Quote:I've done something similar with Pff <.<I envision someone with Phase Shift being the sacrificial cow. He decloaks and draws attention, and suddenly there's a cascade of Assassin Strikes! It would be hilarious to see.
Sadly, though, AS doesn't bring a stalker out of hide unless it connects. With a enemy phased it never connects therefore no coming out of hide. You could have a stalker say turn off a layer or two of stealth to make it look less inconspicous and stand in the middle of a sizeable darkly colored caltrop patch. When all the stalkers start to swarm and hop on the patch they'll get pulled out of hide and be slowed unless they turn on SS. Bonus points for doing this in the pools near atlas to prevent them from running away since they can't jump. -
lol
OTOH, if all the said stalkers weren't running both stealth and a stealth IO to softcap stealth then it'd be a different ball game altogether with a few secondaries. /Dark, /Nin, /SR and /Wp all have +perception. Couple that with Tactics and a +perception proc and those secondaries will be able to see other stalkers running around. If all the stalkers were at stealth cap then you'd have to be within 10ft to see the stalkers when you're at perception cap.
Most likely it'd be a waiting game till you get someone to be the bait and draw out the rest while you have everyone else waiting to pounce on any of them that come out of hide. -
-
That'd be quite interesting if everyone were stalkers in a zone. The hard part will be to bring one out of hide and It would only be hard if they were working together. The easier part is to take one down once you flush it out. An Earth/Ta troller would make every single one of the opposing stalkers angry since they'd never be able to get near it without being brought out of stealth. I'd say a blaster + Earth/Ta would be able to wipe out alot of stalkers that day.

If you do be wary of a pvp "legend" in rv. He's a purpled BS/Regen, enjoys fiteclub and will only 1vs1 ppl if inspis are disabled......

I'll what I can come up with when I get home. As long as I can keep the same amount hp or more and keep my +Acc bonuses I'll be happy. Since I'm dropping Temp invuln I'll just have to keep a few oranges on me now to make up for the lack of resists.
-
Need more Fiteclub police on lolvirtue. It's been a challenge to keep the peace. There have been a few to lend a hand but not enough to keep it down.
-
All day today Warmth was rooting me everytime I used it on my Mind/Therm troller. I don't know what happened but it's very annoying.
-
I could pick up MC but wouldn't TD do just as good? I fought against a Arch/MM blaster in the last pvp event on virtue and she used scare+snipe to put a few ppl down. So yeah I agree that it is a underrated power.
-
Quote:Ok after a few 1vs1's and a few days of RV, I figured I'd swap out power mastery for ice. The only problem is I will most likely only use hiber and frozen armor. So the question is what should I pick up in the two free slots? Should I pick up Ice Blast even though it does less damage than power blast and use it for set bonuses and an occasional attack? If not IB then what should I pick in its place and what should I pick up in that free slot? I was thinking forge just for teams but I'm not really sure.Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.601

Also CP was already swapped out for TK. -
That's all you need rite?
One day I'll get around to lvl'ing something on freedom. It'll prolly have to wait till after I finish io/acco'ing my mind/therm. -
Barrier, do you have anything on lolvirtue?
-
Quote:Just as long as you know that the soft reset I referenced is just in 1vs1's in the arena. If you try to hit rest in the middle of a zone with more than one person in it you're dead. I don't see a problem with hiber really. It's hard to use it and stay alive in zones unless you follow it up with phase since it gives the opposing faction plenty of time to swarm around you, waiting for you to come out. In a 1vs1 a person hitting hiber may be a soft reset but unless they have greens they should be dead before the no phase timer has worn off.True. So dumb. "Let's stop pvp'ing for 30 seconds and start over, OK?" Sounds like a ton of fun. Hahahhahaha.
Try explaining the way Hibernate works to someone who likes pvp games but doesn't play CoX and let me know what they think.
Only folks who have grown attached to the current system and can't "think outside the box" could possibly think Hibernate is good for pvp.
I might be willing for a change to hiber if they drop the no phase off of it and possibly up the rech on it. -
I'm lacking one purp set and 2 pvp sets before his IO's are finished and I'm only missing two acco's before he has them all. It's been a fun little pet project I must say.
-
Quote:1. Mind/Therm trollerI have the same experiences in Atlas Park and on the forums also. Two questions. What is your new pvp toon? When did you start pvping less?
2. I started pvp'ing less about a couple of weeks after I13. I gave it a shot, I really did, but sadly it's not what it used to be. -
Quote:It's kinda strange really. It happens no matter where you go ingame and even the forums. I suppose since there are only 4 pvp zones the concentration of idiots that talk trash is greater than in most pve zones since the population is spread thinner. On a similar note, I see the same amount of /bc trash talking in Atlas when I'm at the market as I do when I'm in RV.Fair, will do. Until after this thread, I didn't realize that the main reason people stay away from pvp is the trash-talking environment, though it is a minority.
The biggest deterrent from pvp IMO is how completely opposite things are from pve. Also it doesn't help how the NPC's in zones are still OP'd. There really aren't any rewards save pvp io's and not many want to pvp enough to run across them. That being said, I do pvp but no where as much as I used to. I have been participating more as of late but that's due to a new pvp toon that I really enjoy playing. -
Quote:This. Why would you ever use Hibernate or Phase to wait out a damage burst? That's what moving around and breaking line of sight is for. Hibernate and Phase are for when you actually need to use them. Using Hibernate or Phase "offensively" in the instances you continually describe should never have to happen for a competent player.
You already know for the most part that the blaster coming at you is going to hit Aim/BU before he gets to you. So instead of wasting phase/hiber you should just stay away and count out 10sec then turn around and go on the offensive. -
Now that I'd love to see. Did he rage afterwards? If so I'd probably have died laughing.
-
I do that too. Forcing them to hiber is just a soft reset IMO. It gives both parties time to start over again unless you HE the other guy right before he hibers.
-
That's fine, at least you can do the first two tf's. After those two are done you just may be high enough for at least the next one since you still gain xp while exemplared. If all else fails I so happen to have a spines/dark over here....
I don't really know what day's to do these but the weekends are the best for me. If enough show interest and they're only available during the week then I can make try to fit it in during the week. Any way it goes I just want the badges and the accolade. -
Just had to comment on a few of these Con.
Quote:The only toon I do pvp with that has no perception is my Mind/Therm. Even without perception I don't have to worry much about a stalker, at least on lolvirtue anyway. His only escape power is phase btw. I was thinking of switching to ice mastery to pick up hiber but I'm not sure yet since primal has been good to me so far.And lol @ the stealth cap, who even pvps any more without +perception. The only at that is helping and stalkers and they are pretty easy to escape with without having hiber.
Quote:If you think hiber is bad you may as well join the fite club circle jerks and rofl when the smarter player uses the powers he has available to him to survive.
Quote:I have never once seen a key hibernate swing a match, ever. And I do mean ever. If you think this power makes this big a difference you are way underestimating all the other powers in the game.
After that was over I 1vs1'd the corr and it turned out 3-0 mind/therm with an extra kill right after the time ran out. -
I want to get Task Force Commander sometime soon on my Mind/Thermal controller and I need all the tf's save Manticore. I was wondering if I could recruit some people and we can knock them out. I work 3rd shift from 10pm-7am est so anytime between is good for me. I'd prefer to start them at 6pm est but I can deal with it after 7am est too. So anyone else need the badges to and mind lending a hand?
