Quote:I agree with Flip here. I think that badge content should be able to be accomplished with a full team that is dedicated to the task, maybe that is geared to have at least 1 of each element (buff, debuff, damage, etc), but not so specified to say that anyone that's not psi dmg or debuff is useless.I think maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. What I was trying to say was that I disagreed that we needed the content in a state which required specialized teams to complete, and that I agree with the change so that non-optimized teams can complete now.
I cited MoApex and MoTin as examples of "the hardest content in the game" being completed with non-optimized teams. I didn't mean to infer that you needed specialized teams to complete the iTrials. -
Now I just need to find a couple of hours (when everyone else is on) to jump on and get these 4 badges.
-
If I can jump on and get it first try (each time), I have no complaints :-)

It figures, it's the one who isn't in the news for drugs and being an overall ******-bag, and he dies from a heart attack induced car crash.

Quote:Only 4 failed attempts for me, but that's not because I've had any successes....I just don't have the time to get on and try. This whole system is starting to bore me.....The BAF is more fun and better for rewards, but Lambda is the only one I have left to get badges on. On top of that, I have all the new redside badges to get, except that those all take at least a tf-worth of time to run. I'm starting to get antsy waiting for SW:TOR to come out....For what it's worth, I personally haven't had this issue now in a couple more attempts. I'll defer to high server lag that run where it didn't recharge in the 15 timer. I, like others noted here, cast the Lore pet as soon as the Maurader cutscene ends. That is still before the 20 minute timer starts so the pet should (all things being equal) be recharged at 5 minutes for his Unstoppable phase.
It's worked all but that one time. Now, I still haven't completed a single Mo run yet though, but that's a different story. 9 failed attempts now. I'm starting to think I'm the problem... -
Quote:I was thinking this as well....the seers don't seem to be up in time, so I figure its best to use them when they'll be the most use, during his unstop. As to the drop seers at beginning... the powers don't recharge in time they should so drop em at unstoppable...
or you literally have to drop em 2-3min before timer for defeat starts which makes dropping em almost not worth it... (as you can sometimes blow 2-3min clearing adds to fully focus on marauder)
-
Do seers (and other psychic attacks) hit through his unstop?

Quote:Nothing for you to see here....move along, move along....im sooo glad i got the mo lambda badge before they fixed it, the requirements for the badges now are just completely retarded and absolutely need to be changed
i really feel bad for anyone who has to get it the "intended" way
:-P -
Quote:I know, I was super excited, up until that last minute and a half.Yup, I was in that run. I ran off and cried in a corner the rest of the night on that one. At 2 minutes left and 2% to go, I was like "hot damn, finally". Then at 1 minute and still 2% left I said "waitaminute...".
Yeah, I was wondering that too. I dropped my seers once he showed up, and they didn't come back until after he went down. Does the 15 min rech not start until after they go away? -
I guess we need to step it up once he's dropped unstop next time, take him down before he can hit it again. These are just crappy badge requirements.

Quote:That's what we've been doing, however the fight 2 nights ago (I believe flipside was on my league) it looked like we were going to get it. He had literally 2 points left when our time ran out. It was ridiculous too, because I think we did less damage in the last 2 minutes than the rest of the fight, save for his unstop. Dang shame it was.I would suggest at a certain point just using the pacification grenades so that you can at least complete the trial and get a reward. Usually I use the grenades with like 2-5 mins left (he goes down so much faster when he's pacified heh). So if you know you're not going to make it with 2-5 mins left, grenade him
My 2 influence.
And again.....just for 1 of the badges. When I finally do complete it, I'll only be 1/3 of the way there. -
I was thinking that they could have them ordered like character slots are ordered; in the character select screen, the player chooses the character order, which is stored on the local file.
-
I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I was unable to find it, so here's my suggestion:
Start tracking the server that is chosen at the server select screen, so that we can see the servers in order of most-selected. That way, when I decide to jump on my one toon from Protector, I don't have to look around and find Justice all over again. This is mildly annoying for me, and I can imagine it being much more annoying to someone who plays on separate servers often. -
You seem to think that raising the lvl cap will be a quick, end-all-be-all fix to the game, and that rainbows will shine out of everyone's orifice once that happens. In all reality, they will need to spend many many months (more time than they have on Incarnates) in order to implement this, with 10 lvl's worth of xp, enemies, content, lore, badges, zones, indoor maps, outdoor maps, enhancements, costumes, pvp, and anything else you can think of just to keep most people happy. And you can lolpvp all you want, the fact of the matter is that there is an actual pvp playerbase in this game, several of them I met and played with in my badger's run for the 400 rep badge (yes, I did it the non-afk way). And after a few months, all the lvls/badges/content would have already been run by at least everyone's main toon, leaving everyone griping for more. With the Incarnate system, they are able to dole it out piece by piece, with even more to come that goes beyond what's already been announced. And while we may not get to the actual level of 60 (with only a few giving shifts, and 2/3 of that so far only being usable incarnate-wise), we still get a large amount of extremely useful attacks, buffs, debuffs, etc, that make us far more powerful than a non-incarnate.

