Name: The People's Vengence
Currently Recruiting: We are recruiting new members of any level or experience.
RP Level: We don't RP, but if you do that's fine. We don't mind. Some people will RP with you without a qualm!
PvP Level: Very little PvP, none as a group.
Theme/Concept: The original concept of our hero group was a Soviet-era Communist group, "Vengence" was to be the evil version of them; but when you don't RP much that's not so important. What IS important is you (1) don't suck (2) aren't a jerk (3) accept people for who they are (4) help the little guy!
Activity: Currently less then a dozen full time active, mostly in the Central time zone. Evening play with a few in the morning.
Requirements for Membership: The only requirement are the ones listed above ("Don't suck" being primary) and to join our global channel.
Leadership: Leadership? You mean like, people in CHARGE and telling you to DO stuff? That really happens?
In-Game Contact(s): @Blue Pyro @Gold Falcon @Bland @Spydar @Spydarus @VTron21 @VTron22 @Kegan @Scrap Cat @Hugh Voltage @Dust Mite @ElementalMaster
URL: http://www.thepeoplesvanguard.com
Coalition(s): Several other small groups use us for teleportation, as well as our collation with our BLUE SIDE HERO Group!
Other Details: 4) We've fully stocked bases, both on Hero and Villain sides - teleporters and workbenches as we need them.
We use both Teamspeak and a private global channel for communications.
Were tolerant as grownups should be. Keep the drama down and your spirits up and youll fit in.
Weve been around in one form or another since Beta. Members and leadership may shift, but the People endure!
What we are not:
We are not big on formality. If a very structured hierarchical SG with designated and official roles are what you want, it's best to move on. We don't have an official Recruiting Officer or Public Relations Officer. In fact if you ask who is in charge, expect blank looks. If someone generates an idea, the folks that are interested in it just do it. The folks not interested do something else. If you play well, and act well, let's go!
No begging to be power-leveled. This includes the subset of "but I already have a 50 and I want to get this specific toon to 50 for PvP." There are other SGs for that. Above all else, PLing is boring, and those that do nothing but PL miss a LOT of the experience.
We are not "Teh Uber". While we have experienced and intelligent players, we are not solely geared toward the extreme optimization of high-level toons for PvP. Will we participate in PvP? Yes, but that facet does not consume our coalition overall. CoH was fantastically cool before PvP, and we aren't switching to a 100% PvP-oriented SG as some have chosen. Variety is fun!
We have storage of all types available to those that have been with us for over three months and are actively earning prestige. -

I've never been to a game related convention, but I live near seattle. Is the PAX worthwhile?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're a serious gamer (meaning you'd happily spend 12 hours playing games with/against 1000 other gamers in the same room) and you're not claustrophobic (meaning that you don't mind sharing space with 10,000 other gamers for 16 hours) then, yeah, it's worth it, from what I hear.
[/ QUOTE ]
I want to clarify that PAX is really for anyone interested in gaming (hand helds, consoles, board games, card games, RP games), not just hardcore computer gamers. One of the coolest things at PAX is the combination of beanbag chairs and WiFi. I always see huge groups of people sitting around plinkin away on their DS games. I'll also see groups of people on beanbag chairs in certain corners with pen and paper. Then I think, woohoo, now that's old skool!I mean the PAX poster almost always has gaming dice on it!
[/ QUOTE ]
It sounds like a convention I'd have to start regularly attending, should I ever win the lottery ... LOADS of fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are a lot of conventions like that across the country, actually. Just without the Devs... -
[ QUOTE ]
If it's something beyond chatting (like, you know, getting Ex Libris and Lighthouse drunk and goading them into a table-top dance-off) then some venues might be more appropriate than others.

