I don't know. I still like my suggestion for Temporal Armor.
Temporal Perfection
Auto: Self, +Regeneration, +Recovery, Accelerated
Regen: 15% (Self)
Recovery: 10% (Self)
You are one with the time stream, as such you are able to regenerate and recover energy at a faster rate. You are also in a constant state of Acceleration, allowing any Time Manipulating team members to cast stronger buffs on you without having to Accelerate you themselves.
Temporal Mending
Click: Self Heal, Heal over Time
End Cost: 10.4
Recharge: 60s
Duration: 6s
Heal: 24.99%
Mend wounds to yourself and immediately continue to heal for half the amount over the next 6 seconds.
Bullet Time Vision
Toggle: PBAOE Foe (-Damage, -Speed, -Tohit)
End Cost: 0.52/s
Recharge: 10s
Duration: 1s
Radius: 8ft
ToHit: -9.75% (Tgt)
DamBuff: -12.5% (Tgt)
SpdBuff: -12.5% (Tgt)
You are able to react to those around you as if they are moving slower, allowing you to dodge more easily and take less damage.
Quick Response
Toggle: Self +Res (Hold, Sleep, Disorient, Immobilize, Psionic, -Regen, Slow, Teleport), +Speed, +Recharge
End Cost: 0.21/s
Recharge: 4s
Duration: 0.75s
Res: 15%
ResEffect: 25%
+Recharge: 20%
+Speed: 20%
Your attunement with the Time Stream allows you to avoid mez effects, while keeping your mind constantly shifting, providing a small resistantance to psychic foes.
Temporal Cloak
Toggle: Self Stealth, +Defense (All)
End Cost: 0.26/s
Recharge: 20s
Duration: 0.75s
Defense: 3.75%
By bending time around yourself, you can become partially invisible. While cloaked you can only be seen at very close range. If you attack while cloaked, you will be discovered. Even if discovered, you still maintain a Defense bonus to all attacks. There is no movement penalty, however this ability doesn't stack with Stealth or Invisibility from the Concealment Power Pool.
Future Sight
Toggle: Self, +To-Hit. +Defense (To All Positions), +Perception
End Cost: 0.26/s
Recharge: 10s
Duration: 0.75s
Radius: 25ft
Defense: 8.75%
ToHit: 6%
You're able to get brief glimpses of the future and what is to come. This allows you to increase your chance to dodge enemy hits, while increasing the chance to land your own.
Slowed Response
Click: PBAOE, Foe -Defense, -Resistance
End Cost: 15.6
Recharge: 90s
Accuracy: 75%
Duration: 30s
Radius: 10ft
Defense: -7.5% (Tgt)
Res: -9.75% (Tgt)
You can manipulate your own Temporal Energies to cause those around you to become slowed and sluggish. This causes them to have decreased defense and damage resistance.
Rewind Time
Click: Rez, Special
Recharge: 300s
Duration: 60s
Heal: 50%
End: 50%
Regen: +200% (Self)
Recovery: +75% (Self)
Pecharge: +25% (Self)
Speed: +25% (Self)
Defense: +25% (Self)
When defeated you are able to rewind time, while keeping yourself more attuned with the time stream, allowing for heightened Regeneration, Recovery, Speed and Defense.
Chrono Phase
Toggle: Self Intangible, +Recharge, Heal, +End, Heal over Time
Initial End Cost: 20.8
End Cost While Toggled: .65/s
Recharge: 360s
Duration of Added Effects: 30s for Heal Over Time, 90s for +Recharge
Duration for Toggled Phase Shift: 30s
Recharge: +50% (Self)
End: +15% (Self)
Heal: 35% (Self)
You can allow yourself to slip through the time stream seamlessly, even managing to remain intangible for a limited time if so desired. The Heal over Time is equal to the initial heal, spread out over 30 seconds.

Quote:According to you and Nether Goat and others, that's not name stealing. That is them claiming the name first and being original!Well that did happen to some people when Exalted went live. People who use their forum names as character names reported their names had been claimed and some name campers had said they could be paid to release the names they grabbed.
Whoever took the name "Forbin Project" before you could grab it, didnt steal it, they got it first and that makes it theirs.
BTW not saying it happened to you just used your name as an example. -
Quote:Not the way it's being made to sound like. When I think of the word unoriginal being used in relation to this topic it's when I see someone so inflexible in his thinking that he is adamantly insisting that there is only one possible name he can use, and he can't enjoy the game unless he gets to use that particular name.
But that's just me.
Sure there are some variations of names that work, and hell people might like them better.
Buuut, maybe someone doesn't want to replace the name Gluttony with Edacious (not avilable on Virtue because I did use it ;p) because most people will look at the name Edacious and go "WTF does that even mean?" or even replace Gluttony with Fat Pig (may or may not be available).
Also, some people actually came to CoH to play what it was advertised at...a superhero (or villain for redside) and not want to roll up Lord Knight of Avalon or IMAHEALER (in it's many different spellings).
And wanting to play that does limit names. You don't see Wolverine advertised as GUY WITH METAL CLAWS oir BEZERKER WITH POINTY THINGS! -
Quote:Or you haven't or don't understand human psychology.Well put.
