Quote:She uses many weapons! >_> The devs have made some money off of me and server transfers, character renames hehI thought BrandX used a staff? ..or dose she also do pistols??
Pistols is what I /want/ to stick with, I just haven't been able to make a Dual Pistol users who's damage is good enough...yet! I keep trying! -
Looks good! July 20th is so far away though!

I wouldn't mind an updated version of Patent Leather with this suggestion. The leather texture, only, improved.
Maybe it's that I love the zipper in front, but the rest of it just seems to be so...outdated? Or just in need of improvement? -
Quote:Still want masks that don't look painted on, and you know, cover the eyebrows when worn. And in the case of 'eyeless' masks that's not even a costume part that's an art style. Batman and Robin did not have flat white corneas, that's just how they were drawn. CoH does not use that art style, but if you just love it you could fake it with the small mask face options and some of the faces that have blank white eyes, or a stable eye aura set to black.

Quote:Then that goes back to running TFs repeatedly and "OMG HERO 1 IS ALIVE! *GASP*" over and over again. Not when you team with many people running the mission. Used to be a running joke in the teams I ran with on Union in 2006 that he was always being kidnapped.
Kidnapping States was a repeatable mission for NPCs.
Story arcs are no different than TFs. -
It's a ported set, so it's been around awhile, and there's currently lots of new sets out, and really, I could see people not caring for it's animations.

Quote:Nope.I thought that he spent more time imprisoned and needing his pals to rescue him - wasn't he being regularly imprisoned for years before he decided to hand out a TF?
He was caught once. He was rescued once. It's just everyone gets to run the content.
Or do you really think Hero 1 keeps getting revealed as being alive and it's news to everyone? -
While Im not against a Batman reboot...because well, we know Nolan's is ending, I just hope it's good!

Quote:True, it can be hard to match those pieces with some others. :/ But with a bit of tweaking of the celestial armors color and the other pieces you can make them really close, sadly I've only been able to do it with a few colors. There is something nobody has asked yet.
Are these pieces all shiny and reflective just like celestial armor is? if so then my heart is breaking. although these pieces are AMAZING and i cant wait to have hands on them. if there all shiny then they wont match up with ANY OTHER PIECES that would truly be a disappointment because i hate costumes that use all the same set. it lacks creativity and and style i wont use more then 3 pieces of the same set on a single costume the shiny reflective celestial armor made this very difficult. -
Quote:I remember it, but can't find it.Something that I thought would be announced at the Summit was a Free for ViP powerset for I23. I could have sworn the devs announced awhile back that a Free for ViP powerset would be released with each new issue.
I thought that was said in an Intrepid Informer but I did a quick scan of those articles didn't find that statement anywhere. Does anyone else remember reading anything like that?
Maybe I'll dig up Von Krieger's transcripts of old Ustreams. Maybe this is a statement Zwill made. And if Zwill lied I'm gonna rub it in his face.
they may have changed their minds on it. -
Naa.
either standing triumphantly or carrying the world. Not holding up the new signature character that got to hop into the FP spot instead of the player character, when it was said killing States off was about making the player characters #1
That'd be parading around the opposite -
Someone tell the devs to just make more Defensive Sets! They don't need to be heavy graphic wise (usually discouraged anyways) and just need more options!

Quote:I think GL's problem was in the bad guy they used. It wasn't one people want to see.I think where DC falls down is, well, they just aren't as funny as the marvel stuff.
the big names in the Justice League, they're all VERY pompous and pious, especially the likes of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. There's no light-hearted undertone in the team, nothing to overcome when they have to win the battle
Avengers has that in spades, it feels like a real dysfunctional and human team, one that you can believe in and support and want to win when they group up at the end.
The JLU animated series worked as it had the humour of Wally West as the Flash, plus a lot of funny supporting characters. A movie with Barry Allen in it, the only one of the big 7 that's really got a sense of humour is Hal Jordan, at least in his early days. I think that's what they tried to introduce with the GL movie but it never quite gelled in the same way that Robert Downey Jr did with Iron Man.
Comic Book movies such as the big teamups work best when there's a little bit of humour in there, Justice League will be hard pressed to do that.
While I rather liked it, it would of had better mass appeal to have Hal go up against an opponent that felt like a person and not a big mass of dust.
It's also the problem with Superman. We need to see him do those special scenes of lifting heavy objects, flying through the city, but you need to see them against opponents that allow them basicly to go hand to hand with their super abilities.
We already know the heroes are going to win, but it's more appealing to feel the sense that "Hmmm...this person could do it"
You can have that with Superman, you can have that with GL, you can have that with WW.
Batman of course you can have that.
Good scripts work too. -
It works while hovering. You're releasing energy, not really ground specific.

