LOL yes Brandy was the dogs name. It's a shame though, brandy the liquor, would be awesome after 26 years. He did buy me a 20ga. shotgun that day too so when I was old enough I could learn to hunt.
-
That's the first time I've heard of the eye thing. I had a pug for 14 years and the only problem she had was the breathing. My grandpa bought brandy for me when I was born, I still miss her. She's the only reason why I tolerate dogs.

I like to call transference a temporary buff meaning that it helps you refill end and that's it. I think I'm spoiled on heat loss TBH since it refills end plus it gives +end recovery.
I know you want kin/ for the +dmg but are you stuck on the primary? You could always make it a cold/elec and go dark mastery for soul drain so you'll have end drain, -regen, -res and some extra AoE from sleet. If you put enough +rech in the build like I did with my elec/cold then you can get perma benumb, heat loss and soul drain. -
Fun tip: It'd take 10 Tranfusions in 20sec to equal a -regen buff like benumb.
-
With some reworking of your build and taking advantage of reactive an other procs you may be able to take down a GM but you won't know until you try. I'd try to get softcapped defense without using a purple since you may end up with an empty tray before you down a gm. Having a solid attack chain is a must to down anything that regens quickly. I'd say drop the entire concealment pool for the fighting pool, drop SJ for Tactics and I personally would drop acrobatics for something else. These are just a few changes I can think of off the top of my head.
-
TBH I don't see this build as being able to solo gm's. I can't look at the build since I'm at work but I do know a few things stand out. What do you plan on your attack chain being since you only have lightning bolt and thunder strike slotted for dmg? Sure you're going to have alot of +dmg but what about taking on a gm's regen? The build looks more like a team build to me instead of a solo one but without the team buffs. I don't see a reason in having IR and SJ so you could always drop SJ and put that stealth proc in sprint.
I hope this post doesn't sound to harsh it's just that these things stood out to me when I glanced over the powers/slotting. I am currently enjoying my dark/elec defender and I do love /elec's AoE goodness. -
Quote:This.Honestly.. I do not get the Incarnate hate. You are complaining that because I choose to use a power that you do not wish to use I'm detracting from your gameplay?? Please!! Even on a 8 man ITF I only see a handful of judgements firing off every now and then. The only place I see chained Judgements is IN a Trial. I see more Lore pets than Judgements, and they aren't a big deal, they don't detract from my job as whatever AT I am on.
Does a Destiny make a Empathy or Pain Dom useless? HELL no. No Destiny can buff a character like those sets, no Barrier can replace Thermal or Sonic shields, no Judgement can keep up a sustained attack chain of a Fire Blaster or a Brute at 3/4s Fury.
Blaming Incarnates because you are getting less enjoyment from the game seems a bit... petty. IS the Incarnate path right now a major grind and poorly designed? Absolutely! (The Devs didn't drop the ball.. they tripped over it, fell down a flight of stairs and broke their necks) But don't blame other players for your lack of enjoyment- it's not their fault and it's not like they are all sending tells saying "ok.. lets piss X off.. we'll all use our judgements at once hehe". -
Quote:This is the reason why me and the wife will be going the premium route. This whole incarnate debacle has really turned me off to the game, I do not want to grind, I do not want judgement, I do not want pets, or w/e else it is you get.
I do not have time to grind, grind, grind to get how many ever shards/merits/points to get powers that I do not want in the first place. Casual players do not have a place in this game with this kind of content.
The focus seems to be get to 50 on a toon and grind the **** out of the tf's...BORING....if I wanted a farmer I would make a ss/fire broot.
I do realize some people might like this but really the "end game" the devs have came up with is just a joke. There is little imagination to farming the same tf's over and over to get lackluster abilities.
While others might like to be spoon fed this drivel I do not, I am so very disappointed in the direction this game has taken.
PS You already have a ss/fire brute..... -
Quote:No they're not OP. That perma mez protection is great at first but then gets weaker in a hurry. During its weakest portion it will protect you from what one hold? If you are up against multiple mez type enemies that won't do you much good. All AT's technically have an option for mez protection, it's called breakfrees. While corruptors and defenders don't get a mez protection power from an APP controllers and dominators do.Destiny powers are not OP? So..getting a perma mez protection on a corr, that has NO other way to access mez protection (to more than hold/immob/conf) is not over powered? If it was 'normal' powered, why wouldn't corrs have the option for that?
Quote:Or how about giving any toon basically infinite recovery, or a stack or regen?
