And what the hell, one more with a variation!
Staff Fighting
PS - SR - AS - PS (Replace with BU when recharged) - SS - Repeat
7minutes 41seconds for 210.98
Again had to use blues, I ran out of toggles I could detoggleIf I can get the END use under control, I think I can shave 5-10seconds off the time.
Again, this is all without any incarnate abilities. I'm not running Assault, and none of the Procs (Melee Purple, Ranged Purple, and GSFC BU Proc in Tactics) are SBE.
I'm not sure how much using SBE would increase my DPS either.
My build also isn't the best for DPS, it's setup for exemping and survival, so better slotting in BU will help (like instead of that level 18+5 ToHit Buff/RCH Rectified Reticle I'm using). -
Did a second run and got 8min 20seconds (204.5) after a slight change in the slotting to see if that would close the gap between Assassin's Staff and Sky Splitter.
All this is on a SF/WP.
If I can't get my end use under control I might just go Agility (Stamina, Physical Perfection and Superior Conditioning will all benefit from Agility's ENDMOD).
Buuut, I think even with the gap, Musculature would still show the biggest DPS increase. Though, Musculature Radial does come with ENDMOD, but at lower DMG enhancement. -
( 38343.75 / time ) + 127.8125 = DPS
There's the math!
8minutes 36seconds is the time!
Precise Strike -> Serpent's Reach -> Assassin's Staff -> (slight gap) Sky Splitter -> Repeat is the chain!
Total DPS: 202.12
Did have to use some blues (maaaybe once I get the accolades this won't be a problem). And I think myuse of Build Up could of been better, but that's the first run.
No Incarnate anything (havent decided on what Alpha yet). -

Sounds like it's been proved S & S's lawyer was trying to screw them over by making it sound like his idea was the best idea, but in fact, his idea (their lawyers) was best only for him, while DC was giving the S & S crew a deal that served them (S & S) and DC/Warner the best.

So now they tease us even more with Penny's great costume pieces and we get to lack them?
-
SF/WP Stalker, currently level 43 and loving it!
Though I think I'm going quite differently in the building of a Staff Fighter, as people have said "OMG! How have you not taken this attack?!" -
Quote:Street level?I am enjoying the powerset as well, almost as much as street justice. It lets me pretend to be the street level vigilante, who protects the streets of Paragon from the lowbie villains while everyone else is roaming around fighting the cosmic level stuff..
"Ha! She can't get to us in this tank. We're safe."
*dink dink dink*
"What's that sound?"
*dink dink DINK*
"What the hell?! Did she just puncture through the tank?! I thought she wasn't super strong!"
"She's not!"
"Oh ****!" -

Quote:The problem with using Hybrid, is that it means one has to be incarnate.Even ignoring everything else that could be corrected about your stance, Shubbie, once the Hybrid slot is out the value of Form of the Soul will be blindingly obvious even to SF's most vitriolic haters. I guess we shouldn't let that stop us in the mean time, eh?
For those of us who do unlock incarnate content, we may want certain levels of performance outside of Incarnate powers.
I know I want enough ST DPS to take on a non incarnate AV solo, without use of Incarnate abilities. -
Quote:I'd be more excited about the mecha set if Dual Pistols was improved to go along with itAm I the only person who isn't excited about this set at all? And is actually a little miffed that by the time I qualify for T9 VIP the only set I want pieces from (Celestial) will likely be pushed out by a set I don't really want at all (Mecha)?

