Quote:Cosplay? This isn't Cosplay! I actually AM a 6 foot tall blue furred rabbit! Let's see the GMs trying to get THAT costume out of me!Until recently, the Cosplay Policy (section 4.1 of the ToS) was at best a minor deterrent to play; people would ask, but you could just point out that it was completely unenforced, and they would ignore it. But today, the GMs have started enforcing this policy, and the fact is, it's a stupid policy, and I think it should be dropped entirely.
There are a number of flaws with the Cosplay Policy. First, cosplay can be expensive, and not everyone can afford good costumes. Secondly, this is particularly punitive for people who have a large number of alts, and you don't even want to think about alt-hopping to check for a particular enhancement; if you thought the 30 second logout timer was long, having to completely change before logging in is ridiculous.
Furthermore, the cosplay policy unfairly penalizes some character concepts more than others. "Guy in trenchcoat with two guns" is easy, "giant robotic exoskeleton" is... not easy. A lot of people have a lot of time and effort invested in characters that are very difficult to pull off, and at least one GM wasn't even letting people go to the tailor or a trainer to pick a new costume!
The fact is, I think a lot of us have been playing CoH in our normal clothes all along, and I think the game was plenty fun; I am not at all convinced that I needed extra help getting into the spirit of the game, and really, when it's implemented as pushy enforcement like this, it's mostly just intrusive. It doesn't create immersion, it just creates resentment.
Frankly, if the cosplay policy isn't dropped, I think a lot of people will stop playing CoH entirely. At the very least, I think GMs need to be a lot more forgiving of amateur-level costume efforts.
Also, I'm naked under my fur. -
Quote:Khorykins!!!! ^_^ Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! ^_^I have returned! If any of you know who I am....what the HELL man/manette, why are you still here!?
Does Golden Girl still rampage across the landscape, inexplicably managing to troll people by being too happy? Is that damn Blue Rabbit bounding about, or did economic problems in Portugal result in his being committed to a mental institution after eating all the rabbits to survive? I followed Chatarsis into Star Trek Online...I think he's still trapped there, unable to escape the soft, cloying allure of relentless Orion slave girls.
And most of all.....HOW THE HELL DO I GET THE MARKET AND REWARDS BUTTONS TO GO AWAY. I'M A VIP DAMMIT, I SHOULD BE LORD AND MASTER OF ALL I SURVEY.
*hugs*
Yes, still hopping around on Defiant. And yes, GG is still around too.
There are options in the menu to disable those two buttons.
Welcome back! -

Quote:Considering that in the last DXP weekend of all the servers listed only Defiant, Vigilance and Zukunft were at one blob instead of the two every other server was showing, I'd guess not long Dante.I see the business sense, I hear the cost cutting arguments and totally understand but I'm disappointed to see it's once again the EU players who get the shaft.
I wonder how long it will be before all EU accounts get closed because of cuts.
Not a good day for anyone, my sympathies to our loyal French and German companions.
This change will alienate the remaining players on the soon to be non localized servers to the point of not a single one of them remaining there. And I don't see any of the people who already have an established server switching to go play over there. To me, it comes out as an oblique shot to one's foot. But hey, I can see the business logic behind it: continue to waste resources for little or no revenue or cut your losses and consign dying servers to a quicker and less painful "death". Not an easy choice to make.
Bonne chance and viel Glück to my EU brethren. I figure it won't be long before something else happens to Defiant too... -
Does it need to? Vigilance is also in French, just happens to be the same word in English. Although, Future has a nice ring to it.

Quote:It isn't. My main hero has all the badges from red side despite being created and played blue until Rogue came out and Manticore never appeared for me.On yesterdays Ustream Aeon said that if you had run any villain content that the game recognizes that and reacts accordingly. So even if you're a Confirmed Hero, it seems you'll get attacked by Manticore. I'm curious to see if this is true.
And neither did my main villain. Manticore was a no show for both of them. -
So why not flashback through it? Isn't that hat Ouroboros is for?
-
Maybe they didn't say anything about Mantipants because you can kick his *** at the end, depending on what you are and the choices you make.
-
I sense there's something else in this. Tell us, how did that make you feel?
*grabs notepad and pencil*
Or pythons. Huge friggin' pythons who could swallow them whole, 3 at a time. -
No tail feathers? Oh, boo hoo. At least you have a head that actually makes you look like a bird. No one gives me a head.

I have nothing to contribute but I would like to show my support for a thread that is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Never so many have written about so little.

*giggles like a pre teen at all the innuendo*
Oh, it's not leaking, it's WAI. Dream Doctor's powersets are Staff Fighting/Illusion Control. And here's me wanting a Staff Fighting/Empathy toon ever since I4. Dagnabbit.
Also, I want to play with my shinny hard staff with a knob at the end. -
Did it once both sides. Don't intend to do it again.

Is it wrong I laughed?

Quote:Mind Control needs no pets for Mind Control creates pets from whatever it is being fought. That's what Confuse and Mass Confusion are for.Would it be possible for the mind controll set to have a pet similiar to penelopy yins?(even if its a weaker version)
I don't know about anyone else but that is the main reason why i don't play that set due to lack of pet.
In fact (speaking for myself) that would be a set that i WOULD actualy pay for!!!
So no. No to any pets being given to an awesome set which has no need for them.
Also, regarding your assessment of Terrify: you must be joking.
Please do not make ANY suggestions about a set you obviously have no idea about how it works. My main which has been being played close to 7 years now is a Mind/Empathy Controller. He does not need ANY changes to his Primary set. It's awesome as it is, thank you very much. -

It sounds like what Positron and Zwillinger were discussing last wednesday on the coffee talk, as suggested by Zombie Man (if memory serves).

With regards to the original question: nothing, no one likes a fence sitter. Pick a side already ya bum!

Oh I did... but I was expecting more love than just those two. That's not love that's a soft caress or a preliminary at best. I was expecting something that would work you hard, leave you breathless and then cuddle up afterwards.
Ah well. -
Whatever happened to the Dominator love that was supposed to be given in I22? I only saw Stalker love and lots of it.
Also, with Galaxy and Dark Astoria now being echoed, can't we have the Echoes of Faultline and Rikti Crash Site in Ouroboros too? -
