  1. The biggest milestone in a child's life is when they outgrow their parents.
  2. However, the main benefit of the armor is that it is capable of stopping Chi blockers, which are the main equalist force for dealing with benders outside of the police. It is a rock and hard place there: tasers and chi-blockers, or just tasers. Either way, you're screwed. Also, there tasers could have something along the lines of 50,000 volts of electromotive force, which is enough to punch through quite a bit of commercially available insulation products.
  3. If you can't fly, run. If you can't run, crawl. If you can't crawl, find someone to carry you.
  4. You have no idea how lucky you are. On another game I'm playing right now, a friend of five years decided he was quitting the game for good. Did he give me any of his stuff? Nope! He told me he was going to just gamble it away in the game. Gambling is illegal in the game...

It's like of Bill Gates decided he didn't want to be rich anymore, and decided to blow all of his money on cockfights. There was just something that irked me about it. It would've been better if he had just kept his money instead of donating it to the game's equivalent of the mafia.

I don't think I'll ever actually "quit" CoH. Chances are, much like Phantasy Star Universe for the PC/PS2, I'll play it until the day it ends. Maybe in the last days when everything is said and done, I'll give away my stuff. Though I don't really have much "stuff" to give away, since this game isn't particularly based upon gathering INF. I probably have over a billion collectively on all my toons right now, but that is only because I have nothing to spend it on (immediately, anyway. Inflation and all that makes IOing out new toons more expensive).

But on an economy based game... yeah that is sweet.
  5. I took a stalker through Praetoria, and though the ambush mechanic can be annoying at times, I never saw the ambushes as something that the stalker needs to plow through. I treated the ambushes as "reinforcements" to the mission much like how AVs will often call on reinforcements, and instead would fight my way through enemy mobs quicker to avoid dealing with them instead of sitting back and killing them all. Doing this you'll still go from 1-20 while soloing.
  6. I blew through First Ward and Night Ward on my beam rifle/darkness manipulation blaster. To end off First Ward I even fought the final boss as a full AV.

Granted, the fights through Night Ward were a bit tougher than I would normally expect, but with some kiting and liberal use of inspirations you'll muscle through it.
  7. Sanity is overrated. When you are sane, everything is exactly what it is and nothing else. When you are insane... fun never ends.
  8. I do find it annoying that, whenever I am making a name for one of my characters, when I eventually come up with one that is just right, I find it is taken. No matter how obscure the reference or idea, it'll be taken. Literally, half of my toons have names that are deliberately misspelled because of this: Zerenade (instead of Serenade), Allatrope (instead of Allotrope), Hare Splittor (instead of Hare Splitter), Nazka (instead of Nazca), Vespila (instead of Vespula). When I am taking references to giant etchings in the ground or pulling random scientific terms out of a field guide for insects, they're already taken.

As much as I would love to change that and have the names I want, I can't find a system that would really work without causing a myriad of problems.
  9. I've been soling AVs with my Kin/Elec armor stalker since before I-trial content. First AV I ever soloed was Numina in the Ghost Widow arc at 41, even conning. It was hard as heck and I failed several times, but I pulled it off.

Now with Super Inspirations, Ultimates, ATOs, Incarnate powers, and the recent stalker changes my Kin/Elec stalker plows through AVs like they're EBs. I've also been able to solo an AV with pretty much every toon I have now, so it isn't that big of a deal to solo an AV anymore.
  10. My vote is that Amon is a cyborg. It would give him plenty of motive if his limbs and parts of his body were ferociously mangled by benders to the point where they had to be amputated and reconstructed with clockwork. As for his ability to energybend, it may be more simple than bending. Chi blockers work by cutting off the flow of chi in the body through impact, which doesn't require bending of any sort to impart. This heals, of course, but if the ability to bend could be forcibly severed somehow, then this would allow someone to remove bending from an individual nearly permanently.

I suppose the great thing about the show is that any suggestion, from the simple to the more crazy ones I've seen here, can work.
  11. I could've sworn I've seen an idea like this before. I think it was about how Praetorian content should've been done.

