Quote:Well hai thar Talen.Looking at it on Peacebringers and Warshades, it looks like it's pretty stunning. Particularly when you have all those long-recharging powers. I picked it up on my DP/En blaster, where it looks like you can do tricks like Build-Up + BO + Build-Up (it stacks, I checked), or Conserve Power+BU+Hail+BO+Hail. And so on.
Yeah blaster nuke tricks could be pretty fun especially for my Ice/Em. Aim+BU+CP+Ice Storm+Blizzard+a blue inspi+BO then Aim+BU+Ice Storm+Blizzard+a blue inspi should destroy. Man I need to dust that guy off real soon. -
Good to see you back. Last time I saw you, you were so sick of the game it was pathetic. I need to level me an emp to 50 someday. I have a fire/emp troller at 22 but that's my extent of empathy. One day I'll perhaps I'll be awesome like that....

I really don't play on protector anymore these days but I don't mind sharing recipe's I know. I've always watched my grandmother cook for the whole family while I was growing up and that's where I learned so I've never really learned how to cook small meals. That said this spaghetti recipe can feed 4 adults and have some left over so you could always scale it down to fit the amount.
2lbs 80/20 ground beef
1- 29oz can and 1- 15oz can of tomato sauce
1- 6oz can of tomato paste
1/2 of a medium sized onion, finely chopped
1/4 of a medium sized bell pepper
1tbs hot sauce
3tbs white vinegar
1- 16oz pack of spaghetti noodles
1- 16oz loaf of ciabatta bread
Provolone cheese brick(only way I by cheese)
In a pot add the ground beef and cook until browned. After beef is done drain off grease then add the sauce, paste, onion, bell pepper, hot sauce and vinegar. After mixing well, simmer till onion and bell pepper is soft or for best results 40 minutes stiring occasionally. While the sauce is coming together take the loaf of bread and square the edges, cut loaf into slices(the ends are good for crutons or for soup so it's best to save these) and spread half of them on a baking sheet. Take the provolone and cut slices to put on the bread then take the other half of the bread slices and put on the cheese to make mini cheese sandwiches.
Bake the bread in the oven until the cheese melts and bread is slightly brown. When the sauce is almost done boil the noodles till done, plate the noodles and sauce on a serving dish surrounded by the cheese bread and garnish with shaved provolone. -

Force Bolt is a PITA but it's rare to see anyone play force field in pvp these days. To get up to that level of protection just for that one attack would most likely do more bad than good for your build when you could be using those slots for better bonuses. -
Quote:41 is the go to number for pvp. Force Bolt can get up to 48 but odds are you won't be see much of that in pvp.In PvP, I think the "magic number" is 42 due to diminishing returns (without it, some attacks can go higher than that).
To the OP: I'd just slot one or two -kb IO's and call it a day. 4-8 kb protection will protect you from most of the things you'll encounter. -
Anyone else decided to hop on the rocket board while under devolution? Here's what happens....
-
Burnout is awesome. I love to use it to instantly recharge a heal, tier 9, debuff. If I can, I'll be fitting this power into most of my toons builds.
-
Slotting recharge and some end mod into static field helps alot. Open with that and run in with conductive aura running(slotted with acc and end mod) will drain everything fairly quickly will neuter whole spawns quick enough to help reduce the chances of you getting mezzed. I still use that tactic when I run my elec/cold when I mal down. With plenty of global recharge I can have 3 patches out at once. Pick out the mezzers and take them out first.
I'm going to look at /time pretty hard when I get home and see how it stacks against /cold. -
Get out of my head...
I made a grav/time controller the other day with an almost identical costume. The only things I did differently was no wings, glowing eyes, chin plate thingy(I used the vines pattern instead and made it black) and used blue instead of gold. -
Ok you have almost convinced me to reroll my grav/time to an elec/time. I really enjoy the utility that is elec/ but for some reason grav/ just screams to be paired with /time to me. I really need to do research on /time but ironically I just haven't had the time to look up the numbers on it.
-
Quote:Check out the link in my sig to my Elec/Cold thread. I need to update the thread but I've taken down all the GM's in the game barring Kronos Titan and the Arachnos Flyer and have solo'd several TF's. I leverage softcapped defense to smashing/lethal/ranged and keep the target on me while I debuff the target and let the gremlins add to the dps. My current build can down a GM in 9-10 minutes and an AV in 3-4.Big game you say? That sounds good to me... basically, everything thats been said about. Lots of control/mitigation and very little dmg. Kind of like Earth I hear. Are there some strategies to maximize what little dps is coming out of the toon? Or, how do you go about this "big game" hunting?
I'm working on a grav/time atm so I can get try to get some experience using time. -
Quote:Depends on what you want to do. I don't have much experience with /Time yet(I'm working on it though) but I do know how to hunt big game with Elec/.I'd like to bump this one. Does anyone have any kind of a finished product Elec Controller they can sahre a build on? I'm finding Elec to be fairly unique, at least compared to the other primaries I have any experience with ( Ill and Fire) and I'd love some advice on slotting and play style. Not trying to hyjack the post, just hoping for a little input for the later levels.

