Considering 2 of those characters are behind the registration act as well. Clearly Peter got his identity wiped by Mephisto.

I took that as a challenge!

I created a rogue/ranger/shadow dancer/horizon walker character with stealth levels so high that it was impossible to roll high enough to see him. There was simply not enough bonuses in the game even using feats to get a high enough spot.

The Gm did point out that stealth didn't equal invisibility to which I replied...
It will next level when I get HiPS!
Most game rules are broken. Look at Hero System or GURPS. They allow for some fo the worst abuses I have ever seen in game, yet players clamor about how balanced the rules are. For the most part I like 3.0-3.5 rules. I have not looked at 4.0. The idea of it just turns me off entirely. Can you make a min/max? Well yeah, but dimes to dollars, you can in 4.0 as well, and probably one that is more abusive.
  3. I have been reading the book since I have gotten it, and I still have to say the new art work is rather off putting. I have noticed a larger number of orcs in all professions as compared to other editions, and really I do not like the look of the new orcs or trolls.

Sidestepping that, I am not sure what I think about the new mechanics. Yeah, the technomancers are cool, but were they really needed? The history surrounding them is very interesting so far.

The new point based system is interesting, and I find it interesting that elves, being a bit weaker that dwarves, cost more than dwarves or orcs. Ok interesting is the wrong word. I don't like it. The point system seems to be rather secure from min-maxing, and it gives you a place to grow with your character thats for sure. I just find it hard to believe some of the changes, such as the idea that your magic stat does not start at 6, or the difficulty it is making a max stat.

I have mentioned this before, but I do not like the new target numbers. A 5-6 on a d6 is pretty darn difficult. I have done some quick experiments, and most dice rolls I am lucky to get 1 success on 6 dice, with the 1's often numbering two or more. I had the same issue with White Wolfs targets of 7-10 on a d10. I recall playing Abberant, and having a toon with Forcefield, Mega Stamina, and Stamina up the yinyang, and still only getting an average of 3 successes for my forcefield. Fortunately they cover this in the game and give the option of having the target numbers be 4-6.

I need to find a group, and I know I want to pick up some more of the books, probably starting with the Runners Guide. I prefer Samurai, but the mages book will be needed as well. *Watches savings dwindle as I pick up more and more books.*

    Ambushes - FFS

Are we sure it's only Praetoria? I have ran two MA's that on the first encounter, wiped me out, and spawned 20 or so more mobs that proceeded to wipe me out again when I log back into the mission. They were literally duplicating before my eyes, thus the wipes. That, and they were all custom mobs using elec. That sure as heck did not help.

Both MA's received 1 star and I refrained from sending a nasty gram.
  5. I really really hate this man.

I thought I could not dislike him any more than with OMD/BND.

    I was wrong.

    Yeesh.
  6. Sorry, I do not have the information about it. Having just read today's Gutters comic, he makes a mention of it.

So, has anyone read it and can they explain why he is saying it's a kick in the gnads to the fans? Keep in mind I boycotted Marvel prior to the release of OMD/BND.
  7. I love Carnies. They are nice and squishy. Really they are a blast to fight for me. Oddly enough, my /SR scrapper does not have the same hate of sappers either. They are annoying, but only slightly so. The guy with the tripod is a worse threat for me.

No content that required its enhancements. So I think that's a pretty good indication that I19 will have some significant end game content.

As for PvP, I wouldn't hold your breath.
I thought they pulled it as Posi was not happy with the feel of it and wanted it really shine, and not be a tacked on affair.

Oh, and can we use the phrase "steak 'n' bullets" from now on? I really like it.
I can understand Expendables beating SP.

But Vampires Suck? You have to be kidding me.

    2. Vampires Suck: $12M
    3. Eat Pray Love: $11.5M

At least the latest Friedberg-Seltzer mediocrity isn't likely to take the top slot, though it does give me a warm feeling to see it beat the meretricious Eat Pray Love.

    Ouch....

    America has NO taste.

(the above is a point of view statement. Should you disagree, TOUGH!!)

If at any point you reasonably believe that you, yourself are in danger of anything that justifies lethal force in self defense (kidnapping, murder, ****, serious bodily injury) you're free to use lethal force in self defense. If you have kids in the home and are afraid that THEY might be similarly at risk or be unable to flee, the same goes.

Compare that to Texas where homeowners are able to justify lethal force against property damage. One very public case had a man justified in shooting teens that were "decorating" his house with rolls of toilet paper.

    .
I live in California, and the advice I received from several people working in the law enforcement sector is that if I shoot someone that is not quite in the house, to drag their body inside. That still does not stop civil court from prosecuting you for the wroongful death. Look at OJ SImpson. He was found innocent in the federal case, yet a civil jury found him guilty of the same crime.

