I'm the same way. Regardless of the character I'm on, I jump in. Because I'm so used to playing tanks, it's sometimes, "jump in, see my health diminish, realise I'm not on my tank, get humbled".

Heh, came here to say the same thing. I'm Asian. I do not get offended, per se, by the term "Oriental" (Though I know several that do), I don't really like the term.

    hallo

    have you seen Jeff?
  4. Not a lot. Due to a crappy response time from my ISP, I had no service from Wednesday till yesterday afternoon. And with it being Thanksgiving, I had some familial obligations, but...

    Got
Frosty McJammyPants, a new ice/ice tank from 1-13
    Morbo, a new earth/rad troller from 1-10
    Bramphousian, claws/WP scrapper from 23 to 26
Pharoah McJammyPants, spines/regen scrapper from 47 to 48
  5. It's a nice gesture, in my opinion. When I first started, a level 10 (!) with the 9-month vet badge (!!) gave me 50,000 inf (!!!) I was ecstatic, not knowing what I was going to do with all that money. Then I spent it all over the next few levels keeping my enhancements green (I figured they would be ineffective otherwise)

So I "pay it forward". I give away influence every so often

A few responses have caught me off guard

    - one, a new player in Atlas refused my trade invite of something like 20 million, responding "No thanks. I want to do it all on my own"

    - Another, seemingly new player accepted my trade invite of 10 million-ish. Then immediately sent me a tell saying "please accept this" and a trade invite. Figuring they'd graciously give me a level 3 TO or an inspiration, I accepted. I then saw them triple what I gave them and they sent a tell saying "Thanks. Second account :)"

    - And finally, (and the only time since AE), I gave a new player something like 100 mil, and their response was, "That's all?" I thought they meant the ease of which they just got 100 mil, and I said "Yep. As easy as that. I'd like to think you'll do the same for a new player down the road". And he responded "No, I mean.. can't I have more?"

  7. It's happened to me a few times on two characters. Every time, it's when I'm logging in after having logged out in my base. Every time but once was at the Talos portal. The other was, I believe, Atlas.

    Few Questions

It likely says that everything is "beneath your notice" or something. It means you've outleveled the zone's scanner missions. Head to another zone.

To set an active mission, click on "Mission" in your navbar, highlight a mission, and click "select task" or something to that efect.

People will argue as to whether or not Pick Up Groups are good. Personally speaking, I have the most fun doing Pick up Groups... just call out in broadcast that you're looking for members for your X-Level mission/scanner team.
  9. Press <enter> before trying to say anything to anyone. Otherwise you look like an idiot, running, jumping and spazzing about.

    Thanks, Ping

Thank you Ping for some of the advice you've posted on the forums. You've helped to make Banana McJammyPants Champ's newest "club" member.

It might have been you (Cowboy something?)

We didn't honestly think you just bailed. As I recall we all got hit with a lengthy mapserver, and you disappeared seconds after that. We sort of assumed you'd had connectivity issues.

    Nibbles at Night

I regret that I will not be able to listen to it. I'd have to be awake too early Friday morning. I'll be there in spirit, though.

If you're spotlighting the 90's, though... Hum, Failure, The Catherine Wheel, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc. would be excellent alternatives to the obvious Nirvana/Soundgarden/Pearl Jam/Alice in Chains (though they are beloved by me).

Any ways there not that bad at all just need to get use to them like these forums.
I'm used to them. I've been a member of many a forum, and I don't really mind them to be honest. Like yours, it's a reasonable height. It's what? 120? 150 pixels? I think that 150 would be a good cap. Anything beyond that gets far too distracting.
  15. I find it surprising that so many people give a crap about their reputation on a message board. For those who care, I do not think anyone is as concerned about your rating as you are.

I don't think that any person would be like, "you know... I bet that Bramphousian fellow is a tool. It would seem he currently has a negative reputation". Likewise, I doubt anyone would think, "That Bramphousian must be a swell guy. He has six reputation squares!"

I will probably never check to see what my reputation is at any given moment, and I'm not bothered enough by the system to disable it.
  16. I didn't progress as much as I would have liked to. I got Pharoah McJammyPants from 38 to 43, and Xiezhi (Sonic/MM Blaster) from 7 or 8 to 21.

And we did an ITF just short of a STAGGERING 5 hours. The combination of a poor team makeup, dozens of mapservers, and tremendous lag killed us. I lost count of how many deaths I had after I reached 15. If it weren't for all the Patrol XP, I'd have reached Pingu levels of debt.

To our team's credit, only 1 person left, and we're not certain if it was that he disconnected. Despite the difficulties, I had a blast. May have been the most fun ITF I've ever done.

And Godwin smiles upon this post.
  18. I got a Sonic/MM Blaster from 7 (or 8) to 22
And my Spines/Regen Scrapper from 38 to 43.

  20. While I don't mind signature pictures... there needs to be a relatively tight limit. Images that are like, 300-400px tall just get irritating
  21. I love that I no longer have to click the "Go" button on the lower-left forum selection drop down.

The old board was the only one I use that had that requirement... so I would often select "Champion" and wait... and wait... and realize I had to hit the radio button.
  22. I like the new look and the new software. The old boards looked antiquated. It seems significantly slower, but I'd rather have a loss in speed for increased functionality.

Edit: Maybe I take that back. It just took quite a long time for my post to go through
  23. Was I the only one constantly checking to see if the boards were up?
