Statesman's sense of humor even predates the Three Stooges. What do you expect?
  2. In the original movies humanity pretty much wiped itself out and the apes were able to pick up the pieces. They didn't do it to us; we did it to ourselves.

How willing would people be to share their apartment buildings with aliens, when they will likely have to have weird vats of glowing green good and toilets made of anti-matter or some such? How accepting would people be of calling "these things" equals and sharing our homes, our jobs and out hang-out spots with them? It's a good idea to consider those questions first before we brand them as bigots. After all, the "Earth is for humans!" billboards are still up throughout the city.

I don't think things should ever come down to a matter of accepting "aliens" into one's society. No-one should ever feel obligated to do this. Even the idea of a human global society is flawed in its inception, because different cultures are and will remain different, and they cannot expect the rest of the world to "convert" to their ways. Yet we manage to coexist just fine, for the most part. I see no particular need for the Rikti society to change so as to accommodate humans any more so than I see a need for human society to change so as to accommodate them. The two societies should be perfectly capable of coexisting and cooperating without melding into one entity, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Are we talking real world or Paragon?

In the real world you have a very valid point.

In COX, you have mothers running up to PCs who happen to be bipedal tigers, robots, glowing squids, or demonspawn, and say, "I wish my children would grow up like you!"

Their vision is just fine with a caste system, where the converted Lost are the dregs that do what the Restructurists tell them to.
Its the Converted Lost who tell us that they are being treated as second class citizens by the Traditionalists. And one of the Converted Lost Restructurists has risen to the rank of Ambassador status (Kuhr'Rekt in Grandville.) And in Angus McQueen's arc one of the Lost you meet has later risen to command status in the Rikti after undergoing full conversion, so it does seem like the Restructurists are doing more than just using them as troops. (Besides, the Rikti Magus would HAVE to be Converted Lost as there is no magic left on Rikti Earth, right?)

The Traditionalists are wanting the Lost to undergo at least 30 years of training and education before giving them the rights of full Ritki citizenship.

I don't think it's ever been established Tradigtionalists aren't willing to use Lost as Cannon Fodder; they just won't give them Rikti citizenship right away even if they DO fight for the Rikti.
  5. So one of the things that strike me as being interesting about the Rikti is that the Traditionalists-- the "good" Rikti-- do not accept converted Lost as full Rikti without years of preparation. (That's why the Restructists have so many more formerly human converts than the Traditionalists.)

So does that mean one of their leaders should be Ar'chi Bnk'r?
  6. The Clockwork King would get some self respect and stop chasing after Penny every time she whistles in his direction.

After being killed by Rikti and impatient Lady Gray Task Forces a few times she might learn to appreciate him.
  7. I rented the first episode. It's an adaption of that Loki story of a few years back. Not bad but the limited animation isn't good enough to get me to purchase something I already have. 8-)

There is one line of dialogue Black Scorpion gets that I just love though:

That went okay, I guess. At least, you didn't betray anyone and then attack them after ratting them out to the arbiters or nothing. At least, not today.

The whole thing is very sad.
I wrote an AE Arc called "The Terra Cure" where you're involved in trying to come up with a cure for Terra. I enjoyed it because I used some of the bosses you encountered in earlier DE missions ... and gave them some special dialogue.
  10. I just found out the temp disguise power you get in Darrin Wade's arc keeps the demons from attacking you if you pick the wrong portal.
  11. If it's all technically possible, I'd be much happier about doing respecs if it worked like it does the first time you activate an alt build: one level at a time, power, enhancement slot, etc ...

Maybe it's just me, but I find that MUCH easier than the current method.

    Just tossing it out there.

That is the thing I would LOVE to happen. I have so many toons that would see a lot more love if I could just play them with my friends who are on different servers.
  13. And not sure what to take.

Mud pots doesnt seem all that useful.

I could take tremor or start another pool. Suggestions?
  14. I'm sure there have been other people who have been stymied at doing a TF due to a lack of interested parties ... it gets REALLY frustrating when you are only one person short! 8-(

Put a warning on it: YOU MAY FAIL IF YOUR TEAM IS LESS THAN X MEMBERS, but let us at least attempt it.

And if there's any superhero movie where the love interest actually adds to it, I think it's Superman. I believe Superman's relationship with Lois says a lot about who he is and his connection to humanity. It's no mistake that pretty much all the stories where Lois gets killed or Superman is otherwise without her that he becomes a ****** or villain.
Personally I hate those stories. There's no reason Superman can't love Lois deeply, be deeply affected by her death, and yet still NOT go insane when she dies.

