Quote:Concur. I have Targeting Drone, 1.41x global Accuracy from sets, and at least 30% Accuracy enhancement in each power. That's way, way more than I honestly will ever need, but it might be fun if I ever have to fight someone with Elude. So Nerve isn't an option.Sets that don't have aim/bu generaly compensate for that by somehow buffing acc or to-hit. Take devices' targeting drone for example.
I had originally planned my level 50 build to take advantage of Cardiac, but I tried Spiritual first instead, since I wasn't capped out on Recharge either. While I didn't have endurance problems before the Alpha slot, I was actually bottoming out after Spiritual because I was firing so bloody quickly. So I went back to Cardiac and things work correctly now.
I could probably rebuild for Endurance and use Spiritual, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make. Besides, Cardiac Core Boost gives Range +20%, which I don't care to slot for but is a welcome bonus. -
Quote:Aha. Sorry, I'm ninja like that.I was replying to Catministrator who claimed to have heard my post in a distinguished voice. There aren't very few people who'd do that after having read some more of my posts I presume. I just forewent a direct quote cause I didn't anticipate anyone posting in between.

Quote:Don't be fooled. You see that wine glass? The man is obviously a villain. You know, I don't want to inflict that kind of surprise on folk.. but when Eisregen worded it that way.. and seeing his avatar... I just couldn't help but imagine it in the most gentlemanly voice I could conjure up; and now it won't go away.
On a more serious note, I think the level of openness ought to be based on the character and driven by the RP. Take Eribelle; she's an alien, and so to a certain degree talking about the different physiology is to be expected, although it's not central to the character. But if you have a shy character who's otherwise human, it may not come up at all. While your RP partners wouldn't know about the differences, the character would, and it would drive her actions correspondingly. If you have a brassy, bold character whose extra attachments mattered for a (non-sexual) turning point in her life, then it might get mentioned in the natural course of the bio.
Context is gonna matter. If you really do want it to be a non-central, non-sexualized aspect of the character, you need to treat it as such; only mention if it's relevant in some way. -
Of course there's something wrong with that picture. Where's the glorious AOE destruction?
That is the very definition of a target-rich environment.
I do think Trapdoor probably should be reset after a death, rather than continuing to spawn bifurcations. Once he's gotten several out, it really is difficult for a single player to control the situation, which means either you need to call in buddies or else reset the mission. -

Quote:At this point, I'm pretty sure you're overthinking it. Otherwise we need to find a new term for the little wrinkly alien turds currently called monkeys. As for 'Intersex' itself... It's back to my original question about the term, then. Would it really be the correct one? It's a real-world medical term, and I'd be applying it to what is - so far as I know - a completely unrealistic concept. Deformed/unformed genetalia? Certainly. Fully-functioning male anatomy on what is, barring the lack of female genitals, otherwise a woman? Fairly certain not.

Sounds like you're just going to have to go with intersexed and like it, Cat.
I'd say man up, but, well. -
Stone has always been a bit lopsided. The original idea was that Granite was supposed to be a tradeoff. Sure, it's awesome, but you wouldn't want to be in it constantly. But due to buffers and Teleport, the tradeoff has mostly been negated, and because of the straightforward mechanics of 99% of the game to date, the speed issue really hasn't been something to worry about; you just stand there and trade blows with the AV or whatever.
So now we're getting TFs that involve moving battles. Apex has one, Tin Mage sort of has one, and it's not unreasonable to figure we'll get more like that. Trapdoor is your training session for those fights. It's pretty forgiving, but it's supposed to introduce you to the idea of trading blows for a while, then running away to accomplish something else, then coming back to the boss.
In a very real sense, you need to be able to solo Ramiel's arc to be properly prepared for the content it's gating. -

The alpha slot is pretty much designed to fill gaps that you have in your build. If you spend a monkeybuttload of money on IOs, either for set bonuses or frankenslotting, to fill in those gaps, the Alpha's not going to do a whole lot for you no matter what you pick.

Cat!
It ain't much, but it's what I've got right now.
My video card experienced a bit of a glitch and produced a wonderful dye job. -

"And one and two and STRETCH and two!"

Clearly there's a niche for a new supervillain to emerge: Lord Fuzzywhiskers.

