Quote:See if they can dodge wrenches. And then you've got the supers who have simply trained themselves to a level that lets them stand toe to toe with demons, robots, and all sorts of superpowered nasties. Can't really test for them (unless you tested them by seeing if they can dodge bullets, I suppose).

Quote:In what universe are you "forced" to bid blindly? There is no fee. You can keep bid creeping in 1 inf incriments if you were so inclined, until you found the right price. Lack of bid history just means you may have to bid a few times before you find the seller's asking price. My doomy predictions:
The inf price of current goods (except respec recipes) will go down as new phat lewt is introduced. The new phat lewt will sell in the billions as bidders are forced to bid blindly. Those blind bids will tie up inf, lowering the price of all other goods.
The inf price of respec recipes will continue to go up as there's a wave of build experimentation, one free respec will be insufficient to meet needs, and the $9.99 paid respec price is far too high to compete with inf farmers/sellers. -
Quote:Very much this. My funds are very much infinite for all intents and purposes. And yet I lack for things, because they are not available at any price.I honestly don't care what this does to prices red-side, for a simple fact of life - no amount of money can buy what isn't being sold.
I'll be glad when this is less so the case. -

Quote:Hey neat, I got quoted by Castle. This is a situation I cannot win with. I removed the prompt; people complained until I was told to put it back. Now it's back, a completely different set of people get to complain.
I'll just say I was much happier when MF worked like every other buff in the game and you just had to shut your stupid face and deal with the buff.
It's not a big graphic or sound, it's pretty modest. But whatever, don't waste any more precious Dev hours on this non issue.
Even though it did **** my dog. -
"Good Villains Never Die: Adjusted Leonard's location to make him slightly easier to get to."
Hooray! -
Mystic Fortune prompts ***** my dog!
Seriously annoyed at the prompt again though, foar reelz. -
"Mr. Tobay, what we need is a clear message to the community of the forums! This message should be read in every thread, stickied on every subsection, seen on every screen cap. This message must resound throughout the ENTIRE INTRAWEBZ! I want this community to realize that we stand on the edge of threadlock! I want every n00b, carebear, and G.I.R.L. to understand how close we are to flame war! I WANT EVERYONE to remember WHY THEY NEED US!"

Quote:What? No.Just under your hat? so, like a Michael Bolton sorta thing- bald on top, long flowing locks on the sides?
On topic, hats being a separate costume piece from hair is one of the very few things I liked about Champions Online's Character Creator. It's something I've always wanted to have here.
Just no hair at all and a fedora on my head. What's so hard to understand? -
Quote:In my mind, a villain has beaten the game when he earns the Archvillain badge. Is this game beatable? Have you beaten it? I know that there's no right answer, but I do want to hear what people say.
For me, beating the game is completing every story arc relevant to the "Main" story in the game.* As a villain, there's one main story: The Destined Ones. Once I've completed everything connected to that, I've beat the game and am, mentally, on "New Game +" mode when exploring the rest of the game.
Just occurred to me, as I only recently completed Operation: DESTINY. As I laid me down to sleep, I thought to myself two things: "FINALLY beat the dang game," and "FINALLY started the rest of the actual game".
Thoughts?
*I am a "Villain", so please keep that in mind. -
damnit Jim I'm a moderator, not a thread necromancer!

Quote:Maybe you came away with something that I didn't, but I got the impression that Protean's hidden contact and the letter writer were two seperate persons with seperate agendas.Wait wait wait... Protean, the in-game character, was working with the mysterious stranger who has been sending the Ouroboros letters and who directed him to Praetoria in the villain arc. Protean, the red name, says "Requiem sends his regards," and there is reason to believe Requiem might be the one sending the letters given the context of the letter in the Fall of the 5th Column Ouro TF, the only one that's actually the same for both sides.
Is this a subtle hint of the letter-sender's true nature, a slip-up of classified information or an unrelated comment that I'm reading too much in?
Oh, and welcome aboard, Mr. Protean. Sorry about your cloning lab.
*edit*
By the way, does anyone else find it suspicious that a shape-shifter is being introduced by the studio head, and then proceeds to say "Listen to this important person that I totally didn't just impersonate!" -
I'd just like to be bald under my hat please.

Very cool! Congrats guys!

"Did you ever notice how in the Community Digest, whenever the Devs needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever the Devs needed a banning, they send a Mod? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole life spent praising your Game, but always with one hand on the ban button? Would you ever really want to meet a Mod?"

"I remember the First Flame War, the way the posts burned, the topics of posters perma-banned. I saw a third of the PVP guilds banned, and the creation of PWNZ. I stood with my forumites and watched UniqueDragon fall. But now, my forumites are not forumites, and we have come to this thread, where we are bannable, to steal a Jerkhacker not yet UniqueDragon's, to serve our cause. I have always obeyed the user guidelines, but I never thought the Flame War would happen again."

Quote:Even if Primal Earth didn't make the first move, can you, honestly, with a straight face, tell me you believe that Nemesis wouldn't attack them if he thought he could get away with it? He's done it before. Also: Taking into account only the current in-game storyline, there is no clear distinction whether Primal Earth or Preatorian Earth attacked first. There's a non-arc mission (Tina MacIntyre, I believe) that has Anti-Matter attacking our dimension with his clockwork, and you may or may not get that mission before going to υ β 9-6. If you get the one-off mission first, then the Praetorians started it. If you get the story arc first, then we started it.

I didnt say I agreed with him, I said he didn't WANT to do it, but rather felt like he HAD to. Whether that is sane or not is not something I'm discussing.
-
Well, didn't Ms Liberty and crew invade Praetoria and kidnap Dominatrix in the comic books? Let me rephrase that in human terms. Extra dimensional invaders crossed into his world and stole his grand daughter.
If they can do that, what else might they do? Who might get hurt because of their meddling? He can't let it go unanswered. It's too risky. The last time he took that chance, people died. This time it could be someone close to him. He HAS to act. -
Quote:(Why do I do this to myself)Not wanting to rule the world or multiple worlds is also quite a big difference
I don't think Tyrant "wants" to rule the world either. He just feels like he "has" to. He backed off once and things got really bad. Now he'll never let go of control again. He can't, he's convinced the consequences would be worse than anything he could do.