I'm not sure if the pro-name theft cadre in this thread has never worked a day of retail in their lives, or just has zero understanding of human psychology beyond MINE! GIMME! I TAKE!, but the disconnect between reality and their perception of things is river deep, mountain high.
I have worked retail. You know what keeps customers coming back, giving them what they want. This is something the paying customer wants, you know, that customer that's still showing up and spending money. You give it to them, they keep returning because they're getting what they want.
Oh you want extra olives on that sandwhich. Well here you go!
Yay! I'll be back tomorrow because that other place says screw off. -
Quote:You know. I don't find it ugly at all. Oh no! Classism! In a game! *LE GASP* Please. No one has said, make the names available of someone who's account just recently went inactive.Classism, plan and simple. "I'm paying, they're not, therefore I am right."
This is that ugly little underbelly I'm talking about here.
In fact, with the game being F2P now, no account should ever truely be inactive that long.Come in, check up on things once every month or two.
This is people saying, oh hey look, this account hasn't been logged into for 3 years or more years!
And with CoH F2P now, all those people who quit playing because they couldnt afford it, can come back now, log in, and do it all for free. -
Quote:I'd like the disco thigh highs with bikini 2 bottoms!I'd like a version of the "Disco" booty shorts without the thigh-highs.
Wait, so the American average is our minimum....I fail to see what point you're trying to make here. Plus, let's not forget that the average American woman is bigger all over than what we can make in the character creator.
You know what I'd like to be able to do? I'd like to make a skinny male character that doesn't look really really odd.
Also, well, you just help the devs...minimum slider is your minimum, so just keeps going that it IS realistic. -
Publicity stunt. And a sad one at that. It's them trying to show PCness and using a character that might have name recognition than creating a new character who might bomb in the sales department.
Of course, doing this could still bomb sales after a bit, as people will buy up the coming out issue, then drop it.
It's a stunt. And a poor one. It's no different than New Ultimate Spidey. -
Quote:Those "one-shots" were already said to have a sequal coming before Avengers hit theatres. Hell before they even hit theaters. I think the only way they wouldn't have gotten a sequal was if they bombed terribly. If it wasn't for Robert Downy slam-dunking the Iron Man roles, its very possible that The Avengers would've been approached more cautiously by production and movie goers alike. He was the series; everyone else was a one-shot... 'The Avengers' is the crossover that determines if those one-shots turn into series' of their own.
IMO, of course. -
Quote:You know what's better. Not seeing names such as "Bigphatphish" or "xXxNether GoatxXx" or "Yuki Haru Kamamichi" or "31it3 Pwn3r" as considered original names because hey, they weren't taken.you know what's easier and fairer?
Players coming up with original names.
Although I really like the mind reading going on amongst the pro-change faction- I just KNOW those people will never come back, and if they DID come back they wouldn't mind their name getting jacked (in spite of the fact that this entire thread is fueled by people getting het up about names)!
If they can actually *fix* the issue for good and all, that's terrific and a fine use of resources.
If it's just jacking names from one group and giving them to another, that's a waste of time.
Also, lots of players look down on some of those original names, like the xXxNAMEHERExXx (I believe this is available, feel free to use it) or "31it3 Pwn3r"
Hell, Ive avoided sending out tells to the "31it3 Pwn3r" style names to see if they want to team, even when they were looking for a team. I can only imagine others do the same. -
Quote:But when they try to use that name, they have no idea it's in use, so they were original in their use of it.As the creator of the comic had no knowledge of your character, no.
CoH has the advantage of providing instant feedback by way of "that name is taken/unavailable".
Just because it was taken doesn't mean they were unoriginal, which is exactly what you were saying. -
/unsigned
They're epic due to epic storyline reasons (whether people think the storyline is any good or not is a different matter). -
Quote:There being more players blueside is not an unfairness to redside. At least not a game play one. That's a matter of people's preferences.First off leveling is harder Villain side there are way more people playing Heroside. Less people means less teams. Less teams works out to less experience.
Secondly a significant portion of the Villain side content is mechanically harder than blueside across comparable levels.
Thirdly Blueside has more content options available across levels than redside. This is reflected in zones and Task forces (discounting non story hazard zones,co-op zones and Ouro TF/SF)
Fourth there is huge Reward merit imbalance between the two sides since blueside gets more reward merits for comparable amounts of time.
because of the player bases general bias towards Blue side, the Blue side already has significant advantages over the redside. So don't give me any of the unfair/uneven nonsense because it is extremely disingenuous to do so. -

Quote:I don't know. Of those three movies, they could easily not entertain someone andthusly not that great, even if they have the technical merits and what not.fixed that for ya..
Saying best movie of all time is hog wash.. it was a great fun movie that lived up to the hype.. but there have been MANY great movies in the last 75 years to say this is better than Godfather, Titanic, Scarface, or any number of movies is pushing it. -
^^This.
They have all the OP asked for.
Though, I doubt we've seen the end of lvl 50 non incarnate content.
Like Sam said, this is a hybrid model, they still want you to subscribe, and incarnate content (the real post 50 content now) is that incentive. -
1) No idea. I'd say likely, but probably at the cost of more damage.
