You know. Seeing how some people want more realism in CoH. Does equipping this costume option allow for instant world PvP status and heroes can take down the one endangering children?
-
While Zod may be a recurring villain, at least this means you get to see super brawling action versus just "saving the day" action.
It's a start! -
Quote:You're right. They did make way more money from the movies.I'm not sure that the Marvel movies count as the tail anymore - they generate way more cash and reach a way larger audience than Marvel comics - it just seems like common sense now to flip the creation process and have the movies generate comics rather than the comics generate movies.
The size of the movie going public compared to the comic reading public, combined with the price of movie tickets compared to the price of comics means that Marvel earn more from movies like Daredevil than from their most popular comics.
Or, to give another example, WB/DC made far more money from "Batman and Robin" than they ever made from the most popular DC comic series just like they did with "Green Lantern" and "Superman Returns" - and the profits that they've made from the current Batman trilogy leaves the entire DC comics range in the dust.
Here's where you're wrong. They didn't see any big increase in readership because of the movies.
Changing the comics to fit the movies just upsets the current fanbase. Any who pickup the comic from watching the movie isn't likely to stay reading the comic if they even bothered to pick it up.
Why?
Because going to see an action movie (or movie in general) about a superhero is seen differently than reading a comic book.
Comic books are for little boys! Movies are for everyone!
That's still a common thought process in most Americans.
If great numbers in other media meant better sales in comics, then Teen Titans Go would of been one of the biggest comic book sellers.
You keep making the comics to help appeal to the new market. It gives the movies an audience that's already in place, while allowing you to change some things around and make it work better for the masses. -
Quote:Hmmm...I can't help but ask those who view the Daily Planet as being unrealistic "Are you special needs?"You inadvertently hit it right there. Superman doesn't have a 'small element of the unbelievable'. The whole story is just silly. Superman is unbelievably good, unbelievably powerful, hell in 2012 he even has a unbelievable job in the Daily Planet.
Superman has no grounding in real life IMO. There's not one part of that story that I think could happen. It doesn't stretch the suspension of disbelief, it breaks it. Both the comics and every movie that's been done. My kids will drag me to this next summer, but I don't have high hopes.
No really. DC Universe. Who's to say that DC Earths economy is anything like the real worlds?
Who's to say that people in the DC Universe don't just read more.
Hell, if I was going to view anything as unrealistic in the DC Universe, I'd point a finger at Green Arrow and say "For all that he says he is, why hasnt he paved the way and spread his wealth to everyone." -
Something else to remember. In TDK, they talk about how Romans would go all marshal law and apoint one man to protect the city.
Then mentioned how the last one they did that with never let the spot go.
"Die a hero or live to see yourself become a villain"
Being the real world (as much as it was) the only other way Batman could go out was being killed. Guess he could of ended up like he did in Batman Beyond.
Bruce also came to the conclusion that the city was protected enough by the police force now. It wasn't the same police force from 8 years ago. There was less corruption. Less villains with badges and more heroes with badges.
And yeah, Alfred seeing Bruce with Selena I think backs that up as "I'm alive" as with everything else. Bruce made sure to keep those he was close to in the know, that he was in fact, alive.
The bat signal. The autopilot (Bruce likely knew Fox would find out the autopilot was fixed, just as he knew Fox was the right one to work the city wide sonar and that it would need to be destroyed after it was used for it's one purpose "Have their faith rewarded").
Of course, this doesn't mean Bruce can't return as Batman. Though, if they did continue Nolan's universe, I think I'd rather see Bruce and Selena's daughter return to Gotham as The Huntress with John as an older now retired Batman or Nightwing. -
Quote:And they can't remake them? Can't re earn things?I am sure someone has brought this up in this thread but, I really do not think a CoH2 would work because of the existing characters people have already made. The amount of care, time, influence or infamy, to make their characters playable or what they wanted would make people upset. A lot of people put effort in their characters and now they have to start over in a new one and relearn a system that could be different from this one. Turn off city right there. Rather than make another one, should they do what most MMo's have done, just update the character models, environment and bases to include like A.E. the to include something simple like ability to look outside at the city. But also realize that doing so would take time, heck amount of money, and resources to the point we may not see new content or powers for a while.
So it comes down to a choice, leave as is(dated limits on engine), CoH2 and possibly lose some customers, or update the game further to make it more modern and not see anything new for a while. I am glad I am not in their room or the fly on the wall whenever this conversation comes up.
What? Do they never plan to play any other game again?
Not to mention some of those who say "I have to keep my characters!" have left the game before for other games -
I'd like to see a CoH2, as I'd like to see updated graphics the like of some Korean MMOs.
However, I doubt it will happen because we have players who think it's only worthwhile if they can take characters from one game and move them to the next.
At which point, basically, they dont want to level anything really. New game means new everything.
I'd be okay with all the releveling if it meant "OMG all the stuff I wanted in CoH!" -
Alfred's reaction at the end has me believing it isn't his imagination at all.
He saw Bruce, they nodded to each other, and he left.
That's what he wanted. If it was his imagination I think it would of kept with generic girl we saw when he first talked about his wish, not Selena, and I don't think he would of left as he did.
As for could Bruce and Selena settle down. Who's to say they did? I get the feeling, that Bruce still had money and the two of them traveling about they're likely to run into some petty crooks to relive those exciting moments on.
In Nolan's universe Batman didn't fight that many serious criminals. He fought mostly street thugs.
And that left him battered and beaten according to his doctor. -
Quote:That if it makes enough money on this Batman, they can probably get Bale and Nolan to return!Just got back from the movie and I enjoyed it. Not the best but not the worst.
First off, Batman isn't dead. The auto pilot was fixed.
Second off, how did Robin get the coordinates to the bat cave? Did Batman KNOW he was going to die?
Third, Christian Bale himself has stated that if the script was good he would return.
What does all that mean? -
I'm actually done with wanting some of these new ATs. Though I'd still love some sort of Gun Fu AT.
What I want is some new sets!
A visually unimpressive set!
One that combines Regen/Self-Heal with Positional Defense and Smashing/Psychic Resist.
A set I think that would emulate more of the heroes out there. Resistant to bone smashing attacks, but not blades, strong wills (usually a pretty common hero trait) agile (varing degrees on this but tend to be quite dexterious) and able to recover quickly from inuries. -
Anything with hentacles. And Batman.