...I can't bring myself to call that an appropriate out of game rewards/give-a-way.... -

Having ultra-rare or unique items that only a handful of players will ever be able to obtain is a really BAD idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like Anniversery Badges or Bug Hunter?
[/ QUOTE ]
Anniversary badges are like vet rewards - you had a shot the same as everyone else by plunking down your cash when they did. I missed the second one because of a computer problem and it bothers but it's not the devs fault nor do I begrudge anyone else about it.
But you REALLY don't want to get me started on the BugHunter badge. It's the one that makes me madder then ANYTHING else the devs have done. Well, with the exception of E.D. but I may get over E.D. someday. I won't get over BugHunter as long as it's ingame the way it is. -

But yea - Bug Hunter is another example of a BIMM: "BAD IDEA MADE MANIFEST"
[/ QUOTE ]
First rule of..."it"...is we don't POST about..."it". lol
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're talking about what I never mentioned, you're right - we don't talk about "it" even in the past tense because "it" might come back in the future.
And that would be bad. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh for heavan's sake, it's a stupid costume. Does it make you character fly faster? Does it make a Blaster shoot farther?
[/ QUOTE ]
If this game only had powers your points would be more valid.
[ QUOTE ]
Does it make a Brutes muscles shinier? No
[/ QUOTE ]
Um, sorta.... -
[ QUOTE ]
...the inherent "Dev Whim" feel of Bug Hunter?...
[/ QUOTE ]
Point of order - while they've never used the WORD whim, they have (basically) admitted it. Case in point - at the last minute in this last patch they snuck in a fix for an exploit I had reported when bases FIRST came out.
I made the mistake of joking about Bug Hunter in the post and the reaction I got was nothing short of hostile. But yea - Bug Hunter is another example of a BIMM: "BAD IDEA MADE MANIFEST" -

I want to know how many people actually show up and get this.
Then I want to know how many of your paying subscribers do NOT get this.
Then I want to figure out the percentage of players that you just blew-off.
I'm betting it's somewhere above five nines...
[/ QUOTE ]
There is something like 125,000 subscribers, but let's call it 100,000 since the 125K number has a little age on it. If they do this one like they did at SDCC, there are 1,000 codes. That means there is one code for every 100 players or 1% of the games population can potentially get one of the codes.
Naturally, that assumes they have the same number for both cons (the one in the US and the one in Germany) as they did for the SDCC (if they have 1,000 per con, then 2% can potentially get a code). There's no guarantee they will have only 1,000 or even as many as 1,000 codes to give away this time around since PAX draws a much smaller number of people compared to SDCC.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're right - but I suspect much less then 1% of the current player base will get this. -

I live in a small town in Florida.
There is no way you will ever be within 200 miles of where I live unless your plane crashes.
Please tell the genius that came up with this it's ACTUALLY one hell of a way to make the 99.999% of your paying subscribers to feel like you really only care about those that have the money to attend events like this.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure a good 99.999% of the playerbase is smart enough to not overreact and think that NCSoft is trying to flip off their playerbase, as opposed to, god forbid, do something nice for a gathering.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't have to TRY to upset someone to do it. You don't have MEAN to do something to be met with foul consequences.
By the way - which one of your two kids is your favorite? "Uncle BaB went on a trip Auntie Ex Libris went on a trip and they got presents for the kids! Oh, just a few of them. A *VERY* few of them...." -

Miss Yin, whom you may remember, has foreseen that the Rikti plan one last desperate gamble to stabilize the gateway between our world, that they might flood the full power of their armed forces through once more.
Miss Yin's precognitions have shown us that they will attempt to harness the power of the Hamidon, as it occurs in the Rogue Isles.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hamidon's power is being used to stabilise the gateway to the Rikti homeworld. The Riders were already "four of the Rikti's most fearsome warriors" (Lady Grey's mission briefing) before they came to Earth. I think your 'obvious' conclusion is wrong in this case.

In the Hive, WAY to the NorthEast - there are a few abandonded buildings there is an exploration badge there
Time Bandit Badge: Portal Corporation had their main facility here until the Devouring Earth destroyed the area. This forced them to move their headquarters to Peregrine Island.
So, really this fits.
There's a Villian mission that shows the beginning of the reconstruction of Boomtown. It would be nice it that was on the Hero side as well... -
May I suggest *AGAIN* the CoV DVD cape in there somewhere since it no longer seems available?
-
Hmmm....
36 slots on 11 servers is 396 total alts.
Primary powers * secondary powers for all the character types (not including the new powersets!) is 400 possibilities ...
Not QUITE enough slots....
-
You forgot "It's timed, you can't drop off the TF AND you have to be level 50."
(If there was a badge, I'd consider doing it...) -