Quote:I figured a laser moved faster than a bullet.Just had a thought that was inspired by this movie. Would projectile weaponry be very effective against Jedi since they like to deflect blaster bolts coming their way. Of course, regular projectile weaponry would be useless, but make every bullet an explosive round that blows up when cut should be deadly against a jedi. Of course, a machine gun might be effective against jedi since they should be faster than a jedi's ability to react.

Quote:I think it's more along the lines of many things, not just a few.Well, you have to remember the forums aren't the only avenue to speak about the game or even are the majority when it comes to thoughts or ideas.
But it does leave me scratching my head about Radiation Armor. Yeah, I'm sure it's a hot topic of a lot of threads on the forums, but you can already make a radiation armor character in the game: Dark Armor colored something other than dark and Radiation Emissions on Defender, Controller or Corruptor. IMO, asking for Rad armor is like asking for melee weapon sets on Defender/Controller to fit the theme of a melee Rad character...or asking for Storm Armor because apparently Storm Summoning isn't 'armory' enough on those other ATs.
Feels like the playerbase is squandering what little opportunity we have...or maybe that the devs should actually use that avenue of player feedback to make future sets to avoid conflicts like Bio Armor vs Rad Armor...which I'm sure Bio could fit a Rad theme and if not, Dark.
That said, Thrown Weapons would have been a great set, animation wise, for the ranged ATs. Even if kept simple, there are various ways to throw things: overhand, under, backhand sweep, multiples, arching...a lot of character movement vs push hand out, push two hands out.
Radiation Armor!
#1 is a lot of players don't think like that. They don't see Dark Armor, think to color it green and call it radiation. To them, Dark Armor is Netherworld energy.
I used to use Energy Melee as Psi Melee, and lots of times people would say "No. It's not Psi Melee. It does energy damage!" ect ect And even if I said it's created psychicly to delever energy damage, they just wouldn't accept it.
#2 game play mechanics. Melee vs Ranged. Maybe this Radiation Armor will give people the playstyle they want for a melee toon, that the other sets do not.
I know I'm still hoping for a Positional Defense/Regen-Self Heal set with Smashing/Psi Resist just to fit my concept.Though, I can get close to this with Time Manipulation (Time Manip itself fits the concept too), without my prefered Range set delivering enough DPS, Id rather go melee.
#3 Just more options period! Some people don't like to repeat powersets. Some just want more options.
And lots of other reasons I'm sure. -

I'm going to go with no as well.
And really, /ah command is how I think it should of been done from the beginning. Really, the idea of an auction house that sells stuff to heroes like that was always a dumb to me.
Now a Black Market for Villains makes sense. But the auction house for heroes = meh!
Hmmm...that could of been a good way to go from the start! /ah for heroes and /ah and a black market for villains, then red side exclusive players could feel all warm and cuddly with having something the blueside doesn't! -
Wish I could of been there. New Defense Sets is what I want to see too!

Quote:When longbow first came about, the PPD wasn't exactly considered effective. The way I view Longbow as a player of both redside and blueside and having a few characters who's bio ties into working in or closely with heroic organizations like Longbow, Wyvern and Vanguard...
You have to have a certain level of vigilantism to want to join Longbow. Why else would one feel the need to join a para-militant organization like Longbow but *not* join the Army/Marines, PPD etc? You don't think the meta superheros are thwarting villains properly? Why would one think they'd have to go so far as to carry grenades, assault rifles and flamethrowers just to 'help'?
It's one thing to dawn a cape and tights and jump in to bust up some villains, and it's another to exercise martial law when there's a perfectly capable police force. If the PPD step out of line, they're subjected to the laws and punishable by the government. I doubt Longbow can say the same.
So yeah, if anyone in Longbow are 'heroes' and want to join an organization to help the city, they should be in the PPD. End of story.
PS: And before one asks "Well why don't all blueside characters join the PPD?", I'll say not all blueside characters want to join a larger organization that enforces the law on an entire population. Some just want to do what they can. If you're going to be the workhorse for an agency that enforces the law, join the right one. Otherwise stick with the cape and non-committed agencies that don't break laws where they're convenient.
They were undermanned, cowering in fear, ect ect. The only thing the PPD had going for it at the time was it was considered the most uncorrupt police force anywhere.
I believe that last bit has changed, not sure, but the first part has, with the PPD getting more tools and new metas in the ranks to help fight crime, and even then, the PPD still needs the cape and cowl set to help keep the crime at bay.
As for Longbow carring around grenades and flamethrowers, I believe it was BABs who said the enemies we fight are tough enough to take it.
