Quote:Where those missions even canon? I can swear some of the tip missions werent.Just as an aside, I happened to stumble upon that mission for the first time this year, right in the midst of Statesman dying. It's a bizarre premise for Blueside heroes anyway, but it accidentally takes on a really darkly funny/horrifying context with Statesman's death looming in the backdrop of Ms. Liberty's seemingly carefree briefing. I couldn't help but read into it something like this...
"Hi! You're probably wondering why I'm here in Pocket D cheerfully dressed up for a night on the town instead of locked in my room crying like I have been for the last week or so. Well, it's because I realized that we heroes aren't bound by the natural laws of life and death! And I'm going to test it out by bringing my grandfather's archenemy's old girlfriend back to life! And once I've proven those naysayers at the Midnight Squad who keep babbling about 'playing God' and 'zombie apocalypse' wrong, I'll bring my family back too! So, you wanna help me steal some books on black magic from the Circle of Thorns so we can get started? Great, you go grab those books and I'll start drawing the pentagram!"
It all suddenly made a disturbing amount of sense - and so I just backed nervously away from Ms. Liberty and snuck right back out of Pocket D as fast as I could!
As for that...that's some really crappy writing.
Mind you I never did run them...I think part of me was scared of anyone in those club heels. -
I think some of what's gone on with the longbow is just the writers going along with what lots of players decided they were
Hero group stopping villains to the players became "OMG they're really badguys invading foriegn land" to lots of players. -
Quote:If longbow invading the Rogue Isles is illegal, then all heroes do illegal things, as heroes go to the Isles at points in game as well.Yeah but Wyvern is honest about being mercenary, they also try to be secretive about their operations in the Rogue Isles.
Back when CoV started ,Longbow was presented as the good guys but that was in presentation only. They were always on the edge of things and their presence in every area of the Isles except Nerva was always highly illegal.
Perhaps the most damning thing against Longbow is in the Villain side Clone arc. During one mission your character is fighting Ajax with the aid of your clones on Nerva. Throughout the mission are various Longbow groups and several Civilians that comment about how much they hate Longbow and wish Arachnos would come in and force Longbow out.
NERVA CIVILIANS WOULD PREFER ARACHNOS OVER LONGBOW.
How Longbow can be held up as this pinancle of heroism still eludes me.
Like to defeat Recluse in the STF! -
Can we get some of the Tight options turned into Tights with Skin options?
Buckled Leather without sleeves please!
Patent Leather without sleeves please!
All could be done in the Tanker fashion! -
Quote:I don't know. I expect it'll be fixed when out of the blue. Like a suprise for many KM users!I sort of semi expected it wasn't WAI, but being unfixed for so long you begin to grow to the assumption that they don't think it's so horrendously broken that it doesn't need to be fixed, especially as it does make up for KM's lacking in other areas. When was KM released? Something like i16 with GR i think?
Currently I'd say KM's 100% crit will be staying for a while. The only thing I wouldn't count on staying is the AS animation imbalance in AS. KM's is something like 0.67 iirc, which is below brawl animation, whereas others are around 1 second higher than it, and synapse did say that he was going to bring them all to a 1s animation.
"Oh hey! Look! We fixed this long standing bug!"
Kinda like the Hami-O bugs -
I hope the only successful way to complete this invansion by Nemesis, is not to beat it, but to just survive it!
^_^
I want to see Nemesis succeed! Or at the very least, be seen as a victory for Nemesis -
Start forming teams for them. Use those global channels! If you build it, they will come!

Quote:While I won't say Staff is terrible, it does seem they have that sort of thing going with the powersets.Dag nab it. Reading this about Staff makes me want to abandon my Staffer, and be highly suspicious of any new melee sets the Devs may be planning...and I was enjoying my little Staffer very much....why is it the fun to play sets have to be terrabad in performance???
If it is for balance purposes, I say Bah...and...if this is the case, when are you going to release to us, for the sake of balance of course, an extremely ugly, eyesore of a melee powerset which is uber to play in the higher levels????
No way do I want to get into the high levels only to find I am hitting like a kitten.
:Sigh:
Well, hmmm, tell me, how does a Staff/Fire Brute do in the upper levels?? /Fire has Blazing Aura, Burn and Fiery Embrace..do these help shore up the kittenish damage I have been reading about in this thread?