Major Gameplay Improvements
* Level Up Boost: Upon reaching enough XP to level up (at all levels), one of each type of large inspiration is immediately cast upon your character, and health and endurance bars are immediately filled.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does that mean if we're down, we get a Restoration? -
[ QUOTE ]
Okay so Maybe I'm an idiot but I cant change the inside color of the Tuxedo tails
[/ QUOTE ]
You currently have to do the origional cape/trenchcoat trick. Set your colors on an unrelated item then hit the "USE THESE COLORS OVER EVERYTHING" button. The colors should stay after you turn it back off and fix the other 47 costume peices you just messed up. -
I'm sure it's been mentioned and bugged, but the embrodery on the bridal outfit is only changeable on the skirt.
Tuxedo needs a cumberbund.
(Jay is losing sexy point here!) -
What about the Arachnos cape - only available with the CoV-DVD set?
Any hope you'll do the same thing you did with the GvE set and the power slides?
-
You can't apply KB as an aspect on the "ball" side? Constant for everyone, that would mean no one had an advantage.
Seriously, you're thinking too hard if you think it's got to react "properly" - just take an Unbound Nictus, change the art, hack off about 60% of it's scripts and attributes, make it level 1 and cannot be damaged and drop one next to every trainer in the game.
Add a script where if it "dies" or is untouched for 15 minutes it teleports back to the trainer.
Seriouly, you're overthinking this. -
[u]Name[u]: The Peoples Vanguard / Peoples Vengance - both sides togther are called PV Unlimited
[u]Currently Recruiting[u]: Always looking for interesting people
[u]RP Level[u]: RP-lite to nonRP If you want to RP, feel free. Just don't expect everyone to follow suit.
[u]Theme/Concept[u]: The original was a communist superhero group ("All Power to the People!") created by Mr. Marx. Since then, we're really just a group of heroes and villains who want to have fun and keep all the drama to a minimum.
[u]Requirements for Membership[u]: (1) DON'T SUCK! (2) NO DRAMA! (3) Register on our website ( http://www.thepeoplesvanguard.org) Yep, simple and straight forward. Sick of drama? Tired of bossy leaders? Welcome aboard!
[u]Leadership[u]: True to the ideal of "All Power To The People!" we don't have *A* leader. Heck, we don't really have ANY leader! It best resembles anarchy with a few people making the minimal rules needed.
[u]In-Game Contact(s)[u]: Check our website for this one!
[u]URL[u]: http://www.thepeoplesvanguard.org
[u]Other Details[u]: Bases on both sides (blue and red) are complete. Storage, teleporters, etc. Storage use DOES require you be with us 30 days and "show commitment" (in other words, help us earn prestige.) -

Leadership/Recruiting: @Blue Pyro @Gold Falcon @Bland @Spydar @Spydarus @VTron21 @VTron22 @Kegan @Scrap Cat @Hugh Voltage @Dust Mite @ElementalMaster
What we are:
1) We're a group of people that likes to have fun, go on missions, task forces, and badge hunting expeditions. That's about it! We simply look for other people like ourselves, that enjoy the game for the game, and wish to play with other experienced members that understand tactics and the strengths and weaknesses of their individual characters.
2) We are very adaptable - by not imposing self-limits or implementing mission statements, we allow our members to pursue any desires they wish: Lowbie treasure hunts, new webpage development, video promotions, task force leading, T-shirt making, whatever!!
3) We are casual and relaxed. If you want to implement some aspect of community that no one else has yet, then do it! There is no need to request things through Official Channels. Our coalition is a sandbox. Just dont kick sand in someone elses face!
4) We've fully stocked bases, both on Hero and Villain sides - teleporters and workbenches etc. as needed.
5) We use both Teamspeak and a private global channel for communications.
6) Were tolerant as grownups should be. Keep the drama down and your spirts up and youll fit in.
7) Weve been around in one form or another since Beta. Members and leadership may shift, but the People endure!

Not to be a spoil sport or anything, but how is Joseph Michael Linsner going to react about his character Dawn being used for Athy's picture?

Most all images are hosted by Photobucket (which seems odd to me) so it would probably have to be taken up with them, actually.