Quote:I know a lot of people who arent comic book fans who want to see Avengers, so I don't know.I actually think The Avengers will have a disapointing box office draw. Marvel has had very little in the way of failure at the box office but out of the Avengers cast', only Iron Man has been a massive success. The others did well, but they weren't huge money makers in the same way that Spider-Man or Iron Man were.
I also think that what makes The Avengers so appealing to comics fans is exactly what's going to drive mainstream audiences away. And while I was jazzed that Joss Whedon was selected to direct the film, I think he's exactly the wrong director for the film if they were looking to make the most money making film possible. It'll please fans, but not the general audience.
And on a personal level, the more I see of The Avengers, the less I want to see it. I'm still excited, but not nearly as much as I was initially. I think it will be good, but the dialogue is looking cornier and more hokey with each new clip. That, and I'm getting a Transformers feel from some of the action scenes, which is pretty terrible.
Still, I'm jazzed about seeing it, and only time will tell as to how good it is and how successful it is, but I won't be seeing it opening night.
I think part of the draw will be the fact that it's bringing together 4 movies into 1! -
Quote:Well yeah, a Troller would match on control...it's a controller. Their whole primary is about control.Im just kind of bothered by the fact that the troller can buff the team better while matching control and damage depending on primary
If Trollers had access to Fearsome Stare in their Secondary (thusly Dark Miasma) they'd do just as much debuffing and way more controll.
Now admittedly, I didn't see the reason to take out Petrifing Gaze for Trollers, and except for my Dark/Ice Defender, I've skipped it every time.
Also personally, those buffs lose a lot in how they work -
Quote:For 800 points, you get some good survival options other sets lack.It could use a damage increase. For 800 points, it should be better than average. It could use a small damage increase, but more importantly, and please, for the love of god...
Will someone fix the damage delay on Assassin's Staff?!?!
But yes! Fix the damage delay on AS! -
Quote:When I said some tankers, I did kind of mean the defense based ones.It doesn't stack, it is still nice though.
Almost every resist based tanker set can pretty much hard cap nearly every resist at this point at endgame. The +resist, even though it won't have as high mod as it does for tankers, will be most useful for scrappers, brutes, and stalkers, or defense based tankers (SR, Ice, etc).
SG member made a SR/SF Tanker, and I couldn't help but think...
iTrial Softcap (and beyond)!
High DDR!
Tough! Tanker ATO! +3% Resist PvP IO! Level 3 Sky Splitter!
Grab Rebirth for the heal!
No idea where that stands damage wise, but sounds like a solid Tanker! -
Quote:It gives -Defense, but can slot a -Resist Proc. How about the attack that gives -resists to target? I cannot think of the name of it right now, but I know it's the very first one...
Which I believe still makes PS the better attack (exept for maybe stalkers but this is about Scrappers!). -
Quote:Why would you have to? It's going to be paid for or free one way or the other. He could of just said that instead of "time and money and tech" and said "we'll pick and choose" wouldn't have made it any different. The problem here is that "it really is a matter of how much time and money," something we have no visibility into. What's too much for free? I really can't tell by looking at a power or animation how much time was spent creating (or refining, or debugging) it. Nor can I tell which ones require new "tech" (is that shorthand for "software engineering?").
I understand, I think, the desire by players to quantify how a thing should cost, but really we're just making guesses, and usually pretty wild guesses at that.
I don't think it's just that the animations for the powers themselves are difficult, but I think interfacing a two-handed rig into all the other animations in game (walk, run, ninja run, fly, probably a bunch more). I think the main issue is there there is often a lot of behind the scenes work to get something out, which doesn't affect it directly but still has to be present. Otherwise it's just not going to work, or it'll be half-arsed in some way.
My 2 inf. -
Quote:Then arent you having to pay for everything anyways if you're Premium? So which one do you save up for first? What if you don't know about something because your a freem/preem and don't have access to things like Beta server/forums? Nice concept, but unless the devs put out a calendar of "things to come" market wise, then it'll always be beyond annoying to those of limited means.
-
Quote:You are getting the content you pay for. The paragon points you get covers all power set additions. What the paragon points dont cover is costume items, and the extra like xp boosters, more trays, costume slots.Really i can't be bother with all this. Im paying for the game allready and i dont have the Points to buy this or half the other stuff i want from the market. !! i Flatly refuse to pay any more real money for points. Give me the contents i pay for !! thats what i say !!
The things that were pay for items to begin with. -
Oh I do like the different interpretations. But still, sometimes, you're just like...I picture her a bit differently...

Quote:I thought this too. But I think I just wanted the extra range for the extra range, not sure if it's balanced for it or not.As far as AoE goes, I just feel that EotS should have a 15' radius. It's already a set that has extended range, it wouldn't be too far fetched that it's aoe had comparable radius to FS and WS.

Something that seems to be overlooked when it comes to Staff Fighting is Sky Splitter being able to give the user 7.5% Resist to all!
I doubt it stacks, but awesome if does.
Buuut, that's still additional defenses other sets don't get. And it's with an attack you'll want to use.
For some Tankers who just want to be more survivalable this seems awesome! Tanker ATO Proc and Melee Defense with more +Resist -
Quote:People did. I never understood why. they've always been and still are squishier than Scrappers, but not to the point of going the hit and run tacticsI don't get why people ever did the hit and run thing, it never made any sense. I've been playing stalkers since I6, and I've had to run away from a fight about 1% of the time (and with Regen, make that 0%... if they strike me down I'll become more powerful than they can possibly imagine. Or something). Don't listen to anyone who tells you crazy stuff like that. Seriously. Who WOULD want to play like that?
I play my stalker the same today as I did back then, except I dumped Placate because it became much more situational and I'd rather have Burn Out.
Basically the battle plan is go into the room, size up the mob. Most of the time it's pick the toughest in the group, AS them down and then scrap the rest (again, this is how I've been doing it since I6). Sometimes you don't want the toughest because you won't scrap them down right away (EBs, for example) so start with their second toughest, clear the minions, then take down the boss.
In the past, I'd also throw a placate to bring the next toughest guy out of the fight to give you some damage mitigation which doesn't seem to be as necessary anymore, so I dumped it. -
Got to level 25!
Not as high as I was hoping to get, but work and needing sleep for work.
Set is lots of fun (imo of course) though I'll still havemy namesake return to Dual Pistols when they get improved. >_>
