I did them by going there when no one was about, taking control of an heavy and having at the pill boxes like there's no tomorrow.
As for the heavy badges, best way for me was to take control of the one nearest my base and then SS/SJ/TP/Fly (pick yours) towards the other faction base and let the drones there kill me. Rinse and repeat 250 times. Also best done when no one is around unless you actually enjoy PvP. Which I don't. -

2008 is rather dead, though, I'll give you that.
As a rule of thumb, I consider anything that hasn't been stirred in over 3 months, old, dead and buried*. Other than that, I'd say it's fair game to have at it!
Also: I have nothing against fat heroes. The sight of all the chubbiness constricted by strained spandex, akin to two little piglets fighting inside a bread sack, would provide much needed guffaw opportunities.
Still think you should open a new thread though.
*make sure to check for breathing though... don't want THAT happening all over again. Bygones. -