Syndrome's base stands out for me. As I think about it, most villains really do not have permanent lairs. I mean, a permanent lair means the hero knows where to find you. Look at Kim Possible and Duff Killigan.

    It's idiotic.

I mean, if I shoot/run someone through because they are in my house attempting to rob and/or kill me, they have no right to sue me if they live. God forbid they break a leg tripping over a floor fan.

Yet in this country, the victims can be sued for defending themselves.

Absolutely he is guilty of multiple counts of Assault and Battery -- a "citizen's arrest" does not allow for the kind of stuff he does.

    .
Just wanted to point out this statement. Self defense does. Many of the criminals fighting him are using guns or equally restricted weapons. The fact that Batman does not resort to that, (Anymore), aids in his defense.

As I recall both Marvel and DCU have laws protecting the identities of a masked person until after the crime has been convicted. I am not sure that makes alot of sense, but it protects the heroes as well as the villains. Usually the villains admit what they do in one way or the other, but most get away, Dr. Doom, or are considered mentally incompetent, Joker.

That's enough out of you! You need to sober up!

  17. It's been said before, but bears repeating. THere is a difference between a server that is full of people, and a game full of subscribers. NCSoft has shown unequivically that they are more than willing to cull dead weight as they see it, (R.I.P. Auto Assault) and if Co* did not have enough sunscribers, they would have taken action by now.

We see it all the time in the forums. People that are sunscribed but do not log in. Some of those people are not forum goers, so they still may be subscribed but not interacting here. In addition, GR was soft launched Monday. The servers were hitting yellow and red then. Those people that preordered their stuff from Amazon, or other game stores, did not have their game until Tuesday. The servers were busy because the current subscribers found out about the soft launch, and logged in.

Could the game use more subscribers? Yes.

*Puts deoderant on, brushes teeth, and brushes hair*

So yes, watch for newbies and be nice, and for Gawds sake stop ignoring the help channel. I asked two questions yesterday, and one got answered 45 minutes later, after I had already figured it out. As a vet, I have to say that is friggin ridiculous.

    *rolls eyes*

They should have kept him out of the picture. If they can't do a villain right, (Bane, Venom, Deadpool) then don't put them in the film to try to appeal to fanbois. You just tick off the people that really do not care about them by lessening the charater of the other villains, and tick off the fanbois due to the fact that you did not get the character right.
  19. Sho, many action flicks are dressed up love stories.

    Streets of Fire

    On Deadly Ground

    Hard to Kill

    Lionheart

Rocky 2 (Yes his relationship with Adrienne was improtant to the movie.)

    The Matrix

    and others.

    Bond was never about romance.

    Dune.

    The Terminator

As long as guns are firing, and crap exploding, the average male can't see past that to the story.
  20. BlackArachnia

    The Expendables

... My sister in law loved it.

She said there was to much character development though...

  22. The Martians from Mars Attacks! With music being your weakness, you think they would have noticed.

The Signs aliens. Perhaps they were here for a slave raid.

War of the World aliens. THey sent no probes either time, and seemed to think that in the intervening years, Earth's atmoshpere would change?

Giger aliens. Yes, they are wicked cool and ruthless, but there is no real strategy. Not that they need one.

Predators. Hmm humans have weapons that can hurt us now. Lets go see if I can dodge their automatic weapon as I try to slice them with my claws.

Skrulls/Kree. They are dead evolution wise, yet they try to land on a planet where a highly trained human can take them out, much less the hordes of super beings. The DC universe is not much better, but more aliens seem in Supermans league there. Still, you would think someone would have put a huge sign outside of the solar system warning of the vast powers protecting the system.

    The Expendables

Well, sounds like it will be a fun rental then.

Glad to see the Auto Shotgun getting more notoriety. That is one seriously sweet weapon, and I dislike firearms as a rule.

    Samurai
    Barbarians
    Knights

    Heck, just a handful

would also be nice to have undead that weren't rotting/disgusting

    Ghosts

in addition, since it's possible to get heroic masterminds, perhaps

    Angels

but the big one is the medieval warriors

We have two modern sets: thugs and soldiers
    But only one ancient: ninja

and swordswinging suits of armor, magically animated or actual people, are just as often in superhero comics
I would be happy if the ninjas were more.... ninja-ish. As they are they seem rather bland.

    Forum issues?

Whats up with the forums? Since yesterday I keep coming back to the forums to find myself logged out. As I keep myself logged in this is kind of odd, and yesterday I could not log in for a brief time. Anyone else having issues?