2) Smoke Flash I find to be suckie. Blinding Powder with the Purple Proc. Caltrops I tend to take at lvl 49 if I take it at all.
3) Hasten is never required. -
More story arcs like Seer Marino's, is basically what you saying?
I AGREE! -
Quote:That's just the downside to being a freebie. You choose to limit yourself (for whatever reason) to any and all drawbacks. Also, free players can't just hop to redside or blueside. Thus Patron Power Pools are not equal for blue and red. If I want a hero, (being a freebie) I can't use Patron Powers.
And before anyone starts bellyaching "Then go VIP", I reply, since the money tree is obviously growing in your yard, why don't you buy everyone a VIP membership? I'm doing good to have internet service so that I can pay bills online.
If I had to pay for CoH, I wouldn't play; though I have bought a few items from Paragon Market. There's a difference in buying what I want and paying for junk I'll never use. Going Rogue costs more than everything I've bought thus far. I haven't bought it simply because there are other things I want more that cost less.
But, as for the necessity of Alignment Missions... I've run more than a dozen of them. I get nothing from them but enjoyment and experience, but then, enjoyment and experience are why I play the game! IF I could switch from redside to blueside and vice versa, I would have no problem with running the missions necessary to do so. -
Quote:The point wasn't that I couldn't have the name. That's an issue concerning the games rules about copyright/trademark violations and how they are enforced. It has nothing to do with unique names or running the script to free up names on inactive accounts.
The comment that was made, was that you were unoriginal if you wanted a name already in use.
Well I was using the name Backlash long before the Wildstorm character was introduced, now it's copyrighted by someone else. Hence I was asking, was the creator of Backlash unoriginal, since I was using it before the comic came out?
Basically, saying someone is unoriginal for wanting a specific name to use, is dumb. -
-
Quote:^This. While I have no problem with the suggestion per se, I really feel that more canon-specific power pools are the wrong way to go, since they restrict people into having to fit with a specific faction's narrative if they want a specific look or mechanic. Personally, I feel Epic Pools were the way to go, since those present generic powers that the player can subsequently explain away with his or her own fiction.
People continue to complain about how Patron Pools tie you to a group (if they don't like ignoring it outright)...so why make more of them that tie you to anything?
Just make more Epic Power Pools that aren't covered by the APPs or PPPs. -
Soloed ITF and tanked STF with DB/WP Scrapper! \o/
-
Quote:Okay. Not -10. I just through out a number. You seriously think my accomplishments are on par with soloing -10 gray con enemies? I do not think it's possible for anyone to be that slow minded so I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you are yet another evil troll. I'm sorry about your condition, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
Thought that part would of been obvious.
But you're still running normal content with Incarnate character. All that is suppossed to be easier. The devs admitted incarnates would walk through the old content.
And that's what you're doing.
Now, I won't say you're over relying on Drain Psyche at all. That's in the secondary. It's a good abilities. I personally don't think it needs nerfed.
Before Incarnate abilities you did how well at soloing AVs with an IOed Archery/MM Blaster? How well did you solo the ITF or GMs?
Yes. I know incarnate abilities are part of your character. However, they also make non-incarnate content A LOT easier. -
Quote:Don't have to. It's an incarnate running non-incarnate content. This to me seems like "Hey I soloed the AV with my level 50! The AV was lvl 40!"Gotta be honest here - this is something the forums need to get over.
Need. To.
Incarnate abilities are a part of every build now for any viable character. I've been around since early beta too - I remember huge feats people did with SOs. Everyone got over the whole 'now do it without IOs' 'now do it without purples' etc etc etc
I'm not saying it isn't awesome! It is! I said I'd be more impressed. Picking the right Destiny, getting it to Tier 4, will help most builds in the survival department. Lore Pets in the damage.
But if it helps any, this is why I ran my Staff/WP Stalker through Maria Jenkins (up to the mission with Infernal & Diablolique both in the same mission) before running the incarnate content...to see if my build meets my own goals (solo AVs). -
BrandX / Brand-X
Spoilsport
Noisemaker
Covenant
Draconic (recent)
Drakaina (recent)
Draconem (recent)
Joybuzzer
Harlequinn
AngelDust
JusticeGirl
American-Girl
Night Beat
All but the recent three have made it to 50 (some even rerolled and no longer 50 as I reuse the name).
If I had to go with xXxSpoilsportxXx to get the name I want or S P O I L S P O R T. It would suck.
I also don't find using a foreign language or calling a character some word most people have never heard as better.
Spoilsport > Blemish Action (feel free to use this name however if you like it) ...there's using a thesaraus for you.
Also, I realize that some of the names I've wanted are in use with an active account. No worries. They beat me to it. But on the inactive accounts that have been inactive for 3+ years, yeah, I think we could do the playerbase a favor and mark them as available.
Hell, it doesn't even promise to take their name. It marks it as available. If no one claims the name and they log in, the name is still theirs.
As for unoriginality. Does that mean since I made up a Marvel TST RP character called Backlash (and wrote stories for the character) long before there was a Backlash superhero, the creator of that comic is unoriginal?
