    Mutant issue....

This is Paragon City, and the CoHverse. I simply cannot see that being true, not with the long line Super Hero (and admittedly Villain) presence throughout their history. Waking up one day with super powers in Paragon would be tantamount, to my mind, to winning some kind of lottery.

"Oh, wow, mum, I can fly! And I tripped down the stairs and it didn't hurt at all!"
"Honey, come quick, Jimmy's gone super!"
"Ha, that's my boy! Guess you're gonna start living that dream, kiddo!"

Etc, etc, less cheese and more normalism. And, yes, as someone already pointed out the whole X-men premise gets a bit weird when it's only the X-men who are *somehow* the ones to watch with suspicion. Despite, y'know, all that tech, science and magic running around, not to mention natural types.

Any Mutant story stuff should be done as would be fitting of the CoH-verse. I.e. where Mutants are common and accepted (unless, obviously, they go Villain) and anyone specifically against them (i.e. Malta) is the odd-one out, not the other way around. Savvy?
In the CoH universe, there are around 5000 supers running around the world.

Paragon City is the hub of super activity.

There aren't really millions upon millions of Outcasts. Or even millions upon millions of Knives of Artemis.

But the game wouldn't be fun if the enemies didn't respawn.

So I think it would be less "That's my boy!" unless maaaybe the son was born in Paragon City.

Even the description for mutants says "feared"

But they likely don't do mutant storylines because in the Marvel universe it was stories of bias, and with the CoH player base, I can't imagine that going overwell. Look at the boards, someone shows some bias and it's war!

As for X-Men not fitting in the Marvel universe. I think that's more because they (the writers/editors) don't even bother to focus on it outside of the X-Men books really.

There's a difference between "Oh no! An accident happened!" and "What?! Mutie freak think they can make me extinct?!"

Of course, posters likely think, if this happened now, there wouldnt be bias. I disagree and think there would be a lot of bias in the real world. There's a difference between reading the fiction and accepting it in RL.

I'd say the closest Marvel has come to this is Civil War, inwhich it showed people not caring for supers who could basically destroy anything.

Also, if they do to much with it, it might seem to much like the X-Men.

I can too. And I've switched between it easily enough. But some players, they just don't like it!
  4. It doesn't look like it's going to disappoint at all!
  5. Really. RPers Rping in broadcast? That's the one channel I hardly see RPers RPing in.

Local, Team, SG, Coalition, a few Global Channel's specifically for RPing, and the occaissional League chat, but Broadcast it usually the least for RPers.

Unless you mean they're using brackets and looking for teams or chatting away. Then that's no different that the non RPers.

My newest Teen Phalanx group shot by VividAnima

From the top row: Stella Morte (FA/SS Tanker) and Azuress (various)

Middle Row: Nemesister (TW/ELA Brute) Amishu (Dark/Time Troller) and Scorpion Avenger (MA/SS Scrapper)

Bottow Row: Soap Shank (DB/WP) BrandX (various) and DreadLight (StJ/ELA)

Whew! I hope I got all those powersets right! Much like me, some of them have multiple alts of one or do some rerolling of their own

Also, this ramps up higher with recharge buffs.

Besides that, there's also the +15% toxic resistance granted by Reconstruction that no equivalent power gets on the other melees...of course, the Stalker loses Quick Recovery in turn...
And that can hurt. My SF/WP Stalker wishes she had it!

    It's great!

    Now more so!

/WP Stalkers can reach the HP cap, only Ice Armor and Regen can do the same.

I recall it being said, on a Scrapper, Reconstuction in the place of RTTC, would be equal to 3 or 4 enemies in RTTC. So might be a bit different for Stalkers, but likely better than RTTC with their lower HP (maybe not though, since like I said, they can cap their HP).

It is not a bad set for Stalkers at all. Especially if you take IOs into account. Softcap at least S/L, have some resists to go with it and more HP!

More dmg? Hell yeah. Musculature all the way.
SR doesn't even likely have much for the ENDMOD to help with other than Stamina.

More Defense on a Scrapper only achieves like 2-3% if I recall (maybe as much as 4%).

But +RCH is always good, but if you have enough...YEAH! +DMG! \o/

There have been 17 content updates during that time and still nothing. The WST mechanic highlights the SF vs TF discrepancy every month.

Are you ignoring this? Yes or no?
    No.

Really. A lvl 10-15 TF is bothering you? Those level go by quick.

As for level 30-35 TF, run a Kal.

Note, Im not against redside getting more TFs, I love TFs, and Id love to see a wider range of TFs on the redside WST, but it's not that bad at all.

Blueside will always be more popular, and it's not just because GG is right (partially) that people want to be good, it also has the factor of in the end, when it comes to storylines, you know who has to win...heroes.

Villains lose just by being villains. That's how comics work. You world dominating villain will never take over the world.

Psychotic killer? May never die in the game, but people know, in the back of their head, that in a comic book worlder, they'd be stopped at some point. Cuz villains can't kill off the world.

Heroes however, they can keep on going and going!

Redside has content. though the funny thing about that, is why are people harping for new TFs redside, when there's content to be played.

It's not lack of content, it's "I'd rather have TFs to run than story arcs." which I'll be fair and say, that's how I feel about most of the regular contacts too.

Also, redside doesnt need more zones. Blueside has to many as it is. New zones dont have to equal new content. They can easily put new content in existing zones.

guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in the next SSA to see if more permanent changes happen or if SSA 1 was just a fluke then.

    Wonder who dies in SSA2!
  15. Curious. Did either of you check your times without incarnate abilities?
  16. WHy the change to her face anyway? The original Penny had a better face.

And this is twice as notable because Penny is getting such a push that it feels like she's cheating. People WILL latch onto any obvious defect she has, and an ironically bad costume is a primary one such.
When all they have to do is make the white leggings, black, and the costume is no longer bad for many!

o.O Over eight hours an no submissions yet?

Well then, BrandX, two crossed pistols infront of a heart!
  19. From an RP stand point, Penny's been aging this whole time. So the question is really, how old was Penny when your character entered the scene.

You did a low level story arc that was created ages ago. I know as an RPer, I've RPed Penny being an adult for quite awhile now, when she's both grown up in GR and the devs have said she was college age now, here on the forums.

I don't recall seeing TW having 75% more DPS than SF.

Though, yes, I do think TW's heavier end use makes up for some of it's performance. The other thing making up for it's performance is it's playstyle. Notice how it's a top set and yet isn't as popular as other sets?

That's not because of concept. There's lots of players who don't play based on concept. And TW's mechanic is deffinantly not a popular one due to the one attack being so slow for most people, nevermind the fact that for the next five+ seconds they're a giant weedwhacker.

I avoid lightning rod, jacob's ladder, and thunder strike as they all have longer animations and don't allow me to use an orange-ringed AS as soon as AS recharges.

Just wondering if that's optimal as I don't know much about the numbers.....it feels at least optimal.....but then I feel guilty about neglecting my big AEs (I use them solo....or when dealing with multiple targets of course, but the AVs I stick to the abovechain.)

    Mr. True Shot.
    I'd say not likely!

Jacob's Ladder is not only better DPS than Havok Punch, but it can be slotted with a -Resist Proc, and a different purple set (for more purple proc goodness!)

And JL has the same animation time as HP.

To me, Hybrid is just another fun toy. I don't base what I want in my choosen characetrs on them. For me, it's about what can they do before incarnates (admittedly sometimes I throw in Alpha use) with Incarnate abilities being cool extras!

I might throw in Interface use with that Alpha since both can be used non stop.
