I'm not looking for your sympathy.
What if, for example, someone had a level pacted toon that sat idle while the other half of the level pacted toon played for several months.
Then the idle level pacted toon logs in and levels up very quickly. Should that character be subject to discipline?
And are you saying that your friends got multiple characters many levels by exploits but avoided discipline by not getting to 50 during the frenzy? It sounds that way.
If your friends found themselves subject to discipline next week, would you be upset? -
The web that was cast was overinclusive, maybe it was underinclusive as well.
In response to Soul Train, I'm not sure if you noticed that I stated that I wasn't disciplined, or if your suggestions were for me to pass on to my friends. Either way, I am just stating that I disagree with how the Devs have handled this.
The original post inquired about the mood on MA. My mood has soured. -
Was Choake hitting the bottle again?

I'm not leaving. You can't have my stuff. I don't care if you farm or don't.
But I do think a little joy has been lost in this game and on these forums in the last few days.
Is it wrong for me to think that? -
I posted a link to that a few days ago. But I can't find it anymore.
-
It's the Devs game and forum. They can do what ever they want.
It's the player's money. They can spend it however they like.
Hopefully, the game is entertaining for enough people who are willing to pay for it that it has a long life and brings joy to the players.
But when you have long term veterans with multiple accounts and lots of friends leave, it has a ripple effect beyond $15/month times x accounts.
Even if you are happy with everything about the game, you should be worried about too many people unsubscribing. -

Really, it's some whiny babies. 99.99999999999% of the playerbase was unaffected by Positron's hammer coming down, but oh my gawd what if it could have happened to them!?

I wasn't disciplined. But yet I do feel affected because people I know were. I'm sorry you feel that if it doesn't affect you that those it does affect must be babies. -

But, not the boy?

Sorry, thought you had only girls.
You can take care of him too. -

Well, in that case, you may want to try a server transfer then.
Justice of late seems to be filled with a bunch of kid's ranting over stupid stuff, acting like 10 year olds.
Also, there seems to be a lack of respecting each other of late as well.
Good luck in your search.

Take care Smokie. You're a great guy that I've been honored to know and play with. Take care of Ele and those girls! -
Good luck and have fun, Rock Crag. I have the same feelings you do.
As for Mscats: You are right that the Devs are free to create what they want, discipline as wish, and censor the forums at their whim. We either enjoy it and pay for it, or leave.
If you continue to enjoy it then I'm happy for you. But I don't think its proper for you to criticise someone for not liking it anymore. -
How about deleting some of these olds threads, or letting them die out?
No.
How about not starting fights?
OK.
How about not posting pointless stuff just to PL your post counts?
Pointless stuff can be funny.
And how about not ganging up on people?
OK.
Anyone with me?
Sometimes. -
How to kill farming?
To paraphrase Shakespeare, "First kill all the farmers."
I'm not advocating that, but that is the only solution. If they successfully did that the game would be a very empty place.
My personal opinion is they should concentrate on creating beautiful, exciting, fast paced, challenging, and well written content. Stuff like the Imperious Task Force. That does more to direct people away from farming and towards content than any punitive measure they could take and without chasing away paying customers. -
I've decided to step back my posting for a bit, perhaps my playtime as well. I haven't cancelled THIS account, but you may not see me around as much.
If anyone needs to reach me they can send a PM, as I'll still be lurking, or you can send an e-mail to Bionicflea@comcast.net. -
Arcanaville agrees with Mac.

I haven't been able to say two words about PvP since sometime around I7 without it degenerating into a downward spiraling stupidfest. I made a very concerted effort to reverse that in I13 but after four straight days of being called an idiot for having an opinion (four days in which I voluntarily imposed a moratorium on responding to attacks), I gave up. Until that situation fundamentally changes, the forums in general and the PvP community as a whole is unlikely to have sufficient credibility to request meaningful changes, because open dialog is essentially impossible.
The irony is that I agree with many if not most of macskull's points, and in fact I was opposed to more than half of the dev changes for I13 for a variety of reasons, even if I was generally in agreement with the philosophy behind them, and I stated so publicly. I quickly lost the motivation to do much about it, though, and that wasn't the fault of the devs.
If I had any influence over the process, maybe 75% of the things on macskull's post wouldn't exist. But I don't, and I see no specific reason to stick my neck out to do so.

Why can't we just have a store that sells puppies at a reasonable price?

Sounds like a great event, but I'll be driving to Jacksonville at that time.

I should be able to make it. But I won't know till Saturday gets here. If you don't see me around, please don't wait for me.

It might also create a class of "victim" PvP'ers that just go to die on the off chance they will get a recipe. Go to zone, die, rez, and go back without ever fighting back at all. Repeat ad nauseum.
Such a system will also benefit arena AFK farmers.
If such a system were implemented, I would expect that the chance of a drop would be much higher for the winner than for the loser. (the suggested 50% might be enough, not sure.) An incentive should promote action, not just standing and dying. -

My head hurts.
I know what you mean, though. Thanks, Q! -
And I would switch assault for manuvers, stacking even more defense for your allies.