Imagine the reaction there'd be if Wonder Woman went insane and evil every time she lost Steve Trevor ... (is he back in continuity as being datable now?)

Im on my phone right now, so I can't check powersets quickly.

Personally id build for defense and recharge, but again I don't have experience with elec/elec.
Grounded does give you KB protection ... but not when you are using Lightning Rod. That's why I got the Steadfast. Got tired of winding up on my keister when I was using my best attack.
  17. Hi, all.

My Elec/Elec Scrapper spends a lot of time in RWZ. As a consequence he's sitting on a (to me) rather large amount of influence. In fact, I don't think I can sell another high priced recipe without exceeding 1 billion.

To be honest, I'm really happy with him and his build. He can solo Rikti at Plus 1 Plus 8 with no real difficulty. In other game content, he's always been able to do what I wanted him to do at a level where I have fun with him.

I generally only use inventions that I get in drops ... it's one of my quirks. So other than basic IOs, the only thing he has special on his build is a Steadfast KB Protection IO.

He's currently sitting on 831 million. In his inventory he has 1 Apocalypse Dam/End/Recharge, 1 Armageddon Dam/End Reduction, 1 Ragnarok Dam, and 1 Ragnarok Dam/Recharge/Accuracy.

With that kind of cash, I'm thinking that maybe there's something I can do to make him even better than he is.

Here's the thing: I have NO idea what I should be aiming for!

Like I said, I like his build. Other than moving some slots around, I don't really want to change what he is.

So that's my question. What CAN I do to make him better? What can I make better on him without sacrificing any of his existing damage or damage resistance?
  18. Hey, all.

I realize there are going to be a multitude of opinions, but I was curious as to what people thought would be the Dom that is the most fun for TFs.

What Doms really thrive in groups?

My highest Dom is a Mind/Fire at 28. I have a level 26 Elec/Earth Dom. I enjoy them both, but I was wondering what people think are the best team oriented Doms? Especially for PUGs.
  19. Poison for Defenders and/or Corruptors.

    I have a DP/Poison or Poison/DP concept I'm dying to make!

Batman spent decades as a duly authorized representative of law enforcement in the comics. (Was in the Batman Encyclopedia Fleisher did in the 70s with the appropriate original comics text quoted.) Even in the 1970s and 80s, Batman and Robin were testifying in court. (And how much of an outlaw can he be now if the police are still using the Batsignal?)

As I think about it, the problem isn't Batman. It's Bruce Wayne. Back when he was just "millionaire Bruce Wayne" no one could expect that he'd have the money to fix Gotham's social injustices. Now that he's written as being richer than Bill Gates, and is spending billions of dollars on things like artificially intelligent satellites and beyond state of the line aircraft, the idea that he couldn't fund enough social programs to make a difference in Gotham tends to be harder to swallow.
  21. I originally planned to use double XP just to get my Warshade past 38 so I could finally see what Eclipse was like. (I built both my WS and PB in 2005 after I got my first 50. The PB was so much fun to me that I hit 50 on him within a few months. My WS stayed at 12 for probably 3 years. Then I got him to 32 so I could try the pets ... then he stayed at 35 for about two more 'cause I just had no fun on him AT ALL.)

So I wound up getting him past 41-- had to slot up Eclipse after all-- and wow!

Ran an ITF on him Saturday night with an EXCELLENT PUG ... completed ITF in 1:22 hours.

Now I am going to have to respec him, maybe buy him a KB protection IO or two, and in general see about playing the heck out of him. (Now I want to run a Statesman on him.)

Oh, and beat up Requiem in Unai's arc cause that's part of his background story ...

Oh what to do with him next? What to do with him next?
  22. Is there any reason that the temp jetpacks we get-- Mayhem, Safeguard, Grandville, Shadow Shard, Recipe-- have to be based on the same blah old Skyrader model?

I mean, we've got the Goldbricker model and jinglejet ... why can't they be used as well?

Okay, it's a small thing, but I thought I'd toss it out here.

    Respec Question

Going to be respeccing my level 35 Warshade to take advantage of inherent fitness.

Is it still worthwhile to slot end mods in the base forms of Nova and Dwarf?
  24. The obvious choice is you-- armed with a camera, of course-- chasing down Posi throughout some of the greatest events of the last 7 years-- Rikti Invasion, Rularuu Invasion, Halloween Event ... etc....

With "Paparazi" playing in the background.
