    PVP Olympics...

    Good luck with your Olympics.

One question though. How will you be able to control what other players, who aren't participating in your Olympics, do?

I would also pay for a Mid's style way of respec'ing where I could just change a few powers or slots. I have TONS of vet-specs sitting unused because I hate the hassle of having to re-build a character from level one and not make the mistake of picking in the wrong order. That's also the reason I don't have any dual builds.
  3. I don't think we have any set rules, as far as I know. Vendor trash is always vendor trash regardless of level.

But if you have something decent that isn't selling, you might craft it and drop it in a bin for someone to use.

  5. Meh. While I have more heroes than villains, I don't have a problem playing them at all. I seem to beat up on the same people and most of them shoot at me first anyway.

So it's self defense! Honest! (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

    But we were'nt.
We had Two Brutes, Two MMs, and (irrc) Four Corrs. We had an awful lot of defence. We went for Numina first.

We died. No, correct that, were were slaughtered.
So, we attempted to rushgank them. That failed badly too.
Slight detour via Bloody Bay. Shivans, got someone to faceplant, Team TP, vengance, attack with Shivans.
Still got murdered. By that time it was late, people had to leave to get some sleep before work, etc. So, really, we failed. Joy.

Seriously...Why are they all set at perma level 53? Lvl 50 is hard enough as it is, given who it is we're fighting here. And there's 8 of them...9, w/e there is.
I just don't get why it sent so horribly wrong.

Add: Looking at other comments, this was far from a newbie team. I personally hadn't run the LRSF before, but most of the others had, and the leader was a good one. He also pilots an SS/WP Brute that could fend of Reichsman and all his cheap with comparitive ease. We had two kins...hm. Cant remember what else. Alpha is Bots/Traps, the other MM was Bots/Pain. We had a second Something/Invul Brute. No idea on the other corruptors.

I guess this just makes me feel bitter because of all the comments saying how Its easier than it was, and 'You dont need temps'. So, by all accounts, we shoul have been able to muddle on through...
But it took us Vengeancing the Shivans to down Numina. And by that time it was too late for som.
    Humbugrrit.
When this encounter first came out, and the heroes were always level 54, there were a lot more failures than successes. Smart, competent players on test were unable to figure out how to beat it because it was different than everything else in the game up to that point. One team finally beat it using a high defense team and shivans so everyone went with that and then started adding variations and a few viable alternative strategies.

By the time they lowered the final group to 53s, my usual teammates and I were pretty used to beating them so it just became easier. Then they added IOs so everyones builds got stronger, faster, and sturdier.

I've completed it now with no pets and nukes, with no deaths, and once with only six players (and lots of death).

A few months ago I ran it with a team that is not used to playing together and some members had not done it before. We really struggled with it and had several team wipes. It felt like my first few tries when it first came out. But we kept at it and killed Numina after 2 team wipes; then Psyche with one wipe; then Positron with a few deaths; and then the rest started falling easier and faster as we gained the advantage.

Moral of the story: It can be hard the first few times. But keep trying, learn the tricks of the encounter, and soon you too will be breezing through it.

  8. Rule 1 for the final mission of LRSF - everyone must be defense soft capped before encountering the Phallanx. It doesn't really matter how you get there - vengence, purples, forcefields, -tohit, whatever. But the whole team needs to softcap.

Second Rule of LRSF - You must, MUST, have a healthy dose of -regen. While I suppose 8 determined and crazy brutes could probably do it, save yourself the headaches and have a few sources of -regen.

Third Rule of RSF - Everyone attack one target and take out the buffers first. You'll want to take out Numina and Sister Psyche as fast as you can. After that people argue who the next biggest priority target is. My personal opinion is to go for whoever has the lowest health, unless they hit a "god-power" like unstoppable.