Quote:I could get behind this.I like the revamp, I just wish they left the old contacts/missions and simply added the new ones. They could have just required that new players go thru the new contacts on their first character, then let players have a choice of going thru the new contact or the origin contacts on their other characters.
It just feels off to me. -
I hate the new tutorial too. It looks nice and I can't say I don't like the feel of it but the way that the objectives are laid out makes it feel way to dumbed down. In contrast the overwhelming detail of the ruined city is quite visually appealing. I honestly hate the voice acting to the point that I just ended up turning down the volume so I couldn't hear it. After all these years of not having any voice actors now having them kinda ruins the fun for me.
As for the giant shivan, I don't think we even need to fight the thing. I mean we are brand new superheroes that have very limited powers, we shouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell against that thing. It would have been more epic if sister and babs would have been fighting it instead. Also the fight with the little shivans and then the giant one feels off. I don't know if it's supposed to happen or not but if you zone in after the little shivans are downed and the big one is coming up you don't get to tp away with the others even if you help push it back. Instead you have to wait until it goes away then you have to fight the little shivans and then the big one again.
On a side note, does anyone else besides me not like the atlas park revamp? -
I bought it but only as an extra mode of transportation. Since the introduction of ninja run only two characters I have out of 40 or so have a travel power. There are so many temp travel powers that actually picking one from a power pool is a waste of a power pick, barring concept of course. I have several concept toons but I never try to fit in a travel power unless there isn't anything else I want. My biggest reason to go ahead and pick the board up is so that I don't even have to worry about using up a temp when I can use this or my GvE jumpjet or the steampunk jumpjet.

Ok I did some testing with my Claws/Elec on this mish and I did not trigger MARTy. I had it set on +1/X8/Bosses and went from lvl22 to 28 with no problems. Also when I did this I used hasten and the empowerment recharge buff.

1st - Rerolling my BS/Inv scrapper to a BS/EA scrapper.
2nd - Elec/Poison controller
3RD - Something /Time. Perhaps Fire/Time corr or Grav/Time troller -
Quote:I have some old build videos in my sig of me taking down av/pylons with mace mastery. I need to make some using earth mastery but I've honesly been lazy doing it....Well, I'd be interested in seeing a video of all this working. It's very different from my own style and it's alway nice to see new ways of doing things.
I'd love watching different playstyles myself since it makes me want to try doing things differently. -
Quote:Aid Self isn't really needed IMO but if you are against using any inspis ever then it could be useful(I limit myself to only greens if I do use any inspis). In all of my solo antics I really only had to use EE for when an AV/GM gets lucky and hits me through my defense. If you are really worried about them hitting you, you could always drop provoke and pick up hover and stay ranged against melee oriented AV's and stay in melee for ranged oriented ones. I always just use EE as a heal instead of thinking more hp since an AV can still two shot you with all that hp anyway. When I suggested going rebirth I was refering to the +regen one since you could always PFF and regen pretty quickly. It might work, but the only way to know is to try it. EE (plus accolades) puts you at the HP cap and Aid Self keeps you there. This is really important when fighting AVs. It and the defense are what let you take the hits from AVs. Rebirth will also put you at the HP cap, but your total HP will slowly drop during the duration of the power, meaning you're no longer at the cap.
Will this mean the difference between success and failure? They only way to know is to try.
Provoke could really be skipped altogether TBH since you can maintain aggro just by attacking. The only up side I like about a taunt is that it keeps GM's that like to run from debuffs on you but since you really won't have much in the debuff department they shouldn't run very much to begin with. -
I might be able to get on sunday Crazy. Just either send me a tell to @Boomie or a pm here. I don't have many red side toons but that's ok, I can always run with my Elec/Cold either side.

Hmm I first played city during issue 4 when I played on a friends account during the PTQ for MTG. I picked up my own account at villain launch and have since...
* moved from Georgia to SC due to my job closing and moving to china.
* quit MTG professionally due to the closest card shop is 100 miles away and the nearest PTQ location is nearly 200 miles away.
* made Triumph my home for years where I met some awesome people.
* introduced City to a couple who ended up convincing me to make toons on Virtue and I've been there ever since.
* watched the same couple get married, which I was the best man for, just for them to break up two years later.
* had my home broke into and lost basically everything.
* moved 7 times.
* bought a new truck.
* met a crazy woman who I fell in love with.
* as a mechanic in the poultry industry for 6 years, I've had a hand in the demise of 20,880,000 turkeys and 313,200,000 chickens.
* adopted an awesome cat which was named Tobi.
* leveled 18 toons to 50
* solo'd all gm's to date except for kronos titan(I WILL take him down soon.... hopefully) and the flyer on my Elec/Cold.
* had my first child, my daughter Emily, in july. -
Quick everyone make sure to 5 slot brawl with hecatombs if you haven't already and put it on auto.

Quote:Ok I tried to keep it as close as I could to your version. How does this build look? Instead of the heal from EE you could get rebirth and be just as good.I haven't tried alternate builds for soloing AVs. It's possible they'd work. Using an incarnate pet that had -Regen (I think Longbow and one of the robots have it) would also speed things up. The polar pets I'm using only have -Defense, which doesn't add much for me in this situation.
