As with most things, there is a balance to be struck. I don't think you should just concentrate on quality, nor on speed. If you don't put out a good product, niether you or your readers will be happy. But if you have too few issues, readers will lose interest in following the complete project.
My only constructive advice would be to consider scaling back either the number of issues, or panels per issue, so that you can have a good quality product that tells a story in a reasonable amount of time. -
I think the concept of letting teams do their match at any point during the week was a good idea, because it allowed some flexibility, but it ultimately didn't work.
I think it's better to have a set date and time, even if some people can't make it. At least then the people that do sign up know that it fits into their normal schedule.
Also: does that mean Team I12 PvP wins? -
I think that the best way to help new players is one on one on a team or through tells. I usually get very positive responses that way.
But other times when I have said virtually the same things in a full team or a global channel the person got a little defensive; probably because they feel belittled, even though I was just trying to be helpful. -

And the bar nuts? I can't find anything here.
Oh, and HI! -

It can't be anyone's birthday today. All of Justice celebrates birthdays in October. Everyone except me . . . I'm always left out.

I'm cool with moving to a new channel if we have to. I trust Quartermain to make a good decision about it.

So my new idea to "fix" whats been going on is to finish the season out over a weekend. All the rounds will be played out and then rankings will be made through this. This will show who's serious about this and have time to form up dependable teams. Everyone that shows and gets ranked will be responsible to show up for the next season, which would follow right after. Getting ranked and not showing up for matches in the future without a official Dropout will cause a forfeit.
also the future season will entail 2-3 matches a week instead of 1 to keep some fun going and keep it moving. I have talked to several teams about this in game and they seem to agree. So the teams i havnt talked to yet please state your opinion on this and add ideas that you think will help. Also i would need a good time from ALL Teams that plan to stay and make this better for this blowout weekend.
I'm all for finishing this up in one weekend, but I am bowing out for any Season 2. -
Is that ^ a picture of Con from 1976?

I have noticed disturbing increase in licking going on in this thread.

You could always make a video of a character walking out of AE and getting on the train and then send them a link to that.
Subtle AND helpful. -
Quote:I agree that it's easy for a vet to get to portal corp rather quickly with all the tp powers that vets now have access to.For a newbie it does take effort, for a vet: Takes no effort at all to get to PI.
* * * *
If you have a base it's even easier, as the base exit for PI puts you right in portal corp.
But the SG base entrance is in Portal Corp. If you enter an SG from another zone and take an SG teleporter it leaves you standing by Crimson on the little island past the ferry and Ghost Falcon. Minor quibble, I just wanted to be accurate. -
I feel your pain, Coming Storm. I had an AR/Traps blaster genericed once. He was called Osama Bin Hidin.
I eventually deleted him as I couldn't reach agreement with the GMs on his name. -

Let's consider what a farm is outside of MMOs for a second. Farming started when hunters and gathers decided to stand still and plant seeds in a plot of land, cultivate it, and reap the harvest.
That definition was carried over to MMOs and games in general. When you stop moving around and stay in one place to cultivate your rewards, you are farming. It doesn't matter whether you do that in dev missions, AE, Ouro, arena, or a hazard zone. If you are staying in one place to harvest rewards, you are farming.
Farming, in and of itself, is not bad. The rise of civilation and societies is based on crop and lifestock farming. In MMOs, the availibilty of many in-game items and rewards are greatly increased by farming and do trickle down into the population beyond the farmers.
In real life, certain farms are disallowed. Coca leaves and marijuana immediately come to mind. Why are those farms disallowed? Because the derivatives of those plants are an inordinate amount of wealth concentrated into the hands of a few law breakers, which can lead to corruption, and a stuporforic effect on the population that uses the derivative drugs.
In MMO terms, things like the mito farms and meow farms have the same end results -- an inordinate amount of wealth concentrated into the hands of a few and stupified players that don't know how to do anything but sit on a stoop and watch the world go by. -

Keep your main and make a new Lightslinger on another server. In fact, make a Lightslinger on each server and try the different powersets already suggested above.
If you come to Justice, I'll help you out. -
I agree with the falling meteors but disagree on the zone.
Make it Bloody Bay. The meteors and shivans are already there, but it would be a blast to see them fall! -
Quote:While I don't always agree with Nethergoat, I do on this issue. Why? Because "farming" is not illegal, broken, a crime, or against the rules of the game. Engaging in exploits, however, is.Do you use criminal-element analogies in all aspects of life or just online?
IRL, Would someone that reported something broken- a downed power line- be an informant? What if he reported someone cut it?
People that are *knowingly* creating farms are doing enough harm that the devs are wasting resources tracking them down.
So, people, report away.
To extend your anology, would you report someone leaning against a power pole because he might knock it down or climb up and cut the wires? Certainly you could. Some might even say "that pole leaner looks suspicious to me!" and feel vindicated in their reporting it to the authorities.
But in reality, you are doing a disservice to both the pole leaner and the authorities who now have to investigate. -
This patch also corrects the 1111112222chat bug and the globals changing colors bug along with some other odds and ends.
