  1. I don't really care for the look or the layout. The extra clicks to go down the layers to the content I want aren't welcome.

But the software is robust and has lots of features that people want. I'm here for the company, not the ease of use.

    Necro/Storm???

    Hey Supernaut.

I'm pretty happy with my lv42 Necro/Storm so far. It's a bit more effective than my Ninja/Dark and requires a little less minion management and a little more restraint in the use of your powers. That's true of Storm in general, but worth noting. If you really want to let loose with all your stuff, you can create some serious chaos that will annoy a team pretty quickly.

Against a single tough target, it's very, very strong. The Lich's debuffs combined with your own make for a pretty safe fight if you can take advantage of Hurricane, Snow Storm, and Freezing Rain. Even without Hurricane, using bodyguard will keep you pretty safe.

I'd say overall the damage is less than with my Ninja/ or Bots/ MM's, mostly due to the fact that I slot Lich for debuffs over damage.

Here's a quick, non-final basic build. I'm still playing around with slotting quite a bit, so there might be some wonky stuff in here.

    Enjoy!

  3. Wow! Lots of great times, Nord. I'd love to see how Hess can be run in such a short time.
  4. Great job on the THREE LGTF teams, all!

Forming up for the ship raids in the next 15 minutes or so.
  5. I'd absolutely be up for it as long as I could work it into my schedule. Sounds fun.
  6. Oops. Neglected to say I'd be in for both, Bridger. Thanks.
  7. I'm in! Not sure what I'll bring, but most likely a scrapper/night widow unless we specifically need a tank or rad.
  8. The Gravitational Anchor - Immobilize can easily be swapped for the Gravitational Anchor Chance for Hold proc with only minor drops in effectiveness as an Immob and a huge bump in overall power. It hits really consistently and makes a big impact.
  9. How's this look for a moderately priced, not-quite perma PA build?

[u]Click this DataLink to open the build![u]

It's just about perma AM/Hasten and a few seconds short on PA. A gap in my ability to click Hasten and PA on time would probably be a bigger issue than the lack of +Rech.

I'm not sure of current prices on Coercive Persuasion, Basilisks, and the Enzyme HO's, but last I looked those are the only real big $ IO's in here.

    Thanks!
  10. Great stuff, Local. I have an Ill/Rad at 42 that I've been ignoring for a while now. I think part of my blase feelings toward the toon come from a lack of planning on the build and just slotting as I go. This will be a big help to keep things within a plan that is attainable and finite.

I was really happy with your advice on my Fire/Rad and I'm looking forward to trying out some of your choices on my Ill/Rad too.

A nicely done guide. It's very, very complete and could be seen as a perfect guide for someone completely new to the AT, not only the powersets.

  14. Some guy had a tall, skinny yellow toon with a military tarbucket hat named Number 2 Pencil. That gave me a good chuckle.
  15. Great job! Great characters too.
  16. I was really hoping that the TF might be a takeover of the volcano in Striga and the 5th reclaiming the giant robot. Having that thing slowly animate as you fight your way up to the top and the 200' tall [censored] flying up and out of the volcano would be so awesome. Just put glowies up the scaffolding to force the players to creep up it instead of ignoring the groups and slow down that last mission, then give me a GM-style fight to take down a huge nazi mecha. YES PLEASE!

The Power of Black Scorpion Click power given to Masterminds *is* broken. A fix is in the pipeline; not sure when it will reach live.

    How it broke:
Basically, just before the deadline, I completely rebuilt the power to do something different from what it had done before. The previous version had always been problematic and it just wasn't working out, so I replaced it with something more reliable at the 11th hour. Unfortunately, there was an error in my testing process and I failed to detect that, unless you had Dev Tools enabled, the power simply wouldn't actually trigger on Reichsman. So, you can use the power on him all day...and the attributes simply don't process.

This was caught just before launch, and I fixed it, but the fix had not gotten through the production process in time.

I hope the fix is to give us the Dev Tools. First thing I'd do is fix teh ch4t I3uG.

  18. Yup. And my Widow got chewed up when I tried to get past those lasers.
  19. Yeah, I'm mostly in line with Tal's opinion on this one except for the 'story in the villain side is far superior to the hero' part. I don't know that either is particularly good, to be frank.

One of those wipes could be attributed to my Widow and poor aggro management. It worked much better once we used the hallway to control the flow of the ambushes a bit. But honestly, it's kinda hard to imagine how we could have avoided the other wipe. I guess if you took a slow and safe MoSTF-type mentality toward it and completely ignore pace.

I never really like the whole betrayal thread running through the high-level villain play. I can see why it is there. Afterall, loyalty is a heroic trait. But having to fight Ghost Widow in her own patron arc? And betraying the entire cadre in this mission by leading them into that machine? I'd rather they gave you a choice to remain loyal to one of them if you so decide. Even in this one, a 'Pick your Ally' would be cool.

Thanks for the run, Tal. I was happy we completed it on my first attempt.

Well, there's your problem right there.
  21. Looking forward to trying it. It seems obvious that some of the buzz is the same chatter that we heard the first week of ITF. And LGTF. And STF. And RSF.