In the trails, Destiny powers are not OP..most leagues need them to do well. In normal content? They are very very powerful. Maybe not quite OP, but hardly as un-gamechanging as you make out. -
Quote:I feel quite the opposite. I also don't agree that Celidya is assuming either. If you play on +0 things will die very quickly to one judgement but as you raise the difficulty enemies will start living through it. If you have multiple people using judgement then it won't matter if it's +0 or +4 but they do have a decent cooldown period, granted it's slightly faster if they went spiritual, and thus can't be spammed constantly. I really enjoy that judgement can speed up mish/tf times but not everyone has them.Yeah, I am. Not the trials, though those have gotten dull. Not the "Trial vs Solo" content or the rather boring Tyrant and the Well storyline.
What I mean is the seeming lack of being able to play once I hit the high 40s unless I solo. Yes, I can team, and try to. I may even be able to use a power once in a while. But most of the time it feels like "OK, judgement. Now you use judgement. Now judgement #3. Oh, another judgement. Hey, the first one's recharged. Yo, judgement. OK, judgement. LOLJudgement." No "Hey, this can be tricky if you get that other group up top" - nope, just Judgement, Judgement, Judgement.
Meanwhile I'm trying to self-buff, or use them to buff the team, or, oh, I don't know, USE one of my powers before everything's dead. It's rare for me to have a non-Incarnate team (or a team with just one, say.)
And it's not just judgement. Why bring a buffer along when someone can just fire off one of their Destiny powers?
And yeah, I can (and used to) ask for people not to - which led on rare occasion to someone not, but usually someone dropping team or making snide remarks. Well, y'know, I'm sorry but I actually do want to use *my* character's powers on my own arcs, not sit back and watch as other people nuke spawns one after the other. If that's all I wanted, I'd find a PL farm and sit at the door. Or, for another example, I do want to actually feel like I'm actually contributing more than another body on an ITF.
We know the devs can disable stuff in non-Incarnate arcs. Why weren't these brought down to a somewhat lower-but-still-powerful level outside of Incarnate trials/arcs? We'd still be "more powerful," but to a more reasonable level in non-Incarnate content.
Really, these are just making the high-end game less fun for me. I've started parking characters in the 40s, or just soloing and ignoreing strike/task forces. And that's frustrating.
I kind of hope, with people going premium, that the situation gets better, but right now it's just really, really annoying.
/venting off.
As far as destiny goes, sure those powers are perma but they aren't OP'd, not by a long shot. Even with destiny buffs it doesn't decrease the need for buffers because that's how the powers were designed. Sure they start off strong but they quickly deteriorate and near the end of the buff they're really weak. They only time that they can get crazy is when you have a cordinated group of people who use them at specific times otherwise people just fire them off when they see it come up. When I play my elec/cold controller on the itrials I still use my shields since that will add to everyones survivability and they stack with whatever other buffs that are flying around.
I wouldn't mind seeing a setting that disabled incarnate powers in tf's since that'd be a nice extra challenge setting. -
Quote:I'd personally drop the numina heal from health and put the slot into TT and put the trap of the hunter proc in it for more damage OR you could put the purple hold proc into it for more control. You won't notice the 2hp a sec difference especially since twilight grasp is up so often.<pst... spamming Nightfall and Tentacles does 5x the damage of Gloom v. the full league spawns my toon is almost exclusively running across... but if this makes you feel any better...

Quote:Gah Scrapyard is very annoying to fight.heh, I have taken out all the GM's but Lusca and Deathsurge solo on my Fire/Rad corr.
The hardest one being Scrapyard who likes to run like a little school girl.
I have taken out all gm's(including Lusca) except Kronos Class Titan and the Arachnos Flyer on my Elec/Cold controller without lore pets. Now that I think about it I haven't tried downing a monster. I WILL have to try this sometime soon. -
Man I enjoyed reading Muad's posts and I thought it was odd that I haven't seen anything from him for awhile. RIP to another CoX family member we've lost.

I'm at work so I can't look at the numbers but a few things stuck out. So forgive me if I can't tell exactly how accurate your powers are. I can look at it more when I get home.
First is I'd fit the achilles' heel -res proc in earthquake or something that has more chances to proc so it'll fire often. Second thing is no accuracy in your debuff powers, Melt Armor and Heat Exhaustion are powers you want to hit everytime. In mids go to config then effects and math and set the tohit to 38 so you'll see how accurate your attacks will be against an AV but be sure to disable the gaussian's proc first. Since -def powers are 85% resisted by AV's, +acc and tohit are the way to go. I'd shoot for about 200% acc with the base tohit at 75 so you'll have 90-100% with base tohit at 38. Third is you won't be able to spam melt armor those damage procs are largely wasted. -
Quote:That was priceless.I remember one of the times in Warburg when I was gettin nukes and got jumped by acouple "pvpers" lol, dude is smack talkin the whole time, so I figured why not and start smack talkin back.
