Hey - Take it like a tank. He used the wrong word, probably meant boring. As a tank I prefer to wade into a mob, take the alpha, slap them a bit (to grab as much aggro), and then watch the health bars of my team mates to see who needs any help. Who are always itchin to get into the action and have some fun. Not and never have been keen on "herding" large or small mobs.

Thanks all - it went really well on team 2 - So well in fact that I thick UZZI should consider setting up the Eden or Hydra trial, he obviously has the knack !!!

I have been playing the game for well over a year and a half, and it wasnt until last week whilst surfing the US site that it occurred to me that the Gladiator badges had a use other than being shiny. I had a look in the Arena ..w t f ???
Does anyone have the time to:
A/ Tell me how it all works
B/ Or better still show me how it works. (Toons on Defiant)
I know some people get their knickers in a twist at the mere mention of PvP or Arena stuff, but I would like to experience all of the game, in all of its glory. -

Nice build, but I do wonder how you write up the concept, what look you would adopt, and finally what origin you would run with. I cant see how they would blend into a neat package. They seam like an odd mixture Illusion/Kinetics/Fire - But then thats probably just me ??

I use so little of the primary - rather reliant on the muscle of the secondary. With no problems what so ever OTHER than those tricksey triangles.... -
Its a buff I suppose, so Ill take it. However it still does not address the fundamental problems of a Dominator. What a shame, roll-on the next Issue.

The thing is, I believe that none of us are saying that Dominators are unplayable, or the we do not have moments of glory outside of domination mode. But when we are stacked side by side with other classes there is no one thing that we shine at, we are mediocre at all things. We do well on solo or in small groups, but in larger groups we bring very little to the melting pot.
Now dont get me wrong I very much enjoy playing my dominator, but I fear we will always be mediocre, the combination of control and damage is too powerful in itself. The Dominator treads a very fine line between overpowered and underpowered.
We lack substantial HPs, we lack a solid defense, our holds are limited, and our damage is weak. YET despite all of these things we still play on. Dominators I salute you . -

I think that there is too much disparity between the various dominators for one quick fix method.
Increasing the hps of the more aggressive melee orientated dominators would help their survivability. Whilst the more defensive hold orientated dominators would benefit most from an increase to the mag value/recharge of their holds.
They wont do both.
This I think is why the keep messing around with the magic Dom button. -

Cynic is right on the money. I think we all had a brief time of great fun around the late 30. However in the early 40s the amount of Elite Bosses e.t.c. just brings back the pre-20s world of pain.
But being a sucker for punishment I have painfully to clawed my way up to 42, and have decided that despite the problems I am going to make a go of it .. -
3 RECHARGE - 3 HEAL - NO OTHER WAY. The boost to HP's is great

I would defiantly go with hot feet, it adds greatly to the chaos that is a fire/fire dom. It has a soft control (slow) and does a reasonable amount of damage when slotted with SOs. It is not something I would pick up immediately as it can generate a hell of a lot of agro, and God knows that is some thing that we need less of. I would (and have) respecd into it towards the mid game (after the imps) and found it very useful. Whist mobs are slowly trying to leg it, the imps are pounding them, all in all very satisfying.

Hey welcome back .
So back to my original question how is your DM/EA doing ?? I hit lvl 32 this weekend, slotting can be tricky with this rascal. Also there are so many decent powers. When he is running well he is cooking on gas. But when it goes wrong, he goes down is a spectacular blaze of glory. -
