Excellent guide, Ice Knight.
Might I also suggest that folks that don't have fly as a power buy one in Grandville before coming. It's very helpful, especially for melee characters, not to have to jump between each attack. -

I used it Monday night and it worked for me.

Quote:I was about to ask exactly this. Would an hour difference really make a huge difference?Sure, someone has to be affected - but why the same people on both nights. For instance, starting maintenance an hour earlier on Mondays and an hour later on Fridays wouldn't drastically affect the number of players online, but it would help to reduce the impact on any individual player.

I found her!

Quote:An excellent point that I had not thought of.I have one problem with the power suppression idea. My portable workbench. I commonly get all my salvage and use WW to store salvage as I make IO's and then transfer it to WW from my enhancement screen.
If they power suppress it and supress the workbench then I'll be mightily PO'ed since all that time and money to get hte bench would be for virtually nothing. -
I'm on US Eastern timezone and this hits me as well. I like to get a little game time in before going to work. I liked the previous maintenance time better.
Oh well. -
Quote:They did exactly that for the costume drops (wings and boots). There was a large, persistent player outcry that those items were too rare and consequently too expensive and the drop rate was changed.Quite honestly, I wish I could share your conviction that the devs would ever consider something "too rare" and adjust the drop rates accordingly. however, i have seen no evidence of this, and have seen plenty of evidence that they want to KEEP IO's at least somewhat rare.
Then again, I realize that there is a big difference between something that looks nice and something that can make your character more powerful. -

Great rant! It's got drama, rednames, and a classy ending! -
I don't like power suppression because I don't like having to retoggle everything. I usually don't stay in the market long enough for other peoples' powers to bother me. And I really don't think that other players' powers are the source of the lag. I never see more than 10 or so people there at any one time, and not all of them are running graphic intensive powers.

To Horatio, Backalley Brawler, and Castle:
Thank you for coming into this thread and delivering your insights and mea culpas. I have noticed that less and less people in our society seem willing to admit to mistakes. It takes a courageous and responsible person to do so.
I have also found that most people are willing to forgive and forget after an apology. At least I am. Not only that, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. I had cancelled my second account and not purchased the magic or science packs in protest after I15 (let's not go into why and ruin the moment).
Tonight, if the store is open, I will purchase the packs and renew my second account. -
Bah! I forgot this was going on. Just as well though, I wouldn't have been able to stay all seven hours and I was distracted all night helping my son with his homework.
-
Yeah, I got some negative rep out of that thread too. Gee, I wonder who might have done that?
-
I agree that the cut scene was just normal Justice silliness.
But to answer your second question on how to improve performance, I think that the Market interface should open blank, wait for you to input a search or conduct a transaction, and then load the necessary information and graphics. -

Kudos to Pum, Uber, Mac, Toona, Enrious, Philly, and everyone else that posted in the rant thread. It was high in logic, low in flaming, and actually got something done!

Pfft . . what does TopDoc know about purples anyway.

Quote:Your summary is wrong. The premise of the thread is that there were changes in 2 different TFs. These changes made the TFs impossible to complete without GM assistance. The nature of changes suggested that they were intentional rather than bugs. The changes were unannounced during the recent closed and open beta. Since the changes were unannounced no one knew to look at them.To summarize:
The premise of this entire thread is completely wrong. It posited that there were undocumented changes because the Devs are mean, uncommunicative, and sloppy testers. And those undocumented changes led to bugs.
The fact is that they're simply bugs. Not intended at all. Not a result of secretiveness. Not a result of a plot to get the speed runners.
gg
Your summary is so wrong that 2 developers have come into this thread and debunked your position:
Quote:I won't argue the Hess aspect; I don't know what changed there or why any more than you do. It sounds like someone dropped the ball, certainly.
However, the issue of Katie not following properly is a flat out bug. There's no way we can provide you with documentation on a bug, since by definition it shouldn't have happened, period.Quote:Bit busy today, so no time to read through the whole thread right now, but I saw mention of changes to Numina? Are there other missions/maps in I16 that seem to have changed without a patch note? If so, could you guys put together a list and I'll make sure it gets into the hands of the right people.
Hess TF is being fixed, and the issue with Amy in the KH TF has been logged as a bug. -

Thanks, BaBs! -
I heard Cho suggested that Katie and Hess be made more challenging . . .