I quite enjoyed it!
It did need more Batman, imo.
Also, I both loved and hated the ending! To those with any importance to him, he at least gives them signs that he is in fact alive at the end.
He gave Alfred exactly what he wanted.
I think part of seeing Batman retire (for me included) is some people know the mythos. Batman just never really goes out that way. But in this alternate universe he does and it works buuuut...
DAMMIT! I want to see more! I want to see John Blake become Nightwing (that just seems the better hero name than Robin).
I want to see Bruce have to return to Gotham. If he doesn't could go a bit more into the future and have the Huntress show up, the daughter of Bruce and Selina!
Gordon of course finds out who Batman is at the end, but I wonder, is the only reason he didn't put it together himself, because he didn't want to? I think that's what the movies imply.
As John Blake figured it out all by himself, but maybe that was trying to be a link to Tim Drake's Robin? -
From reading JB's other posts, +145% Damage Buff is likely around the area he tops out on his +DMG for his two tankers he mentioned that could reach the Tanker damage cap on their own already.
I could be wrong.
Not against a Tanker increase in a higher damage cap, however, as mentioned, it would only help out a couple of builds and not Tankers in general.
The FA/SS would be all "HELL YEAH!" while the FA/IM would be all "I thought we were buffed?" -

Like Oathbound, I wish I could just skip that Boxing/Kick on my Scrapper.
But I didn't see that happening.
I do wonder if these changes make it worthwhile for the attacks to be picked up and used by any of the ATs however.
What I am wondering is if it will be good for a Regen to pick up the new power in Medicine pool. -
Quote:Dualmask actually fixed it! I just never bothered with posting the fix. The colors are a bit different with the fixed up version, as he couldn't remember exactly how he went about coloring when he fixed it (and I didn't even ask him to, he called it "Artist Pride")Sorry to come out of the shadows with this like a creepy lurker and all, but I feel I must point something out with this one...
...is it just me or does she seem to have two left arms?
Other than that, this piece is awesome, as is everything else I've seen here.
Please keep posting!
ETA: Ok, maybe that's her right arm posted on the floor, but then her thumb is on the wrong side. -
I may put in a request, but currently in saving mode for PaX!
-
BrandX as a My Little Pony as drawn by Kryptchild who's love of MLP has taken her away from us! I hope one day for her return to the SG!

Before you probably could of gotten away with it easier.
"Hey those are are costume pieces!"
"Are not!"
"Well...ummm...hmmm..."
Now, you just admitted it -
Quote:Eh, that's a problem a lot of melee sets have to contend with as well.Yeah. Which is really funny, because the melee AT players consider Ball Lightning to be one of the better epic powers. The issue, though, is that it has a 16 second recharge, making it really difficult to use in a regular chain before high recharge.
Getting MA's best ST DPS isn't easy to achieve either, and that uses strictly ST attacks. -
Quote:Because it's suppossed to be tied to the likes of AIM, BU and what have you. All powers that give ToHit.What if they just tied it to Accuracy on intended target of 90%-95%. This way it will only have the orange circle if your target is "easy" to hit. Building for Accuracy is so much more generic to ALL builds. Heck, against even cons, you don't need ANY additional help to hit this value. The BIG problem that some may not see is that enemies that "debuff" your accuracy are going to seriously "screw" over a build that tries to advantage "sniper" attacks in regular combat.
It's a good idea.
Even if you can't perma Fast Snipe, it's still very useful to pick up the Snipe power and just use it whenever you hit BU or AIM.
Instead of looking at it as "Can I perma it" look at it as "Can I make use of it?" And yes, every set with a Snipe can make use of this ability in some way, even if that means swallowing down Yellow Inspirations when needed.
Outside of Assault Rifle (and Dark Blast for Def/Corr) I believe every true blast sets has a AIM power to go along with it's Snipe power.
Of course, I'm not counting Dominators, Stalkers or Scrappers here.
This is a nice change, and it helps Blasters. Don't worry if a Def/Corr can perma it easier, does the change help and make better Blasters? Imo, yes it does.