Lisa-Scowling a mighty Lisa scowl which could be a power in itself
"We'll sell this set by it's numerical values! We'll sell this set for it's awesome animations!"
"Why not give the awesome animation sets better numerical values?"
"Are you kidding? That'd be OPed!"
-
Quote:Oh! I'm not saying the other sets don't need a bit more. While I can't comment on Trick Arrow, I'm going to guess Poison's problem likely comes from being a MM only set at first.I definitely agree that Dark, Rad, Traps, Cold, and Thermal have the only level of -regeneration that is game altering, and that it is absurd for these sets vary between -500% and -1000% while other sets are stuck much lower. Time isn't really on my radar in this regard just because it is so good at every facet of this game. But why do Trick Arrow and Poison wallow with negligible -regeneration when they are debuffing specialists? Trick Arrow has no duration on its -regneration, while Poison is stuck at -50%, or 1/10th to 1/20th of the value found in the above sets.
That would be my guess on it anyways. -
It was a bad change then (at least in PvE) and it's still bad
I stuck with my WP/EM for a bit, but just couldn't do it, even more so when I felt my tanker wasn't even needed on quite a few TFs (though watching 7 Trollers/Dom steamroll some TFs is pretty amazing)
-
Personally I'd put Broadsword and Battle Axe at the bottom, but I really can't say if that's the case.
I've heard many times how Dual Blades is weak, but then we see DB/ELA combo seems to come out on top for at least ST DPS.
Missing with DB's combo's never effected me though, as missing an attack in it's combo, to me anyways, was like missing an attack in any chain that didn't have a combo. You missed, you did less damage.
But I can see how people feel a miss means less damage since the combo system probably makes the feeling worse (it really isn't tho).
Pairing something with shields will also make a big difference.
Pairing with Fire Armor will also make a difference.
Assuming SR or WP for a secondary...
1) Titan Weapons
2) Dual Blades
3) Claws
4) Katana
4) Staff
5) Broadsword
5) Axe
5) War Mace
I always thought BS/BA/WM felt pretty similar (so not going by actual numbers, just game play) while I think Katana and Staff are pretty equal.
Though we're not including Spines as a weapon set? -
Quote:Really, I think I'm going from a solo view point. From a team standpoint, I'll grant you, I think TM wins for the defense, as it's easier to give defense to all versus always trying to keep the enemies bogged down with -ToHit.OK... Time has damage buffs for allies, grants 50% +recharge on a perma basis with access to IOs (do you know how much this can increase a team's DPS???), can buff ToHit while debuffing defense, and can apply both -Resistance and -regeneration.
Dark Miasma ONLY has better -resistance and -regeneration, and that is the sum total of its damage augmentation. It is not more offensive oriented than Time, especially on SOs and during normal content where accuracy is the greatest hindrance to fighting +3s and +4s.
But I will agree with you--Dark Miasma is bat poop silly compared to Poison. But then again, Time is as well. Why are these sets with massive AOE debuffs, high value buffs and heals that affect both allies and and the caster ALSO better than Poison at -Regeneration? Heck, why can Dark Miasma apply more -resistance to a 25 foot radius (double++ stacked Tar Patch) than Poison can apply to a single target? Why is a set like Poison with tier 8 and tier 9 powers that force you to enter melee range doing such with no self heal or self buffs, while self buffs and self heals are doled out like candy to every other set (TA excluded)?
But like I said, I wasn't trying to TM's -Regen past DM's or RAD's level, just more to make it worthwhile. TM's -Regen just lacks in my experience.
Also, I tend to skip Temporal Selection >_>;; -
Quote:I think one has to enjoy the slapstick of the original Stooges to enjoy the movie. No offense, but I kind of doubt this kind of movie succeeds in Europe. Usually this kind of humour is not very popular, at least popular enough to buy an expensive cinema ticket. Moreover, we don't even know who those guys are...