Anyway, I support the idea of having villain contacts and content in paragon, hero content and contacts in the rogue isles, and also letting villains and heroes go to both sides. One of the funnest parts about Praetoria was the side switching and how different missions would play off of each other and take place in the same locations. It really did feel like there was a war going on if you played through more than one arc.

This would have to double the amount of content that was in the game, so it would be a lot of work, but if this could be done I am all for it.
  12. I'll just link to my thoughts on a very similar thread I made about this subject a few months ago. If you have a lot of spare time to read all 300 posts it does have a lot of info on the subject.
  13. Man kind is the only kind that has the ability to refuse to learn.
  14. Finding out you are the smartest one around is only comforting until you realize you are stuck dealing with idiots.
  15. The animations would be great, but the sound effects would be even better. Though I'm not sure we have the tech for that.
  16. I've come here too late, so all I have to say is this:

Wait... there's artwork of Penny when she isn't twisting her butt into the frame?
  17. Blood Red Arachnid

    Radiation Armor

Well, an Elec Armor Stalker's greatest weakness is anyone who knows what Ozone smells like.
  18. Blood Red Arachnid

    Radiation Armor

I'm pretty sure Beta Decay is what will be hit when it is transferred over to stalkers. Which is a shame, because an aura that gives +recharge seems like it would be incredible for a meleer.
  19. If they release a power set like this I may have to reroll my first toon ever. Archery/Sonic Defender, but I wanted her to sing more than shriek.
  20. Looks good. If it is anything like mist pixar movies, the plot is meh but the jokes and the writing are good enough to make me watch it a few times over.
  21. The level shifts, for me, have been inconsequential to everything except for Incarnate content and max difficulty runs. This is largely because I just increase my security level on all my toons that have a shift. So now, I fight at 50+2 instead of 50+1. The powers themselves are what pulls me through difficult situations.

Though I would be lying if I said that the level shifts didn't help me through the I-trials a lot.
  22. I don't know if I have ever gone through the shadow shard on one character. I've done all of the TFs multiple times, but always on different toons.
  23. It's hard to pick just one that I have as a favorite. There are ones I like to play for various reasons, since they all have a different feel.

Kin/Elec Stalker: Closest one I have to an author avatar, so I always wanted to be good with him. I would tweak him and play him and refine him, and then one day the devs decided that stalkers should rock. Now he does rock, and can pull off some truly insane single target DPS. Should the situation call for it, he can also tank as well. Because I this I have developed the habit of putting Mother Youknowwhat in the middle of his name. By the way, there's a large hole in your chest.

Grav/Thorn Dom: People say that this combination isn't too good, but I really don't care. This toon is bundles of fun to play. Whether I am antagonizing enemies with caltrops or I am using Singularity as an impenetrable wall, I can't get enough of this toon. The damage is a little slow to start, but between the poison and the fields and the pets and the trops and the interface proc, the "ticks" just keep climbing. This set also has Wormhole, which has got to be the funnest power in the game. It is super useful, too, even though most of the time I just use it on outdoor maps to make it rain men from the sky.

Ice/Storm Troller: This guy is fun because I love to throw my enemies around. With Gale, Tornado, Ice Slick, Freezing Rain, Lighting Storm, AND Hurricane all on the same set, when this troller enters the field he just exudes power. Though his damage is a bit lighter, he playes like he could bring a whole city to his knees. Best part is, I can turn off all the KB if I use the AoE Immobilize, so the enemies only get thrown around when I want them to be. The immobilize also lets me rack up damage, since Tornado + multiple Lightning Storms + Jack Frost + Freezing rain can really lay down the damage on an AV. Pretty much any move in his set can save the team from certain peril, and after speccing him to have range defense he's very hard to kill.

I suppose those are my favorite 3 to play. I like playing a lot more, though, but I'll keep it brief.
  24. And... it gets weirder. After running through a bunch of options, the Carnival of Light stuff is already unlocked on my account despite never buying it.

However, once I took the circle of thorns bundle by itself it was able to be bought. Maybe I"m just going crazy, but I can't for the life of me remember ever buying the carnival of light bundle...
