Reactive going.
But Brutes DPS has never been all that with weapon sets generally, last I remember, as they don't make use of Gloom. -

Quote:Taunting, attacking and two aggro auras going on my Ice/Ice Tanker who got the first hit in.i'm guessing that you're aware that making standard MM pets unable to slot RIP sets was a deliberate design decision, yes?
The Devs are unlikely to change a powerset's powers solely to allow the slotting of a specific IO set type. You can suggest it, but don't expect it to ever happen.
i somewhat disagree with this. It's pretty much a standard part of MMO design that high DPS can steal aggro from the tank if the tank isn't focused on getting the attgention of the DPSer's target. i think it's perfectly reasonable that if the tank isn't directly attacking and taunting a target that someone else could steal the aggro.
Unless you're talking about it happening against the Tanker's primary target, in which case i pretty much agree. It's also something i haven't seen happen myself unless the Tanker went down. If a Tanker has a target fully aggroed it's nigh impossible to steal it.
FM/SH Scrapper ripped that aggro away like my tank didn't have gauntlet! -
Avengers!
Avengers will continue, so people will have something to look forward to after viewing.
Batman is ending. After they watch it, there's no speculating what will happen next. As it's over.
Sooo, Batman will have people waiting for DVD! -
Quote:There is all this.Could be enhancements, could be the enemies you're fighting (do they have tohit debuffs?) or just the level of the enemies. It could also just be perception bias (as StJ you will tend to notice misses more, because every miss either means you take longer to reach combo level 3, or you fail to execute your finisher).
No idea on the level of your StJ Stalker, but are you using SOs, slotted with at least 2 of them?
Fighting a lot of CoT?
Something to consider, get a Kismet: +6% ToHit IO, and slot it, if you think you're missing to much, to go along with your slotted. -
Nope. I found my StJ stalker to be as accurate as all the other sets really.

Quote:I think Ascension was adopted by a large majority of the player base when it first came out.At the time I posted, the conversation was discussing that when a new costume set comes out, you no longer see large groups of players adopting it as we had at one time. Issue 4 was my last remembrance of such a mass adoption to what could be considered to be a themed costume set.

Elemental Sets are suppossed to display their element.
Instead they could make new visual for Ice Armor that's better than the block of ice we have. -
Will have to agree with the rest.
It hasn't been that magical. Some of the last updates have dealt with magic, sure. But that's not the majority of the content. -
Quote:The movie explains part of that.Well obviously, but that doesn't make for a good action movie.
If these are the "worst criminals", they should either a) have taken a bullet to the skull instead of spending untold billions putting them in cryo or whatever they do up there just so they are the future's problem or b) have a remotely detonated explosive neck collar on each inmate.
Heck, wouldn't even need an orbital prison. Just fence off Australia so they can't build boats and ship 'em all there. Let nature take care of 'em. Plus, you could put up CCTV cameras and sell it as pay-per-view as they go nuts on each other. And yes, George Carlin suggested something very similar. The only difference here is that the square states have some decent outdoorsy stuff and Australia is home to every venomous, poisonous, explosively horrible creature on the planet.
*spoilers...but really not that much of a spoiler to the movie imo*
The space station was created by a huge corporation to test cryostasis. The Prisoners were pretty much free test subjects. -
Quote:Untill the editors get it together and start saying "This is how it's going to be" and sticking to it, I'm afraid we'll continue to see comics going downward. The perennial problem with the Wonder Woman comic is that almost every new writer that comes aboard feels free to supply her with a new city and a new supporting cast. This is why Steve Trevor is a ghost of the character Lois Lane is. But throughout all these changes, there has been one constant: her relationship with the Amazons of Paradise Island/Themiscyra. This was her home base, her Batcave, and if not her Metropolis, at least her Smallville. Losing this is in itself a major depowering, a diminishment of the character. The few characters in Wonder Woman's supporting cast are those like Hippolyta, Artemis, and Philippus that have been developed by succesive writers. Her corner of the DC universe has been wrecked, and I have a problem with that.
New writers come in, have new ideas, and the ideas seem more like "What I always thought this character should be/do" instead of "This is what the character is/can do" and work within it.
Art becomes another factor. It's a visual medium. If people hate the artist, then sales will drop. -
Funny you say that! I went in knowing almost nothing of it except watching one trailer of it.
Watched it, loved it, and thought "It's Die Hard in Space"!!!
Rotten Tomatoes seems to be calling it a sci-fi thriller, but to me it was really action movie which happens to be in space.
The sci-fi element wasn't there beyond being in the future enough to have a huge prison space station.
If you're a fan of Die Hard, I can't help but think you'd be a fan of Lockout. -
Quote:I disagree with having a in PvP only look to the set. It's an elemental armor, should show the element!I don't know, it just looks....too different for me compared to the other sets. I just...it's...the...PLEASE ALLOW IN PVP ONLY!
However, I do think it needs a revamp *cough*DevsCheckOutTheOriginalCompetition*cough* in it's look!
