    Broadsword ?

    ...Headsplitter. It's not a cone for Stalkers?

    I checked in game says it's a cone. MiDS however, shows it as a single target set for IOs.

    Is MiDS wrong? Or is was HS changed when ported over to Stalkers?

    SR isnt hard to soft cap on it's own (as mentioned), but I personally, prefere COLD/ over STORM/...but in the end, either set would work.

    I just like COLD's debuffs more. Storm has the advantage of Heal though.
  3. I have a lvl 32/33 DM/WP Stalker. I have lower levels of Elec/WP, had a lvl 28-30 EM/SR.

    But what I want to use is DB or BS and WP or Ninja. But what I want is to beable to let loose with the DPS.

    Am I looking at the wrong sets for that? DB just seems lacking, but maybe that's just because I'm so used to it on scrappers.

  6. I can't say I'd go for this set.

    I've pulled off Lucky hero/villain concepts with SR, EA, and Force Fields (Probability Fields).

    No need for a set like that imo.
  7. ...can a villain get this weapon skin unlocked at lvl 1? If so, how? Just complete someone else's arc?

    Or do you need to farm the Overseers?
  8. Willpower is probably the easiest and best secondary imo if you're going to grab some IOs.

    SR is the easiest to softcap for defense if you're not going to use IOs.

    Energy Aura, is what my new brute is, and she's fun. Haven't found her difficult yet, and come to think of it I need to buy her that 3% Defense IO today

    1) Spin & Eviserate have always done fine for me. Shockwave does knockback, which hurts INV survivability, unless you push them into walls (ect), but AI really just never liked the attack (in my experience).

    2) It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Notice how Claws/ is a popular AT soloer for a reason.

    3) Dark and Ice

    4) INV is very survival inhigher level, against what and how good depends on facotrs of...do you plan to IO or just use SOs/Gen IOs?

    Note: I don't see why you would be having END issues. Did you grab STamina? Claws is one of the most END friendly sets around.

    Again, depends on the justice system. As for the one who kills him...then what? You go to jail yourself?

    A regular civilian would be like Batman going one on one with SUperman, without kryptonite in hand...Batman is going to lose.

    By the way, I apologize if that part sounded insulting in anyway. I really was just trying to keep it nice and pretty plain, keeping it to the real world sense that I was replying to.

    Personally, I like my comics staying where they are...fictional If heroes killed off all the badguys, how would we get more issues?

    Well with my suggestion, my biggest complaint is just Flash Arrow. I just find it REALLY REALLY lacking.

    The -Regen and little ticks of damage were just gravy points (I like -Regen, as I PuG TF alot, so I can run into teams that need more than -Resistance to take down an AV on occaission).

    The added ticks of damage was flavor for the set. Give it a little nudge.

    Agreed! I want Flashy sets! I want Dual Pistols to be a flashy set for sure!

    I've been waiting for a Dual Pistol set for almost 5 years, I hate to see it be a "stand there and shoot" boring and simple set. I want those acrobatic moves put in.

    Which as someone who couldn't get the DP set as a scrapper, I'd hope they'd make it look like a scrapper using it...

    I'd have to say you're wrong. But I'll explain why.

    First off, Batman isn't that type of vigilante. He's not the kill just to get rid of the criminals, type of hero. He's the type that goes about catching them, then letting the courts decide.

    Second, Joker is insane. That's a nice way to stay off death row.

    Third, you want to keep it to the more realistic world, then you have to realize, being liberal is the in thing! Liberals are anti death penalty (won't say that goes for 100% to avoid any hurt feelings, and my intention isn't to start some a political debate...so let's don't). Don't kill animals, and that includes other people! Even if they are murders (psychotic or not).

    As for the other criminals, I couldn't truthfully say how many were killers and not insane. I don't recall Penguin being a psychotic killer, but I don't recall him being a big time killer, like the Joker.

    Two-Face, insane.

    Catwoman, again, not a killer (doesnt mean she hasnt, but again I don't recall).

    Most of Batman's rogue gallery I think can probably be declared insane, and why they go to the asylum rather than a real prison.

  17. And a note...just remember Spines doesn't lose out on dps when you redraw...sooo...all that AOE from Spines, combined with Fire Ball = YUMMY!

    Hmmm...

    Force Field, you can get by with just redrawing everytime you have to bubble up your team. It has some more useful powers, but they aren't needed even if they are useful now.
    You don't need to grab Repulsion Bomb. It does decent damage, and does knockdown, but you don't need it.

    Sonic has a few more powers I'd personally suggest taking, but you could get away from not taking if you really wanted to skip the redraw.

    I've been on teams were my toggle debuffs werent needed by my /RAD, before, for normal missions, but for those teams that need them, you'd be redrawing alot.

    AV fights you'd most likely beable to toggle up and then not worry to much about it. Unless you need to use the AOE heal alot.

    Dark Miasma has the same problem as RAD.

    Empathy would be LOTS of redraw as well.

    Thermal would also depend on the team. Minute you get on a team that you need to use those heals on, you will be redrawing, when you're not shielding them.

    Storm would be redrawing for it's powers alot.

    Traps, tough call, on my TRAPS, I havent gotten to a high level, and havent found to much need for the Triage Beacon on a normal mission team, but the other traps might be needed more often...don't know for sure. But if you do, that's going to be alot of redraw again.

    Trick Arrow for sure.

