Sadly GM's resist -slow by what 87% IIRC and they have a mag100 mez protection to all which includes sleeps and immobilizes unlike AV's who have mag50 protection and can be slept/immobilized.

For Electric there are 3 powers that can skippable. First being Jolting Chain since it's only good for pre SO levels and then after that it's not worth the time to use it. When you have some end mod and acc slotted into Conductive Aura and even some in Static Field(along with rech) every spawn you come across is end drained so knocking them down doesn't really do much. Just open with Static Field and get near the group or even in melee and let Conductive Aura sap with its 25' radius. Another power in Electric I'd skip if the build is to tight is Chain Fences. Since it does little dmg and costs a good bit of end I'd skip it if I had to but it's good to keep in conjunction with Synaptic Overload. I'd also give be willing to skip Paralyzing Blast only due to the long recharge and lack of apparent visuals indicating that the enemies are held.
As for Thermal goes it depends if you are going to solo alot or not. Since you said the build is tight I'd skip the rez, Cauterize and maybe Thaw if you can't afford the room. The shields and Forge will help the gremlins live longer. -
Quote:I know the feeling. Mine started to get bad during 8th grade and it took 10 years of switching meds regularly and seeing different doctors to get it regulated. I still have bills from that period of lab work/ER visits I'm working on paying off. Thankfully now I only get a couple a year now and old triggers don't affect me like they used to. These past 3 years have been a whole lot better than any of the previous.Sounds like you suffer from prolonged migraines like I do. I was actually taken out of school in grade 12 because of how severe my migraines had become. I must have went through 40 different prescriptions that year trying to find something that would actually break the cycle, or dull the pain, and I cannot tell you how many times I had to go to ER to get a shot and rehydrated because the migraine was so intense that I couldn't eat or drink.
I don't have them like I did, but I still get them on a regular basis, thankfully I can work through them most of the time now.
Also Nomme speaks truth. -
I haven't posted all the pics in my thread yet but my Elec/Cold Controller has taken down all GM's on hero side except for Kraken(because he's never out when I get on) and Death Surge and Ghost villain side. I'd also like to point out that all of them barring Lusca was done without temps/inspis.
To the OP: I don't think your Bots/Dark can solo Ghost yet but you should be able to with the right power selections and IO's at 50. -
I've been meaning to make something on the EU servers but I just haven't gotten around to it. I have seen a few EU players on Virtue though.

Quote:I'll second all this.Range will only affect the first blast, from you to the first enemy. The damage is pretty pants too. It's the same as cages without containment.
Acc and maybe a few procs is probably the way to go. The chance for hold from the ranged set isn't bad in it.
It's a good power for knocking guys down but that's it. At higher levels you really don't even need to use the power since you can keep every spawn you come across end drained or even confused if you have enough recharge so knocking them down doesn't even matter. IMO I consider it a novelty power and it's the only power in Elec/ I would ever skip. Now I do like it for those low levels where Static Field isn't up. -
I know I said that since I did upgrades, plus running ultra mode, that powers don't affect me anymore but apparently Murphy's Law kicked in this weekend. Had a person on a Lady Grey I ran using barrier and whatever color they used caused discomfort. If they spammed it it would have caused a migrane.

I've never attempted more than 3 lvl50 AV's at once. The biggest problem will getting that big sack of hp end drained so he won't eat my gremlins constantly that or being bored to death trying to take down all that health by myself. I shall think on and do a trial run of the khan to see if I can do it.
I wouldn't mind rolling/transfering something that way but I don't even know what I'd make/bring. -
I mostly play on Virtue. Hmm now for some reason I want to do a duo Khan or I wonder if it can be done solo....

Back when /Elec first got ported to doms, I made a Fire/Elec/Mu and took him to 50 in 3 weeks. I IO'd him to the gills and liked to refer to whatever came in the radius of hot feet as dead. I once tanked an ITF with it too. I have a Fire/Fire/Mace I was building as an AV/GM/TF soloer but scrapped the build. I plan on trying to play doms again but I know I'll never like them as much as I used to. Since then I suppose that controllers have become my favorite AT. My newest pet project is a duo Fire/Emp team.