Quote:They did, they're called Praetorian badges :-PWhen I read threads like this, I sometimes wish the devs would create 1000 new badges, where one of the requirements is not having a current badge.
Vampire Lover - If you have Slayer, you can't get this.
Dog's Best Friend - If you have Silver Bullet, this badge is locked out.
Lost in Space - If you have Finder, you can't get this badge.
Ignorance is Bliss - If you have Keeper of the Secret, this badge is unattainable. -
Quote:My point here is that many of the players won't settle for an increase in lvl without an increase in IO cap. And the devs wouldn't really want to do that either, since it would pretty much leave everyone at their max already once they reached that lvl. So within a couple of months, everyone would already have finished all the new content. Those don't age out.
The only people that will need to replace their enhances are people with SO only builds and that will cost them 20 million inf ? 30 million even if the devs triple the cost of the new level 60 sos. IOs can be left dropping at max level of 50 so that is a non issue.
In order to keep us interested after upping the lvl cap, they would have to keep doing so, or keep adding new bonuses to the lvls (enhancements), or both. With the Incarnate system, they're able to do this periodically, keeping the interest up. -
Quote:My point is that the incarnate system is a substitute for an increased lvl cap. I'm not saying that it's the same thing (new powers aren't the same as new lvls), but it's relatively the same idea. As to the lvl 53 content, that will be useful for when they introduce all the new trials that I mentioned (you can't expect to get everything at once, without a huge paid-for update). And for the extremely useful Incarnate powers, they can be used anytime you're not exemp'd.My post was targeted at the original question of "Why not just more levels?" and therefore you need to take what I said in my reply about not really getting levels (Alpha slot aside.) Do you really have a level 53 character outside of the Trials? The answer is no, you have a level 51. The Devs are doing us a disservice of giving us content where you really are not gaining anything substantial. Where outside of a trial does you newly minted 53 come into play? Nowhere.

Quote:One thing that you have to remember here is that they are planning on introducing new Incarnate Trials quite often, at least once per issue is what I've heard, and they even have 1 set to come out before i21 (we're on i20 now, right?) even comes out. The way I see it is that they meant for everyone to have a plethora of trials to choose from when they hit lvl 50, its just that there are so many who are already there, they are getting stuck in this "hurry up and wait" pattern. Look at all the people on here who post about their 12-50 lvl 50 toons who they don't think they'll ever "Incarnate." After a few months, they will see that their main toons have everything they can have and/or need, and that they have more than enough time to add another toon or two to that list of Incarnates. It's the exact same thing as getting to lvl 50. You focus on one or a few, and get them there, or you focus on a bunch, and only a couple ever reach that lvl. (Or for those with more time on their hands, you run them over and over and grind all week/month long until you have everything you want, and go back to alting/farming/trolling/badging/auction-house-manipulating, whatever you like to do to pass your time.)I have to admit as a seven year vet the "Trials" seem to be a bit of a sticking point for me. The Devs in the past have tried to make farming such a non issue as to lower xp and other rewards in farming missions that some players quit the game. Now, they are not only encouraging it, they are creating content for that express purpose. I hate the trials. Yes, I know I can still "level up" during regular game play, but in all honesty the only "level" I get is for the Alpha slot, the other two "levels" are for trials only.
The Trial system is a nice system in and of itself. But the farming a couple of or even a few or several of the same mission over and over and on and on and on and on is just boring. Where is the challenge? I love the TF/SF of the week concept, but seriously, it is time to give tons more content and a few new zones for level 50s. -
You seem to overlook the fact that all these IOs only go to lvl 50. Since the majority (I'm estimating here) of players use sets and set bonuses, at least for their mains, that would mean that they would have to at the very least create new lvl 50-60 IOs for each set that goes that far, otherwise create all new IOs for lvl 50-60. Which would mean that all of those lvl 50 IOs that everyone has spent billions of infl to create and slot would now become useless, and the 10 per respec that people would be able to strip down would sell for much much less than they do now. So basically, the many people who waited until lvl 50 to outfit their toons with lvl 50 purps, pvp IOs, and whatever else top-lvl IOs they have, would have to spend all that time and infl all over again in order to optimize their toons. They could lvl to 60 (which would last a month or two), and keep what they have, but it wouldn't even get out of beta without HUGE complaints if they didn't up the IOs.
-
Yes, it is a grind, however, it doesn't cause you to lose all the enhancements that you have worked possibly hundreds if hours to get. And upgrading enhancements isn't as simple as you make it sound. If they're going to increase the lvl cap, they have to make new, higher-lvl enhancements. Which turn those hundreds-of-millions or even billion-infl purps and pvp IOs into ones worth maybe 10-mil inf. I think that would cause more people to leave then anything.

Quote:That may be, but I'm not about to waste my money transferring one of my good toons to Freedom. I'll more likely create a newb and drop him in randomly for the badge, and never go back. There might be a specific reason for awarding an "account wide" badge to all players that take part in the Freedom event. What other account wide badge dealt with going to another server? One that all of the badgers have been begging for for years?
My bags are packed and I'm just waiting on my "Passport" to arrive -
The worst thing about these badges is that the longer you wait, the more difficult its going to be to get. Every few days, another group of people get one, dropping the number of people who need (and usually have the desire to work toward) that particular badge drops by as many as 16. And when the new trials come out, it'll be even harder.