    Kinetics, oh yeah. SB every 2 minutes, Falcrum Shift...redrawing there.

    Cold Domination...won't need a few of those debuffs when on normal mission teams for the most part...just sheild and go. However, it has a few good ones to use on normal missions (Sleet...maybe Snow Storm. Infrigidate, Benumb, and HEat Lose are more for the big bads you go up against).

    If you want to be a support class, but not deal with redraw...I'd suggest Force Field.

    Personal Force Field, Deflection Shield, Insulation Shield, Dispersion Bubble...there you go. Redraw every 4 minutes.

    Now this isn't me saying the other powers arent worth taking, that's me just saying you could get away without taking them, without 99% of the people you encounter wondering what's wrong with you.

    I know we have a few forum goers who would say grab those other powers. And some of the others are toggles, so you wouldnt have to worry about redraw with them much either.

    Blaster side of things...

    Energy Melee, if you just grab the buffs, just grab the self buffs. Still getting redraw, but you won't need those powers on normal missions...like boost range for instance.

    Devices would cause redraw for those times you want to use the powers, but those powers arent always needed either. Just toggle up the stealth and targeting drone and go. :P

    The others depend imo alot on whether you want to go melee or not.

  21. They way I read your post. I have to say no.

    Yes you have a draw back in there.

    However, what to stop people from always saying just saying they can lift maximum weight and using it in game?

    That "other game" you at least have to put points towards stats for it. Here in CoH you don't.

    Now, I'm not saying I can't see a Defender having Super Strength. I can. Super Strength is a common comic book power, and any concept, no matter the chosen AT could have increased strength to any degree.

    Which one can easily RP.

    However, to put your suggestion into the game, I just see more people going "I want to throw anything and everything, concept be damned" or "I want to throw anything and everything, so my concept ALSO has super strength".

    Now I personally, prefere to keep the game more in line with mainstream Super Hero comics...and leave the Tick (which I love...btw...this isn't a knock on Tick) style alone.

    Admittedly, I have one hero who would fall into the Tick area (it's a Catgirl Faerie Princess Vampire...how is that not a bit out there? :P ), but out of 35 character slots, she's the exception, not the rule.

    And I'd rather not see more of that style in CoH. I prefere to keep it to the more serious side of things, rather than the comical, which sadly, I understand many in CoH don't (for one they don't seem to read comics at all, and didn't pick up CoH to play superheroes per se)...but your suggestion just makes me think we'll see even more of that, and I'd rather not see that.
  22. 1) Fat heroes...I can think of two. Blob and Bertha (Greak Lake Avengers...I can have her name wrong). Kingpin is only 2% body fat, sooo...technically he's not fat. :P

    Besides fat heroes and villains are a rarity in the setting. After all, you're playing a character who regularly goes out and gets into fights and basically has to stay in shape to do the things they do.

    2) As you've said, we can make them, and what you want is just to rescue/see more of them around. This I can understand. I can think of only a few children NPCs (and one I havent seen since the introduction of IOs, because I don't need to shop there anymore...more so because my main isn't mutant origin).

    My suggestion...make use of AE. Though the devs could likely do some more save child missions/kidnap child.

    3) As has been mentioned, if you want a She-Hulk like toon, she wouldn't be a huge model, she'd be female body type made tall. So do you really want a huge body type made as a female (which really, not many people would use...I'm not saying some wouldn't...but many wouldnt)...and just causing more work for the Devs? Or are you looking for the woman professional bodybuilder physique?

    4) I think we'd all like the idea of animals being brought in...but really, I don't want to fight rabid dogs as a lowbie. That starts getting into the "slaughter 5 rats for mission" just like fantasy setting games, and I'd really not want to go there. :P

    But that will require new animations, which I think the Devs as well want to bring in, but don't want them to look like garbage either.

    5) We have animal faces. Could we use better ones? I think so. At least, personally, I don't think the ones we have are all that great. I still want my foxtail for my main/namesake.

    6) We do have access to monstorous claws via the costumes. However, yes it would be cool to have claws have an alternate animation for those type of claws. One day, I hope.


    As for the last of what you said. And as others have asked for. I see high level content. Is it that people just want more?

    I'm starting to get the impression that people just don't want to repeat any of the high level content. Which imo is just silly, as I can't think of a single MMO, where you won't end up repeating high level content...as there is only so much they can do...infinite isn't possible in the MMO world.

    So yes, more is good, and it's coming. But saying there isn't anything for high level characters...I'd disagree. And the game has alot one can do, that I personally would prefere to do when I'm 50...like Oro stuff, PvP, high lvl TFs, Hammie Raids, RWZ Raid...and with the new SK system, one could always exemp down, and get the stuff they missed on the way up.

    Grab Superjump as travel power.

    Noow get all those tenticlely powers and that's your shadow web powers.

    That's how I work it for RaveSpider, my DM/WP Stalker anyways.

    Well, you'll still want to take certain powers...like Tough/Weave.

    And it's not like SD is the only set to not be all that with IOs. WP is good, but it had it's moments of feeling squishy (for me at least) without Tough/Weave and a few IO sets.

    DB & AVs?

    I can't really view those videos of Nilhii. Did he use a certain attack string for his DB/WP?

    I found it hard to get a high defense and the BF - AS - SS - AS - Repeat attack string...:/

    Now...BF - AV Combo - Repeat I could pull off with higher defense.