Cheers
@Arda
While I'm sure there's an audience for it, I don't think it's ever going to be as widespread/big as they originally were. Times have changed. -
Quote:Eh, when it comes to buying comics for the big crossovers, I tend to just keep to my normal pulls and skip the parts of the story that goes into other books, UNLESS, I have a feeling of "I've been wanting to check out this book" but that is very seldom.Talked with an old friend/former comics professional the other day, and we were discussing the upcoming crossovers such as "The Culling" and "Court of Owls", not to mention the recent Justice League Dark/I, Vampire crossover storyline. We both agreed it seemed a little soon to put the readership through something like that already. I mean, none of the new books have even had a full year yet.
Frankly, after chasing down books for "Blackest Night" and "Brightest Day", I'm pretty exhausted at the idea of more crossovers right now. Anyone else dreading/loving this?
I like the idea of the crossovers, as it helps unite the multiple titles a bit more, but at the same time, they seem to get written out, forgotten, or retconned later.
So basically, not worth picking up all the titles for a big storyline. -
Clicked the link, then ended up spending 2 hours of watching random Star Trek clips and Weakest Link: Star Trek Edition

Would still love to see (and willing to pay for) a Combat Specialist AT.
Able to mix up weapons and hth styles (without redrawing). Don't need new animations, except for you know still keeping the weapons in hand.
Dual Pistols and StJ mix? Yes!
Katana and MA mix? Yes!
Combination of both those and others? Yes!
I'd make it a tree style AT similar to the VEATS. Pick a Range style and pick a melee style for the Primary and then pick a Defensive Style for the secondary.
Throw in various Epic Power Pools that covers staying natural (Body Mastery) or adding elemental abilities (Fire, Cold, Dark, ect Mastery) with no preset Origin (let the player decide if they're well trained or if their scientifically created, or mutant, what have you).
Then the player can also use the multiple build options to change it up!
Build 1: Dual Pistols & StJ Trees with this Defensive Tree (Id make it so you can go multiple ways with the defense...defense + heal, defense + resist, resist + heal, ect).
Build 2: Broadsword & SS (closest I can think of for a boxing style) Trees
Build 3: Katana & Martial Arts
or what have you! There's Staff, there's Claws, certain combos may not be useable without some redraw of course (like Staff & Dual Pistols) might even allow the AT to have Katana + Pistol combo.
But this is what I would like to see for a new AT. -
Quote:Staff has AOE. But I don't know if I'd call it High Performance.Looks like it's between ELM/Nin and Staff/Nin. I'm torn! I'm afraid some of the love for Staff is just because it's the newest powerset. Plus I abandoned my level 50 ELM/Shield Brute a long while back out of frustration over his lack of single target damage.... there's a part of me that wants to re-experience a better-balanced ELM but another part that wants to experience a totally new power set.
Decisions, decisions...
But it's pretty and it's new! -
I hadn't thought of Crane Kick. Most because it's more bursty I think. But Crane Kick would work as well.
-
Quote:That was never their playstyleRolled my first ever stalker last night. Staff/Nin. I'm level 20 and enjoying the heck out of it.
Was never interested in them before due to the hide, strike, run, repeat game play. But with the recent stalker changes this plays almost like a scrapper. -
Quote:End concerns I overcame on my DM users. +RCH I got other ways on my DM users.So... why would anyone play DM over Time if Time had the same -regen, similar control, 2-4x better defense buffs, equivalent resist debuffs, better -speed and -recharge, AoE -defense (which can take Achilles), Temporal Selection, and the game-changer that Chronoshift is?
I'm sorry, but I'm just not seeing the -tohit debuffs, area rez, and better healing being a match to that.
There are already plenty of people that feel Time is overpowered as is, you're not likely to find many that agree with the idea of buffing it.
I'm not saying give tons of -regen, Im saying making it worth while. Really, on my DP/TM and TM/DP I didn't notice the -Regen. Or at least it wasn't helping at all.
And for all that defense, I had the same defense with DM.
Sure, it meant IOs, but all that means IOs with TM -
Quote:I've level it up to 50 multiple times, Ive leveled Dark Miasma upt o 50 multiple times. I found DM to be equally defensive and more offensive. My bad on the numbers mix up, but Time Manipulation doesn't needs any buffs at all. It is arguably the most broken support set I have ever played-- with personal protection levels rivaling that of a melee armor set and one of the most sweeping tool boxes of buffs/debuffs available to date.