Well, I guess I was too good or hit a nerve cuz he followed me out of zone and petitioned me...end result according to the gm we both were in the wrong. Too funny big tuffy fiteclubber and you say one thing and then it's run to mama..lol.
You do remember who I am talkin about right Boomie?
Truth. This is why I also remind anyone who says that they hate all the trash talking coming from enemies, it's automatically disabled. If they have the sense to enable it in the first place then they can also disable it too. -
Congrats

Quote:I learned some of this the hard way playing my WS but I just kinda got bored of him then the dust settled and he was basically forgotten. I will keep this in mind though if I pick up any of the other forms.Generally, yes. Unlike Warsahdes, PBs don't rely on buffs from enemies whatsoever. They're entirely self-contained.
If anything, I'd tell a new PB to forget their expectations. Khelds were originally set to unlock at 50. IMO there was a good reason for that. Playing a Kheld effectively requires knowledge that you only gain from playing several different ATs. They've got both ranged and melee damage as well as a little control (More true for Warshades than PBs) and if you're not used to dealing with all of those aspects you won't be a good Kheld.
Also, knowing when to use each form is key. Nova is the master of AoEs, Dwarf excels at tanking and there's nothing better for ST damage than human. As you play you'll develop an instinctive understanding of which form is optimal depending on team composition and the situation at hand. That's the single most important aspect of playing a Kheldian. If you don't know when to switch forms you're gonna fail hard. Be mindful of the situation and remember that you should be switching as a fight demands. If you hang in one form the entire time you're doing it wrong.
I still wish that the epic AT's were lvl50 locked TBH but oh well. I am glad that I leveled pretty much every AT to 50, at least once, but a kheld(also MM's) before I wanted to level one.
Quote:Don't have time to add much, but one thing I want to emphasize is being careful of how you spend your slots. Even without getting into tri-forming with a human only build, you want to make sure you don't spread yourself too thin. Make sure you have solid attacks lined up, and even end use and resists, before slotting your heals too heavily. Yes, you want the heals slotted, but they're only so much help if you can't damage well or have no endurance. -
Hey guys I know it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything in the dom section but I've finally dusted off on of my old doms and have been taking it through the incarnate trials. I've got everything but my destiny because I can't figure out what to take. The dom is perma hasten so Ageless and Clarion so I don't think those wouldn't help. I'm enjoying playing it like a blaster of old, drop them before they drop you, so not having any defense/resistance, I'm not sure about Barrier since the big buff doesn't last long. I'm thinking about Rebirth(+regen) would be best since I already have hoarfrost but I'm not sold on it just yet.
So is there any reason for me to take any of the other destiny buffs besides rebirth? -
Hmm can you perma melt armor? I've hardly use my therm for pve so I've never really looked into giving the set alot of +rech. If you can then I believe you could most likely could solo AV's with it. You could buff up and heal rocky and let him tank while you debuff. You could go mace mastery for more -res and the tarantula pet. Since rocky will be tanking the tarantula will probably live.
-
Quote:Mine is about the same level as yours. I've been inspired to dust off my old fire/fire/ice dom(even though I am still disapointed by the dom changes way back when) and take him through the incarnate content so I haven't played my Elec/Time much recently. I will pick him back up right after I finish getting all of my doms tier 4's. I both do and don't feel like I was getting better dps.Alright... so I'm about to ding LvL 39. How's the toon coming for you Boomie? I have to say, I feel like it's an absolute beast (and I've obviously been underestimating Elec). Still struggle with the lack of dps, but he locks down mobs with ease and makes them, basically, useless with the end drain and soft control. I was looking at your builds for AV/GM soloing. Did you feel like you got more dps out of the the Arachnos pets before switching to Stone? I would think the obvious answer is yes, but I'm sure you can explain the benefits of changing EPPs.
Good points of mace: extra -res from poisonous ray and having the tarantula for more dps. Bad points of mace: sadly the -res doesn't stack with itself so -18% and an ok long animating attack from poisonous ray and that dang tarantula is on such a long recharge timer. Having just summoned the pet and have it instantly die is just a waste of time and end. Good points of earth: earth's embrace is a great heal and gives +hp and has a decent recharge time and seismic smash is just crazy good damage with containment and is up fairly quick. Bad points of earth: if you take hover like I have with my trollers recently then hurl boulder and fissure are wasted powers.