Quote:Thanks. I've seen a few mention Elec/Psi since it can be a pretty good sapper but I am still hesitant to play doms again. I know that they do more damage now than they used to but I loved the playstyle of doms before the changes. I've shelved several lvl50 doms and a few I was leveling and I haven't played them since.really nice job, im personally working on an elec/psi dom which is being quite fun (my normal awesome soloer toon is ill/cold/ice troller, can solo lusca in about half an hour with him lol)
Jeez soloing Lusca in 30min is way better than my time of 3 hours. I couldn't keep it aggro'd to me constantly so my pets kept getting killed. I suppose with clockwork lore pets I could speed that time up by alot but that would be cheating. -

Quote:I don't think I've ever been on a team with you but I like these rules and my Elec/Cold controller would love to take an alpha strike or whatever you want to throw at him.The first rule of DKTF is: You do not talk about DKTF.
The second rule of DKTF is: At all times, you must be having fun.
Third rule: If you think you can handle it, you're free to go for it.
Fourth rule: If you thought you could handle it but couldn't, get back up or hosp out.
Fifth rule: Any build, any budget, no exclusions.
The sixth and final rule of DKTF: If this is your first DKTF, you have to take an alpha strike.
Most of the rules are actually there to protect the team from the leader (me). They make sure I don't become overbearing and micromanage the team. The second rule is a sort of "catch all." Rule four is only there to prevent a scrapperlocker from turning into a leech because he's dead and waiting for someone to come save his hind end. Two of those rules are there for Fight Club references. Rule six is there to instill people with confidence. -
Quote:Just so there is no confusion, Heat Loss is a two part power that is autohit and not at the same time. When you activate Heat Loss it summons a psuedo pet at you that gives the autohit PbAoE +end, +recov buff. It also summons a psuedo pet at a targeted foe that uses a debuff power that requires a tohit check with a 20' radius. If the debuff hits then it summons yet another psuedo pet that is just like the autohit one for each target that it hits. It's kind of strange that the buff psuedo pets have a 15' radius while the debuff gets a 20' radius and not to mention the buff has a cap of 255 targets while the debuff can only affect 10.If you hit one target and are close enough to receive the buff you will struggle to run out of end no matter what you do (aside from some debuffers) and no matter how you are slotted. Just the caster buff is solid recovery but one could still bottom it out if you go full out

Ohh Doyler_ if you take the spiritual alpha you can free up two slots from hasten and put them somewhere else.

Quote:Take a look at my Elec/Cold thread in my sig. It has videos of me soloing AV's with Mace but since I've switched to Earth I haven't made any video's(I'll have to fix that soon). You may get a few cold slotting ideas from my variations. All of the above and more. Solo, team force multiplication, AV destruction both solo and teamed etc. Though primarily leaning towards hard targets be it solo or teamed.
Yea I was a little torn about Frostworks myself, but it seems like it could help teammates without great builds/accolades and maybe Phantasm? But yea I do like that idea a lot more...
Yea the 2nd Zepyhr was a hold over from a build I did earlier in which I already had 2 so a Karma wasn't really worth it, but yea I'll decide if I need a 2nd eventually, but one should be plenty for now.
Yea Ice looks REALLY nice as far as the attack chain and hiber goes, but my thinking was this. Poisonous won't fill out my chain, but is still damage and should add to my DPS atleast with more -res, disruptor is an AoE at least albeit not great, and with all my pets taunting and -res and it being perma the tarantula should be pretty freaking solid. Though my reasoning might be a bit off.
Where can I drop the enzymes though? Just go Enzyme + 7.5 in a few of the toggles? And alright, I'll do that once I move some slots around. Will do, figured Infrig needed more slots but so many new builds I see have it just one slotted. -
Quote:I see what you did there.Yeah totally in the wrong...sounds like he's to busy trying to micro-manage the team and not havin enough fun.
Probably for the best...he'll probably grow up and think he's gods gift to CoH and start his own sg and get some zealot followers...wait this sounds familiar...wonder if he just ported over from WoW...
Yeah this game isn't geared like that other game. Especially at that low level there just isn't a reason to follow the tank with very little dmg mitigation. -
I agree with Local, it'd be better if we knew what you were aiming for on this build. I also agree that Frostworks is unimpressive and not needed. Since it's a pretty expensive build I'd recommend some Enzyme HO's to boost the defense and move all those other slots to get other bonuses. If it is for AV's I say drop Assault and get Tactics. Also you need more recharge in Sleet so you can spam it often(Sleet on my Elec/Cold is down to 15sec so I spam it basically every spawn). An Acc in infrigidate wouldn't hurt either.
As far as Ice vs Mace goes I'd recommend Mace, for AV's, only because of the very nice -res in Poisionous Ray and the extra dmg from the Tarantula. In any other case I'd say go Ice or even Earth but YMMV. -

Bah it's fine it'll just get locked if you necro it. It is something we need to get addressed though.

Like I said in this thread I'd love to have a zone just for that. A few arena maps allows for 280 people in one instance so it could be implimented. It'd be just as good if everyone didn't have to be in the same zone to start trials/tfs.
