Because a lot of players went to Brutes for one.
I don't know how many times I've heard people say "Brutes are better." and it seems to be a general consensus.
I still prefere Scrappers. But with the Stalker changes, I can now play a WP the way I wanted (with Reconstruction) and put out good damage.
Another thing I think it's been is the lack of new defensive sets. It's been awhile. Maybe Bio Armor will liven it up, but I think we'll see more go to Brutes (aggro auras) but I think we need more than just 1 new defense set. -
The rule of cool. I believe that's what the movie went with.
I went with my father as well, 20 year navy vet, and he enjoyed it for the fun factor. -

One of the old men say "They're not going to sink this battleship"
But they use the Battleship last, as Battleships aren't in use anymore. -
There's still hope they just kill off BABS! *crosses fingers*

Quote:Well, it did use the rule of cool.I would have liked the sceen had it not been so contrived. The whole appearing at random places in the superstructure just made it over the top. I appreciated the sentiment, but it was very poorly executed.
That was really the problem with a lot of the movie. Not all the ideas were bad, but the actual execution of getting them on the screen usually fell through.
I fully admit the scene had a "not a realistic approach" to that scene. -
I like the cut scenes! It adds to the story!
They only seem bad when you run them non stop. -

Quote:Do you live in a small town? I'm just curious, because that seems to be such a small town way of thinking.Funny thing about District 9, it is so far the only movie to date that made me sick to my stomach..
It wasn't the content, or anything like that.. I think it must have been the camera work, since it was kind of a "shaky cam" approach, which somehow made me nauseous..
I actually had to walk out half way through the movie because I was about to keel over and lose my dinner lol (and no it wasn't the dinner's fault, I felt better shortly after leaving
For the record, I generally do not get sea sick, or motion sickness in general.. so I dunno xD
Anyway, to keep myself sort of on topic.. Haven't seen the movie yet, and my nearest cinema is like 25 minutes away.. So I only go see movies that really interest me.
When I lived in San Diego (now in a small town), it was all "Hmmm...gotta go all the way there...lets go!" -
Quote:Same on that initial setup. And then at the end with Liam.Same. I thought it was a decent enough summer popcorn movie. Not deep by any means, but still fun. I did like how they translated the pegs and the grid of the game to the movie. I laughed pretty good at the initial setup with Hopper and the girl.
And to me, those aliens reminded me a LOT of a combo of Jiralhanae (face features) and Sanghelli (the hands).
It was pure popcorn flick for me.
I didn't even find the tech all that bad. And I squeeled at the grid setup -
:O I thought it was a fun movie.
What exactly was your complaints on it? I'm curious! -

Quote:Marrow, X-23 and Domino all belong to Fox, when it comes to movies. What about lesser known toons that are strong women, like Marrow, X-23 or Domino. You could also try a Dark Pheonix but I think X3 pretty much bugger that idea up.
Not sure about Wasp. The newly introduced character in A2 is Antman, as his film is out before A2 comes out.
Sadly, Fox looks like the type to be willing to push out a bad movie, just to keep the rights.
Wasp is to team oriented to really hold her own movie imo. -
Glad to see people get interrested in other artists. That's how I went about getting some of these artist. Saw someone elses CoH commission and was all, "I need to get one done by that artist."
And I love Dualmask's exactly because of what Starflier said! It's one thing to say it, another to see it!
ViolateKate's though, makes me want to get some parts of those outfits in game! -
Quote:Instant killing of people...has now become a terrible power?the more I think about it, the more Adam X deserves the #1 spot on that list.
Setting blood on fire is a power so ridiculous not even the Legion of Superheroes would admit him....he'd be laughed out of the clubhouse by Ferro Lad & Bouncing Boy.
Not that I'd have gone that route for a character mind you. But, it doesn't seem weak. -
Quote:True. RE and Underworld are considered successes. There's been a trend of movies with an action heroine at the helm; as long as they stay low budget and low profile, successes can be made from them.
Any attempt to over-nerd it could kill it.
I think Marvel has done well with their straight to home animated titles, like 'Spider Woman: Agent of Sword' and should follow that approach to build up lesser known characters and better-than-hollywood stories.
But to be like those, they might be considered bad, due to being Marvel. I say this as someone who's loved all the RE movies and at least 3 of the 4 Underworld movies (havent seen the prequal) -
And another commission, this time from Dualmask comes in today!
I was looking for a pic that showed off the agility of the character (now I need one showing off the regen >_>) And hopefully one day I can get a more Defense/Regen feeling secondary to go with her outside of WP.

Naaa. Not everyone has saved up hundreds and hundreds of EMPs/Astrals/Threads to convert and make the Hybrid slot.
I know I haven't. -
Quote:Well some of them do have globals attached. And I have said, I could be wrong. And how do you know this name isn't blocked for other reasons?
What Im suggesting may not even free up names Im looking at, or other people are looking for. However, it doesn't hurt to do it either. -
Quote:The problem with the badgirl link, is it shows that a lot of those bad girl comics can and have been, made into decent comics while keeping the roots.Appropriate amounts of snarkiness in that list, but insufficient levels of geekiness.
How can you riff on Superman Red/Blue without knowing or mentioning the nature of its homage?
Also, the list fails without mentioning any of the abysmally awful Bad Girl Comics of the 90s.
While those listed in the original list are just bad. -
Quote:If they intro'd her in with Avengers, and got the right actress for the part, I think they might be able to pull it off.Carol Dancer / Captain Marvel - As others have talked about, if she was slowly introduced and people got to know her a bit, I could see this working... But just shooting it as a totally solo picture without the groundwork before hand? Eh, I dunno.
But it would need a good actress and a good script (for both Avengers and the spin off Captain Marvel) -
At the very least the pouches are all ont he belt and the outside of his legs (none on the inside).

Actually. I'd love to see a return of Deadpools original mask. You know, without the extra material hanging off the back.
The mask looks good on Bloodstrike. But then, it's typical mask really. Can't say I care for Liefeld's art (I admit he's better than me though) and really don't understand why he would badmouth Deadpool.
Whether people like Deadpool or not, it's nice to see a newer character hit it off.