Quote:That would do it.Somewhere before that last mission we lost a member and went down to 7 (scrapper, I think); at Rommy we lost another (Storm/Elec) due to wife aggro. That left my Ill/TA, a Plant Dom, an ice tank, a brute (underlevel though, I think), and I think a blaster and another defender. We might have done it with 7, but after we dropped to 6 things just fell apart.
I used to have a lot of trouble with the ITF a year or two ago. Since I returned to the game, I've facerolled every ITF I've been on...except one. Where we had 7 people. We had to pull out a lot of tricks like two Vengeances in a row just to have the firepower to overcome his regen. We succeeded, but it was significantly harder than the ITFs where we had a full 8 people. -

Actually they wouldn't. When the game calculates combat formulae, it would use 60 in your spot instead of 50, but YOU would still be level 50. Level 50 minions would still be white, 54 would still be purple. You'd just be able to trash them like you were 60.

Quote:I guarantee you, 100%, with absolute certainty, will put money on the line, that Holtz and Honoree are meant to be pulled. It is still definitely soloable, although given what the devs did to prevent trapdoor from being pulled, I wonder if they'll do the same for the honoree/holtz at some point. *That* would be annoying, but as it stands I don't think there's really any overall problem with the difficulty level.
See, Trapdoor is standing in the middle of a giant unique room. It's clearly a set piece meant for a moving battle where you have to run around playing hide and seek with bifurcations. He's meant to be fought there.
But Holtz and Honoree? They're standing in this teeny room surrounded by an unfair number of Rikti. This teeny room is just beyond a very large, nearly empty room that seems to have no purpose except to house a few meager ambushes.
These aren't random maps; they were designed this way. There is an implication that is very nearly shouted at you in the H/H map that You Are To Use The Big Room. Add to this the fact that it's totally possible to pull one of the EBs without alerting any other enemy in the room. The only sane conclusion I can draw is that you're expected to pull H and H out away from the portals where you can properly fight them without being swarmed. -
Quote:Which is why you lure the EBs out one at a time. See, they're not linked to each other nor are they linked to any of the Rikti. Pack a ranged attack of some kind, be it primary, secondary, pool, or temp, and pull one EB. At most only a few Rikti will come with. My Blaster sniped each EB from max distance and they came running to me on their own, where they met a faceful of Trip Mines and fire. Yes, if you don't have a defense set you'll probably want to load up on purples and oranges, but that's what they're there for.Honestly, I personally think the honoree encounter is by far the more difficult one. A lot of characters just don't have the mitigation to deal with 2 EBs (especially when one of them seems to be completely immune to control) and a ridiculous number of replenishing rikti all at the same time. My tank was fine, but I didn't have nearly as easy of a time with the other two.
That all said, I completely agree that Holtz and Honoree are by far the more difficult fight. Even so, I'm pretty confident the entire story arc can be soloed by someone with a good understanding of their abilities and how to best use them in an unusual situation. -
Quote:FWIW, players can teleport while immobilized too. But if a player doesn't know that, they certainly might complain. The only problem I see here is that if you immobilize the AV, the gimmick is implausible or shut down, and if he can teleport while immobilized, then people complain about cheating AVs.
To add to the Trapdoor anecdotes, last night I ran Ramiel's arc on my Blaster. Trapdoor was, again, ridiculously simple, just as on my Brute. Attack attack attack, bifurcate, fly around tab-targeting, there he is, blow him up, go back to attacking Trapdoor, repeat once before he drops.
I don't know, I guess he could be tough on a Controller? Maybe? Possibly a Defender without good debuffs? Someone mentioned Stone Tanks: you DO realize they have, like, 8 other powers in their powerset, right? That Granite Armor's slowness is supposed to be a tradeoff? That it's not necessarily supposed to be on ALL the time? -
BB one-shots Sappers before the fight has begun.
Nuff said. -
The doppleganger team in the new Posi TF is brilliant about this. That's a genuinely tough but winnable encounter.

Quote:I've been staying away from Inferno for many of the reasons given in this thread, but I got Inferno properly slotted after a level 50 respec, and I couldn't help but use it every time it came up on last night's farming run. Run in, NUUUUUKE, and let the others clean up the bosses. And I still think that Inferno is the king of nearly all moves. Click....everything crashes and burns
I love that huge fireball effect.
