  1. Pets on defensive plus follow mode for advanced options.

The more pets you have the stronger the division of damage will be when you are hit with an attack.

Basically each pet can be seen as worth 10% resistance damage, except the resistance is their health splitting the intiated damage.

So if you lose 1 pet it's like losing 10% resistance.
  2. The funny thing, is that Pain Domination was not and is not meant to handle stronger enemies.

Poison debuffs basically every aspect of the enemy while Pain Domination provides support in the form of a single debuff.

One is meant to weaken, the other is meant to provide support.

No matter how you analyze it or break it down that's how it works. And it is very simple and easy to reach a conclusion that you can't compare the two sets in the ways you want to.

They both preform very different roles while, if I may use a VERY lax term, "slightly" dipping into the other's role from time to time.

Bottom line is: Poison lets you neuter an enemy (and by neuter I mean severely crippling a single target or several foes), and Pain Domination lets you provide utility support through buffs and heals.

If you wanna debuff stuff while having a small amount of mitigation through healing then do it.

If you wanna provide healing and buffing support with slight debuffs go pain.
  3. Anything with melee works well with /Poison.

    Ninjas, Zombies, etc.

    /Unsigned...

Pros of giving them more health: They have more health.

Cons of removing BG mode: Using strategy on which pets to use as meatshield and which ones to send out is now moot, making the MM nothing into a Attack My target mode aggressive the entire time. Once you do this the commands would be damn near superfluous, cause all you want them to do is attack your target the entire time.

So you'd alternate between Attack my target and Go To...no reason to go into defensive or passive. Sounds pretty lame to me.

MM's can already tank just like brutes and tanks, including holding aggro with Power Pool taunts. Granted they don't get the -range but they can still do the exact same job just as efficiently.

Plus with that much HP I'm sure they'd have to rework lots of game mechanics as in Healing and bufff sets for MM's. A Pain Dom with 3200HP? I mean....broken much?

    I feel broken already.

I always lose my zombie 'Moe' in battles, and have to run around the rest of the mish with just 'Larry' and Curly. No biggie...I usually don't care and I don't usually resummon Moe until Larry or Curly bites it too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    How awkwardly similar.

The enemies always kill either Akon or Lou Albano first.

    MM ST DPS?

Ninjas/Poison or Ninjas/Traps can attain wicked DPS on an AV so long as you take Challenge from the Presence Pool and get a self heal.

Hell I think Ninjas/Poison can solo GMs, or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly...

    Slax's wish list

    Battle Axe for Scrappers please

    Cleave + Crits =
  8. Bookkeeper_Jay

    More GMs please!

I still demand a GM that takes changing tactics and cooperation to defeat (and no, I do not mean the Hamidon, or Lusca, whom I still think is pretty simple).

    I can dream, right?
  9. You can't compare a massively debuffing set to a minor buffing and heavy healing set.

Poison stems from its ability to weaken the hell out of an enemy, while Pain Domination has the ability to strengthen its allies with minor buffs, while also throwing in a couple great self buffs for the most part.

Pain Domination cannot handle stronger enemies like Poison can, and thus- in most situations- Poison will outpreform Pain Domination, while in more moderate to minor situations with reasonable enemies, can out-preform Poison.

Poison for powerful enemies and AV soloing/PvP

Pain Domination for your other moderate PvE and PvP needs.

    P.S.

Pain Domination can handle larger numbers of reasonable enemies. Poison was (as has been discussed) probably created with PvP in mind.

    Death to Disco!

As much as I like rock...

Reliving the era of afros, disco balls, Jimmy Hendrix, and groovy dancing is just too much to pass up.

I have 6 relatives on a surprise visit - they have been here for 6 days and will leave in 6 more. I actually WANT to go to work an dget away from THEM.

Now I remember why I have a den and not a guest room.

And this is why I put a mini fridge in the garage.

Having 8-11 relatives or more visit is hectic, but having them stay.....I fear for my life.

    No love for TA?

    [ QUOTE ]
I was thinking about rolling a thugs/TA. Oil slick seems like it would have decent synergy with the arsonist. The only problem with looking at mids is the lack of a heal but that can really be fixed with aid other, at least in theory. Any thoughts?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Go big or go home with this set.

Healing is nice, but if you can utilize the debuffs in the set to their best abilities you won't have to worry about healing. Focus on synergy between pets and TA, and then you'll be good to go.

Besides, the Tier 1 pets die so easily it's pathetic, and with the lack of supporting buffs in the set Aid Other seems to lack luster and usefulness.

Hay any one spot an ego here???

EDIT: Opps forgot to add that my brute can take on mobs of a 8 team alone with no problem so i guess "Contankers" are not the only AT that can do that

When they can take on the Hamidon I'll be satisfied.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Never did the old hamidon raids, did you? Ahh for the good old days when illusionists were THE absoluetley essential component of any raid. Alas, the wheal turns, the developers redesigned the raid, including the hamidon's unique decoy-harming damage, and now we're relegated to begging a place on a ranged assault team with the rest of the plebs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Missed the fact I meant the current Hamidon.

    Monday is like Champagne

It hits the brain like cocaine
  15. Off topic, but that pic reminds me of a screenshot I took in SWG years ago.

    Hmmm, nostalgia....

Anyways, look sinteresting. I suppose it's time to test out my old Gladiator mix
  16. Battle Drones are fodder for stronger enemies.

Yes you will have to resummon one or two, but that's life, eh?

You even so much as look at Tier 1 pets and they fall over, bah...

Each pet should also have Gang War.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. I am totally going to make a video where it is like that. I just need to head to a busy server and get 15 people to use gang-war in one place, and record it. I wonder if it would be possible with enough thugs MMs to rival a zombie invasion in numbers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uhm... Picture this: 8 thug masterminds, all using with their 6 pets, all using gang war at the same time, in an arachnos map. I've seen it. And I swear I heard my old graphics card cry when it happened.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well try 12 Thug MMs using Gang War in a hami raid with about 10 other MMs while people were spamming auras and attacks.

I know the map size matters, but it was hell in my book.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not just map size, but arachnos maps have long had a (justifiable) reputation for being laggy. It's not so bad now, but man was it horrid before. First time I got on a 8 mastermind team in an arachnos map we would order an attack, and no one could do anything due to lag till everything was dead (or we were).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Silly me, I forgot Arachnos maps induced the most lag of any indoor mission map.

    Although I never understood why...

Could it have been the graphical design or the subtle cramped nature of the maps themselves?
  18. Originally the Mastermind AT was supposed to have Very High health, so much in fact that it was above a tanker's health, but that was in CoV beta.

Yet of course with so much health there was no BG mode, but many years later we still have BG mode instead of the original idea for tons of health, so why try to reinstate it?

  21. Ok, my own opinion (which, I was hoping, would be ignored) was that there should be no real exp rewards.

The actual question I was trying to ask was Reduced Rewards and Creativity, or more Rewards and Restrictions, and which of those you would rather have.

    I apologize if I wasn't clear...
  22. Personally I'd like it if the weaker pets were given a health boost on account that they get slaughtered pretty easily.