Final rule of LRSF - Everything else is optional. You don't "have" to have a stone brute, or a rad corrupter, or shivans, or vengence, or nukes or a single hero pulled. Sure, they are all great and helpful, but they aren't necessary. All you need is soft capped defense, -regen, and concentrated fire on one target at a time, starting with the buffers

    Invul/SS Build

I would think that you would be better off going for smash/lethal defense using reactive armor in shields and kinetic combat or smashing haymaker in attacks.

You'll also want to take dull pain MUCH sooner (pre-level 10) and max recharge and heal. You can hold off getting resist energy and resist elements until the very end.

And I have no idea why you picked stealth, invisbility, and phase on a tanker. You are much better off going with fighting for tough and weave, or for an epic to pick up some ranged attacks and utility powers. The only purpose I can think of is PvP and this is not a pvp build at all.

I also would move the heacatombs to one of your early, fast recharging attacks to have the proc go off more often and to be available when you exemp down.
  10. In response to the initial post: I still use the AE, but not as much as I used to.

Every few days or so I'll run a few AE missions to get tickets and buy stuff I'm missing; whether that be recipes or salvage. Every few weeks I'll run one of the Dev's Choice or Player's picks and take my time to enjoy the story, just because I get bored of the same ol' content I've run dozens of times.

Same thing with Ouroborus: Every so often I'll fire up an Ouro TF or story arc for a few merits and a change of pace.
  11. You get knockback protection and 3% defense to all. Your ally gets the resistance normally granted by the fire shield.

    I'm NOT a dev!!!

Only a REAL dev would deny that he's a dev!

    Proof!
  13. So, after a few days of midlevel crisis, has anyone noticed a change in the midlevel supply?

Or are we merely a few drops in a very large bucket?

Personally, I've been running on the villain side and am suffering from the slower market keeping my slots tied up. But most of the stuff I've dropped into the stream of commerce has been salvage, and A & B pools. A few of the crafted IOs went for several million.

Most of the IOs I placed for sale were the only one up for sale and the sale dates for last 5 sometimes went back to 2008!

That's not entirely accurate. While it's true that relative level does not increase your odds of obtaining a drop, killing higher rank foes DOES increase the odds.

Its a difference of 21 points extra heal. I can't imagine that 21 points can make a significant difference at level 50, but whatever, it's your build.
  16. Immobilization protection, a little defense, and a great place to stick IOs.
  17. WHO SAYS I'M NOT A FLEA?!?!?!

Sorry, for the derailment. Back on topic:

I've been playing freedom vills at level 30ish the last few nights and offering teams on market channel but I haven't gotten any response at all.

In fact, I'm on right now if anyone want to team.
  18. Not bad as a pure solo farming build for level 50. It has no travel power, so you aren't going to be going anywhere fast. But you are probably parked in AE or Portal Corp in Peregrine on a permanent basis.

I thought not having flashfire on a fire/kin was lunacy, until I saw you had fissure to take its place. Again, not something you would do leveling up or that you would want if you exemped down under level 41 frequently.

I think the last heal IO in transfusion is a complete waste, as you are already way over the ED cap without it. I would probably put the slot in hasten to make all your attacks that much faster and it puts you 6 seconds shy of perma hasten. There's a ton of other places you could put it other than hasten that would be more beneficial than where it is now.

I would also go hurdle instead of swift, since you have no other vertical movement, and might not be able to hop over small walls and fences without it.
  19. It's the Cuban national Anthem.

The translation is a bit off:

To combat!, run, citizens of Bayamo!, for our homeland looks upon us with pride. Fear not a glorious death for to die for the homeland is to live!
  20. ¡Al combate, corred, Bayameses!, Que la patria os contempla orgullosa; No temáis una muerte gloriosa, Que morir por la patria es vivir!
  21. I was running baby new year mission on my mastermind last night. I usually don't play that character with ninja run on, but I had to turn off superspeed and shadowfall so that Baby would follow me. So I turned ninja run on.

I was having so much fun running up, debuffing a spawn, and then back-flipping behind my minions. So cool!
